Well you never know, this new ride could have dark ride elements like Journey to Atlantis at Sea World Orlando. Then it'd be a roller coaster/water ride/dark ride combo!

When I was there 2 weeks ago avalanche had been gutted, but the mountain was still there and didn't appear to be in the process of being demolished. I also noticed a sign on the dodgems saying "This attraction is closing soon to be replaced" or something. Anyone seen that?

Well they do seem to be keen on updating the park a bit and as you said, what better time to do so than their 100th anniversary?

Posted on Sea World's Facebook page, in the comments they also say that it'll be replacing Bermuda Triangle! Yay! Link: photo.php Obviously we all know that it's almost definitely a Water Coaster due to the statement released by Mack Rides, but it's great to see it confirmed!

"We are overflowing with Lunie vision for the Park, and there are definite changes happening at the end of the year! (Including a shake up to the Metropolis!) Keep patient, we promise it will be worth the wait!" Nothing's confirmed of course, but it's certainly a promising thing to hear (or read). I'm not sure what a shake up to Metropolis means, but hopefully that means it'll be gone for good and something new and shiny will take its place. Let the speculation begin!

I really think (or at least hope) that this will be built in Bermuda Triangle's building, almost as a "sequel" to the ride.

Not if it has breaks all the way down I know some S&S drop towers only reach 64kph from a height of 70m, what makes them so slow? Is it a controlled descent rather than a free fall drop?

It seems that out of nowhere, Sega Joypolis (an indoor amusement park in Tokyo) have built a LAUNCHED Gerstlauer spinning coaster with inversions!

Village Roadshow seem to be churning out new attractions at their parks! The eye looks more like a snake's eye than a crocodile's to me. That would be a much more plausible theme for a waterslide. From the report of it being 199m long I'm expecting it could be one of those "Watercoaster" type slides like the one White Water World has. That would be an awesome addition.

If a 120m drop tower only reached a speed of 85kph it'd be a pretty crappy drop tower

I'd rather Aussie World got a big fun (as many people have been saying) and Dreamworld got a full sized GCI, or, even better, an Intamin Prefab, considering how Dreamworld seem to be buddies with Intamin.

I think the funniest part of that Facebook post was when they said it drops at speeds up to 85kph. Sure you don't mean 85mph? I honestly cringe at every one of Movieworld's "Random rollercoaster" posts due to the inaccurate facts and descriptions often copied and pasted directly from wikipedia.

How many times has Six Flags taken something Dreamworld has and made it slightly bigger? Once, with Lex Luthor. And no, Superman Escape from Krypton does not count as both rides were announced, planned and built almost at the same time. TOT simply opened first.

I feel stupid for believing it for a second. There's no way Dreamworld would actually build a GOOD ride, let alone a high capacity one.

And I just find it funny that people are getting butthurt over Giant Drop finally losing it's record after 13 and a half years. Just saying...
