  1. Hi guys. I'm trying to renew my VIP pass (actually 6 of them) on themeparks.com.au, but whilst it would let me buy a new one, it will not let me renew my existing ones (which is what I'm trying to do. Below is the VIP pass reneal page on themeparks.com.au, but there doesn't seem to be a button to actually purchase the renewal. There is a checkout button, but that just takes me to a page where I could buy a new VIP pass. Does anyone here know if there's a trick to this? Thanks in advance if anyone can help!
  2. This is exciting news! I really hope it does offer everything RCT3 did but more of it. I'm really looking forward to it.
  3. This may be a rather boring idea compared to some of the others above, but it's a practical one that I think is really needed, and wouldn't cost all that much but would make a massive difference to guests comfort. When the weather is hot (most of the time in the Gold Coast really) the concrete and brick paths can become very hot and uncomfortable to walk on. If these were all covered in any suitable material which stays relatively cool, it would just make walking from one attraction to another so much more pleasant!
  4. I really hope they don't fob us off with a fairground ride! As others have said, this is an exciting opportunity for Sea World to spend a bit of money, and cement their place as the number one theme park in Australasia for many years to come! What is needed in my opinion is a themed dark ride, which provides some thrills but doesn't make people nauxious, and (this bit should go without saying) has a "Sea" related theme to it. There are so many possibilities, and actually there's room for more than one such ride if the "Wild" attraction is now not going to happen (which I think would be good as it was never in keeping with the Sea World theme). Incidentally, I haven't posted in this forum for quite some time, due to quite a few members who unfortunately made it quite unpleasant for me to do so. However I am (and always will be) very passionate about theme parks, so I thought I'd give it another try. I'm hoping by now perhaps those people have found somewhere else to launch attacks on people they don't know, and that there are others on here who I can share my love of theme parks with in a fun way. We'll see! Oh, one more thing. Not quite related to this thread but just want to quickly mention that I have just discovered (by accident) that the Bermuda Triangle ride is still going strong! At Movie Park in Germany that is (formerly Warner Brothers Movie World Germany). The ride is almost the same as the one which was at Sea World Australia. Details at http://www.movieparkgermany.de/en/themepark/attractions POV video at
  5. Brad2912. What is the problem? All I have done is stated my opinion about some aspects of theme parks. May I remind you theme parks are all about FUN! Perhaps insulting people you don't even know might be you're idea of fun? Anyway I am not interested in hearing from people who are so disrespectful so I have reported your post and added you to my ignore list so I won't see any further comments you make.
  6. Just a quick question for anyone who might know. How many monorails are there at Sea World? I am sure there was 2 when I went in January but could only see one when I went a week or so ago. Also, I am fairly sure there was 3 a couple of years ago. Have they somehow lost one (or more) of them? If so does anyone know the story. I am pretty certain a few years ago there were usually 2 on the track, and one on the spare section of track that sits underneath the main track near the waterpark area.
  7. Looks good and I could easily imagine how it could turn out something very much like that. However I would ideally like to see more theming in it. For me any coaster type ride should be mostly about the themeing (with just a few thrills in terms of movement) because if the movement is too extreme I get motion sickness.
  8. Lockers $10 per day is a reasonable price. The thing is, I usually don't go for a whole day. I usually go for about 3 hours. $10 for 3 hours locker use is far too high in my opinion, and in fact I believe locker use should be free really (just with a refundable deposit of say $2 so that once someone leaves someone else can use the locker. Currently once I have hired a locker, I never press "end locker hire" when I leave purely on principle, because I have paid so much. This means the locker could be available for someone else to use but isn't. Yes, yes, I know that's my fault, but like I said when I have been ripped off $10 I feel like I should at least get to keep exclusive use of the locker for the whole day even if I'm not there! Give us the option to pay for just half a day for say $4, and I'll be reasonably happy.
  9. I would expect franchised restaurants in theme parks to charge a bit more than outside the parks, but only a bit more which should still work out better value than what's available now.
  10. Wet & Wild should definitely do something better with lockers. $10 to hire a locker is absolutely ridiculous! Also at the moment you have to go into the shop near the entrance to hire a locker, and I had to wait quite some time on a few recent occasions because the staff were busy serving customers who were buying photos and were taking ages to find and decide on which photos. Why not have a machine near the locker areas where you can pay, and make it a nominal amount or even a refundable deposit. Any shortfall could be made up for by increasing the price of VIP passes.
  11. Hi Guys. I've just returned from another brilliant trip to the Gold Coast. I was a little apprehensive about the weather but it turned out really great with the exception of the latter half of one afternoon when there was a severe storm. As it turned out that didn't spoil my holiday one bit though. While it's still fresh in my mind, and in no particular order, here are a few thoughts, ideas, and questions that occurred to me while I was there: [*]Sea World used to have a "Paradise room" buffet restaurant near the front of the park, but the stairs leading to this appear to have been blocked off and the area beneath it is now used as a VIP entry. Is the restaurant closed permanently, or is it still used at certain times? [*]If I were in charge of VRTP, I would seriously revamp the food outlets at all the Gold Coast parks. What's there currently is overpriced, unhealthy, and provides very limited choices. For these reasons I avoid it, and eat outside the parks, so VRTP loses potential income from me and I'm sure I'm not the only one. How about making the aforementioned Paradise room into a Sizzler. How about franchising food outlets to Nandos, Salsas, Oporto,Subway, and Boost (just to name a few) which can provide cheaper, healthier, tastier food options to guests. [*]Why are the spas at Wet & Wild closed off in the colder months? Isn't this the very time when more people would want to use them? [*]I am getting a bit concerned about the chairlifts at Sea World because every time I go there they seem to have several periods when they're closed. Is there something wrong with them? I certainly hope not because they and the monorail and two of the things I love most about the Gold Coast. However if the chairlifts ever did go I would definitely want them to be replaced with new chairlifts, as anything less would seriously detract from the value of going to Sea World for me. That said, they look like they're in very good condition and well maintained, so hopefully they'll be around for many years to come. I just worry when they're closed so often. [*]I'm not claiming to have all the details completely worked out for this, but I wonder if some sort of smartphone app could be developed to act in a similar way to how the Q4U system at Dreamworld works. With it being on smartphones, there would be no need to pay to hire a device and it could in theory mean that nobody need queue for more than say 10-15 minutes for any ride. That would certainly help guests pack much more into their visits to the parks, eliminate lots of wasted time queuing, and also potentially enable management to better manage the staffing and other operational needs of rides as they'd know how much demand there will be in the next hour, at least! [*]I'd really like to see better use made of the various buildings at Movie World, and especially the theatre where the Loony Tunes show is/was, and the area leading to Wild West Falls. It just seems like mostly wasted space!
  12. Can they build it in Adelaide please, and make the place more interesting!
  13. Interesting stuff. All sounds great, but I much prefer the Gold Coast where the parks are open all year.
  14. Interesting that they're only going to be open just over half the year. Wet & Wild manage to open all year round. Is the weather in WA really that cold in winter?
  15. One's advertised as "Storm" and the other as "Wild". I don't actually know exactly what either is, but as as I know Storm will be some sort of water-coaster (hopefully with an indoor component in what's left of the old Bermuda Triangle building).
  16. Oh. That seems strange to open it for only a year, but fair enough then I guess. I am certainly looking forward to the 2 new rides though.
  17. Why would Dinosaur Island close down when it's only just opened?
  18. Well they will need to change that attitude pretty soon if they want to be able to continue to compete with Village. I agree they seem to be miles ahead in the game. Shame though as good competition is an important thing, even if only to keep Village keen!
  19. If Ardent own all the M9 venues there's at least 2 but probably more of them in Adelaide. I wish they'd open a theme park here too then. However maybe they need to put a few things right at Dreamworld before they can think about opening a new park.
  20. Ahh thanks! That's a shame as I woudn't have minded a go on that and never did. Still though from the earlier posts in this thread it sounds as if maybe the attraction will still be more or less the same sort of thing when it reopens, just re-themed. If not, I am guessing it's not all that much different to normal laser skirmish? If so there's plenty of venues for that nowadays (even here in miserable Adelaide lol)!
  21. Could someone please let me know what APVX is?
  22. Some people will do anything to try for easy money. I would assume this silly woman didn't get anything for her troubles.
  23. In my view they should just increase the price of annual passes so that they don't need to cut costs in this way. I would not be happy to see any rides closing before the advertised park closing time. In fact I'd like it if they went a step further and had the parks open 11am to 6pm or even 7pm. That would give a lot more people the chance to have a quick visit to a park after work. The above times refer to weekdays of course. Weekends I think should probably still be 10-5 and school holidays should be something like 10am to 7pm (with ALL rides open).
  24. I'd prefer to see the venue used as it is, for a stage show. There's already a site where the Loony Tunes river ride was for a new ride, and if they really wanted to I think they could easily enough fit in at least one more somewhere in the park. The sound stage is a good venue as it is for a stage show. I liked it when it was actually used as a sound stage as part of the "behind the scenes tour".
