  1. That sounds pretty cool, and very different to anything I've seen before.
  2. No idea but I do hope they can make more use of the sound stage as it seems like a great, but largely wasted venue at the moment.
  3. Sorry to hear about your Dreamworld experience. I have only been twice myself so far so can't call myself an expert on Dreamworld by any means, but I am disappointed to hear some of the things going on there and it sounds like overall they need to learn a thing or two from their competitor. On the topic of food, I generally find that the food at all the Gold Coast parks is very poor as well as very overpriced. However I was pleasantly surprised when I visited Dreamworld in January that the food in my opinion was pretty good. We ate at the buffet restaurant not far from Wiggles World (sorry I don't know its name). It wasn't cheap (but neither are any of the other food outlets at any theme parks) but it was all you can eat and offered a pretty good range and quality. I would recommend that particular restaurant. Despite the above it was very quiet in there even though we went about 1pm in the school summer holidays!
  4. Well for what it's worth Jacob I appreciate the situation and thank you for the information.
  5. Neither could I, because I can just add those people to my ignore list now and never see anything else they write! As far as I'm concerned if people are rude to me then they're not worth my time.
  6. He'd be more than welcome to try to build something exciting in Adelaide. I really wish someone would.
  7. Didn't JacobSibbald say "That's all"? Don't take the bait JacobSibbald. This is just completely unnecessary and I can only imagine it is designed to stir up trouble, which again is completely unnecessary. I have now added reanimated and alex_1 to my "ignore users" list, as I just don't need to be dealing with such things..
  8. As a relatively new member of this forum, I am frequently put off posting by the often bitter and sarcastic tone of some posts. Also on occasions I have seen personal attacks on other members. What a shame, since we presumably all share a common interest in theme parks and fun. Perhaps I would suggest moderators might want to keep an eye on this, as I am probably not the only person who finds this off-putting. Sometimes, people may have heard something from a trusted staff member who is regarded as as a reliable source of accurate information. However the staff member may get in trouble is management becomes aware that they've released information that is supposed to be confidential. Therefore the information is shared anonymously to protect their jobs. If we are given information, perhaps we should just be grateful for it and accept it for what it is, rather than having a go at the member of the forum who was generous enough to share it. Come on guys. If theme parks can't bring people together as friends in a spirit of innocent fun, I don't know what can!
  9. I can't see any image there unfortunately jjuttp. I'll try again later.
  10. I like the idea of the action river, but I also love the lazy river at W&W Gold Coast just as it is. I love the way I can just relax on it as long as I like. However I do like the little thrill you get going under the waterfall. As long as the overall experience of the action river is similar in the sense that you can just lie back and do nothing for the most part, I'd like it (a lot)! No offence jjuttp, but Sea World isn't a zoo, so really can't be compared to San Diago zoo in my opinion. I absolutely love Sea World. It's my favourite part of the Gold Coast, and the Gold Coast is my favourite place in the world. In other words personally I'd much rather be at Sea World than at San Diago Zoo. However obviously if you like zoos then you might prefer San Diago zoo to Sea World.
  11. Unfortunately most forums get trolls on sometimes. I just can't understand what motivates them at all. Hopefully without people of that nature we can all enjoy friendly discussions about our favourite topic. FUN!
  12. Well it's special to me, but that's because I live in Adelaide!
  13. A fair enough point. However I still say a skycaster is far from crappy.
  14. No offence, but I am amazed anyone could regard a skycoaster as a crappy ride. I would be absolutely thrilled to have such a thing within an hour travel distance from me. Wow!
  15. Yes on review I agree $20 would be too cheap for a single admission. However maybe $69 would be too expensive, in comparison to the other price options we have both suggested. I would maybe split the difference and call it about $$45 for a single admission, and then leave all the other prices more or less as you said. Having the annual passes valid for a year from date of purchase would not only be fairer, but would avoid queues and pressure on staff resulting from loads of people getting the VIP passes as soon as the new ones become available (1 July) in order to get a full years value.
  16. They are available, but they are $129.99 for 28 days. Who in their right mind would buy one when for between $80 and $110 (depending where and when you buy one) you can get up to a whole year with the VIP pass. I say "up to" because the price remains the same whether you get a whole year or just one day. I would much prefer the passes to simply be valid for one year FROM THE DATE OF PURCHASE. For that matter, who would pay $83 (current internet price for adults at Sea World) for a single day admission to just one of the parks? It's probably more than that if you pay at the gate rather than online. I am all for offering people different options, but there really should be some significant difference between the prices in a way that's more fair. As a rough guide I would suggest perhaps something along the lines of: Single day admission to one park $20 (adult) 28 days to all 3 VR parks $100 (includes 10% discount on food and merchandise) Annual pass to all 3 VR parks $300 (includes early entry and 15% discount on food and merchandise) Annual pass to all 3 VR parks $350 (includes early entry, 20% discount on food and merchandise, plus 1 free entry into Australian Outback Spectacular, and each of the parks special events)
  17. Well they have to make money one way or another, but I don't like the idea of paying extra for lockers all the time, and certainly not at $10 like you do at W&W. It should be a higher price for the annual pass, and then cheap (say no more than $2) or free (deposit only) lockers.
  18. It would seem to me that once the new rides open where Bermuda Triangle was, there will probably be another way from that area into Seal Harbour. Then I would imagine the plan is that a lot of guests will use that as a way to walk through between the rides near the back of the park and the ones at the front. As a result if that is the case, Seal Harbour should become much more used. That may be a year or so off but it seems to be the plan I think.
  19. Me too. The current prices are far too low. The parks cost a lot to maintain and run, and to get decent staff you have to pay decent wages (something they're not currently doing and it shows sometimes). I would say if an annual pass for the 3 village parks was around $300 (plus options to pay extra if you want any special bonuses such as those already suggested), that would still represent amazing value for money. And I do mean amazing, not just quite good.
  20. But nevertheless it is their responsibility to read them, but assuming that they are clearly advertised and not 'hidden' in small print. In the case of the above pass suggestions, surely it would be spelled out in very very simple, clear terns on all advertising and on the website. If people then opt for a particular pass without bothering to read the very obvious information about what they're buying, well then I have no sympathy. If on the other hand they are sold in a misleading way and the specifics are only written in the small print, or on a website that they might not see, then that's different and they'd be entitled to a refund.
  21. I can't believe how fast this is happening!
  22. A couple of years ago the MyFun annual passes were plastic cards. I don't really know why they changed to cardboard ones except maybe in the hope some people would end up damaging them and throwing them away! Obviously it also reduces the cost of making the cards a bit. Having said that the plastic cards were printed on site at the parks as you waited so it wasn't that difficult.
  23. You're quite right. Adelaide will probably never be a fun place to live, let alone to visit. Unless your idea of fun is something very simple like golf or driving around looking at wineries and then no probs. I am hoping to move to the Gold Coast soon so that I can stop wishing I was somewhere better!
  24. Hmm. Looks like it would be quite good for little kids, but really of no consequence for anyone over the age of about 11. It's about time Adelaide started to get serious about tourism, but I doubt they ever will. The proposal is a complete joke compared to even one of the Gold Coast theme parks.
  25. I love rides like this and for me personally it adds a significant extra attraction to the Movie World experience. Have been on it 3 times so far and plan to do many more.
