  1. https://www.instagram.com/tv/CTmJdY-HTTR/?utm_medium=copy_link Nice footage from the park.
  2. Nice to see ST has begun full circuit testing. In looking forward to seeing the spinning car in testing action. The layout looks good from the air, get a sense of where the queue will go had how the area might feel and look.
  3. Perfect storm, Not the standard cookie-cutter layout and includes visual/audio inside the main funnel. The fact this main funnel is enclosed also is a great addition as I feel you get “lost” within the moment. My honourable mentions are Funnel Web at Jamberoo, T5 at RWS and The Green Room at WWW.
  4. 100% accurate. The tractive effort is achieved by the weight of the locomotive on the railhead along with the good balancing of the locomotive on its suspension. I was unsure of the actual weight of the carriages but I assumed 5t. I wonder how many carriages the new consist will have?.
  5. It looks way too tight, the grade will also be much for severe from memory. If the diesel has had work done to its wheels then maybe it could take a tighter radius but still, man that's going to be a challenge. Even if they do turn the train around. I'm assuming these new carriages will be of aluminium/lightweight steel construction now to take as much load off the engine as possible.
  6. At a wild guess the old Rocky Hollow station area might become the new maintenance facility for the train. The other day in a video from a Youtuber they showed the point’s (switch) being craned out of the old maintenance area. They wouldn't do that if they didn't want to keep it. They looked like “standard” points to me. New map shows the new train route possibly. Seems it will go towards the old station then suddenly turn left.
  7. 1, Yes it would be different cause it would have Orphan Rocker. That's assuming it would have been kept up to date with safety standards, that's due exact reason it never opened tho. couldn't comply. 2, No, it's not a theme park. That's like saying Timezone is a theme park because its bumper cars and a simulator. 3, Scenic world won't add any more rides, they don't have any rides anyway. I see them adding maybe another attraction in the future. They could utilise a nice alpine coaster but, I see a lot of resistance from locals for such a development. You need to also know the Scenic Word is based within the National Park. So limitations could exist on what can and can't be done. They also don't have a super amount of space for anything major. Due to this also it's usual for the cable car rides to no operate until fog, wind or bushfires have ceased. Investing in any major side just wouldn't be worth it.
  8. Those two-person rafts are no heavier than the ones you'd find at Calypso Beach. I don't see the massive issue here personally. Keeps the cost down for the park, no need to worry about those conveyors jamming up or breaking down.
  9. Excellent photos, Interesting to see the translucent piece tho. I do hope no one gets, the "heebie jeebies" from walking up this tower tho .
  10. This area will indeed look amazing and have that fresh feel to it. Whitewater West do a great job when it comes to park design. The stuff they have done with parks in recent years shows. The shade will be a welcomed addition for anyone but mainly the families. The soft play floor will be great for littles ones feet, Much like at MW & SW in those splash pad areas. I am really looking forward to these slides. Super Ripper & Kaboom look like amazing raft slides with the later being a great hybrid water slide. I don't think the concept art will differ too much from the final product. As mentioned Whitewater West are really good at planning and delivering a product and project.
  11. Water parks really make these events worth wild. Having a live DJ is much better than crowd DJ, basic games like ring toss etc make it feel like a good event. Given this is the first time the park has been closed over winter an event like this will most definitely make the park feel different. I am all for this event, Given its a water park and most enthusiast don't like them I hope everyone here can appreciate the fact they are indeed thinking outside the box.
  12. Wild Mouse is only accessible by stairs. Same for Volarè, Rotor, Coney island slides, Coney island Turkey trot, Coney island Wonky Walk.
  13. Photo credit Luna Park Sydney I'm trying to figure out how the new entry/exit queues are going to work for BD. The first photo shows a new train sitting on track right in front of one set of stairs
  14. Some official news from the park's social media. https://www.instagram.com/p/CTLgNRXD_LY/?utm_medium=copy_link
  15. Two trains looking slightly different. One pays homage to the original big dipper, old school looking and yellow while the second train is red and pays respect to the Arrow coaster. Plain and is one would have been nice. If I wanted a car I would drive a dodgem car. Being the prototype tho they most likely had no choice and had to go with these generic trains anyway.
  16. Would get scuffed and scratched, over time for sure thanks to the rafts and foreign objects.
  17. I'd love for this event to go ahead, But even with the target of 70% of the NSW population vaccinated I don't see it going ahead yet. Different industries will reopen up at different times due to state government ruling. It happened last time and I can see that occurring again but on a much more drawn-out process. The park operated rather well (After NYE) with its covid safe plan and I visited once and things seemed in somewhat of an order. Moving forward tho, a public facility like this will have many challenges to overcome. Do they allow facemask to be worn on rides, will they only allow the vaccinated in, plus many more. Back to the event tho. LPS has been hit hard. In NSW it was the only park to run to the allotted session times until its closure earlier this year. I feel like, it could forsake Halloween and use those resources for a big grand "re-opening" of the park later in the year around December in my eyes. Bring in an Ice skating rink (Much like they did in the 2004/2005 Christmas break) in the BigTop along with all the new rides and you'd have yourself a decent holiday period. I know they want to have measures in place for the workers and limit amount of guests going through a maze. We just have to look north to Movieworld and see they cancelled fright nights for financial reasons and most likely thanks to guest/workers safety. They did that in a state with no major (Plaque) issues, unlike NSW who has well, an interesting time ahead.
  18. Possibly some waterproofing or taking out some of the concrete to help make the waves a little better at a wild guess. Most likely tho the wave machine has been serviced and the protective grates (on the back wall) have been repaired or replaced also.
  19. The ones from the back side of the park (Showing harbour) come from either a private office building car park or the LPS/Multiplex office building public viewing balcony.
