Sea World ski stars sunk by pirates
tolly1804 replied to New display name's topic in Theme Park Discussion
There was a report in the Bulletin that it has been postponed for now, due to the overwhelming disappointment of the dress rehearsals. It said the show will be reworked, or if they are not happy enough with it, cancled -
Success of QLD VIP = introduction of 99 World Pass Even more interesting is that i don't think many people were worried about the block out period at all (well at least until they turned up to the turnstiles to find their card wouldn't let them in). I hope WVTP knows what they are doing!

How many times have you been on Superman Escape?
tolly1804 replied to TimMc333's topic in Theme Park Discussion
Dont forget that they were feeding them hot dogs and thick shakes, i think it was about 14 times -
Nice to see Jet Rescue getting some advertising time as the 'newest ride at Sea World', while Hollywood Stunt Driver is still being quoted as 'the worlds best stunt show' for the holiday advertising period. I'm a little surprised to see that they are not advertising "Pirates", however we might see some adds for it this time next year

Seaworld and Wet n Wild to have a Dominos outlet
tolly1804 replied to DEAP's topic in Theme Park Discussion
Thats about the price for a standard 10 inch pizza at Dominos. The ones at sea world and wet n wild are 1/4 of this size (so about 5 inches) which makes it a bit of a rip off, but its only a little more then a standard dominos2go store price -
Seaworld and Wet n Wild to have a Dominos outlet
tolly1804 replied to DEAP's topic in Theme Park Discussion
i think they are about 5 inches and the deal cost $14.95 or $15.95 with a pasta instead of the pizza. Which looses me a bit because both the pizza and pasta are 8.95 each? -
Sea World ski stars sunk by pirates
tolly1804 replied to New display name's topic in Theme Park Discussion
The Bulletin had a review yesterday that bagged the show out quite a bit and lamented the loss of the old ski show. It said that the new show has way too much talking and not enough action. I plan to get down there soon to check it out myself. -
On another positive for the passes, i have one, so when my family visit me, they go to the parks as well, something they wouldnt normally do.
-
I bit interesting to see what they wrote on their facebook announcement "What’s more, there are no block out periods during the holidays like our friends down the road and it's valid for a full 12 months. The $99 Annual World Pass offer is also available to all Australian and New Zealand residents not just us Queenslanders."
-
Do they hace a krispy Kreme bakery on the gold coast?
-
Hmmm, I thought this might happen eventually, but i didnt think they would cut it that far, perhaps offer a discounted platinum world pass. Even more interesting is that the pass has no blackouts, is vaild 12 months after purchase and available to ALL residents of Australia and New Zealand. Id image that this coming summer their wont be room to move in the park Interesting to see how Dreamworld is really ramping up the marketing machine, perhaps the profit fall while WVTP was increasing profits was the kick up the ass the park needed. HOPEFULLY this will lead to more attractions, however i fear that the $99 pass will influence more pay per go attractions And yes, the new ad campaign is rather good.
-
Mmmm, of the top of my head its like 10-25% off?? and whatever suits you, but for the discount it has to have been within 4 weeks, and if you go via the phone you still have to go to the park to get ur new card
-
You get a discount of the price of a new one if you renew within 4 weeks of your old pass's expiry, but you would do just as well to get the QLD VIP pass if you dont mind the blackout period (VIP passes have to be bought before the 20th Sept)

Seaworld and Wet n Wild to have a Dominos outlet
tolly1804 replied to DEAP's topic in Theme Park Discussion
My mistake with the dough, i do know of some stores that have used frozen dough... and for the record Eagle Boys don't charge extra for the change of base (unless you get a specialty one), and there is a noticeable size difference, by the way, the Wet n Wild Dominos store is in the final stage of the fit out -
Interesting doesnt have to = entertaining, and i myself did believe that planet SOS did fall into the entertaining factor, especially the 4d aspect of it

Seaworld and Wet n Wild to have a Dominos outlet
tolly1804 replied to DEAP's topic in Theme Park Discussion
I really dont want to get into a slagging campaign here, but their products belittle Dominos because they are promoting something dominos doesnt have...for example larger pizzas, freshly made dough, they make less of a cut from cheap tuesday then dominos does for providing a bigger product as well.... But anyway we should be thankful that there now is another option on the menu at the parks -
I'd imagine that they are still using the old maps

Well apparently more australian's prefer Eagle Boys... -
I went to Sea World with some friends today and it was a shock to see how much further the ride has slid, aside from the previous comments about the removal of fire at the end, it was a shame to see that they dont bother with the pre-show anymore (on that note they have replaced the tv with a projector), which leads to the fact that most of the speakers in the boats dont work anymore, which is a shame because they really did add to the theming. Also the screen that the rock cracks wasnt working, neither was the one in the room with the falling pillars (showing a glaringly obvious "No Signal") I had forgotten how good jet rescue was, and was pleased to be able to ride it a couple of times in a row as well. The new ocean rescue show is no where near as interesting as the planet sos 4d (which wasnt that interesting to begin with), and i overheard a few people complaining how it wasn't 4d as it said on the maps. The new show has no drawing power, and quite a few people walked out halfway through.

tolly1804 replied to DEAP's topic in Theme Park Discussion
I'd imagine that it will be in similar prices to the CatDog pizza shack at Dreamworld, but with decent pizza (if you can call dominos pizza that) -
I do believe that that small gag (the tyre) really seals the deal for me... its good that the show is changing for the better as well, its just a shame that they got rid of the two extra police cars, the action/ car chases just don't have the chaotic feel that they did when it first opened.
-
I know some people have families or friends up, but aside from that would any season pass holders really want to go during the busiest times, with hour long waits for all the rides??

Dreamworld attendance and revenue fall in 2009
tolly1804 replied to Parkz News's topic in Latest News & Updates
Or perhaps it could be the introduction of up-charge rides, with no substantial reason for interstate visitors to visit Dreamworld again
