  1. The new 7 million dollar Tiger Island refurbishment is "debacle". I really doubt you have even seen it. The area looks stunning and theming looks amazing.
  2. Are people forget how good DW did with their TI development and theming? DW are doing big projects and spending money on making massive improvements and the theming standard on TI is outstanding. DW just have not been spending their money on a new roller coaster or new rides lately because they believe they will have a better return from what they are doing now. But it will be interesting to see what they do with the massive section of he park which is SNBO.
  3. Interesting to see the claw has reopened yet the shockwave is still closed. I believe that ocean parade will be opening up within the week. So either tail spin or wipeout will be next. Followed by HWSW or shockwave. interesting to note DW's website yesterday said 28 rides open but today says 27 despite the claw being added to the list. I think attendance will increase over the next week as more thrill rides come online. We now have 3 of 9.
  4. It's complete comoflaged now. ??
  5. I personaly think TOT, GD and BuzzSaw will open last. Considering Buzzsaw is very close to TRRR. However from GD and TOT you would be able to see TRRR and I think DW might want to keep TRRR out of view.
  6. Did it occur to anyone that Mark got another job offer which he wanted to take?
  7. Sorry I meant to say that MDMC was a Family coaster not Shockwave. However some theme parks "Cedar Point" count rides like these as roller coasters. But save that debate for another time.
  8. I am surprised they opened Pandamonium first. I would have thought MDMC and Shockwave would have been first then Tail Spin. Since Shockwave is a family coaster and lets face it MDMC is not far of.
  9. ^To add to that: 2015: Rebuilt the bumper boats and themed water slides in Nautical land. Resulting in reached capacity and had to stop ticket sales. 2016: They rebuilt the carpark and made a season pass holders only carpark and entrance. With a re-theme of Inferno and a renovation to the cafe. They also closed down the paddle boats and made a massive new grass area. Plus added circus Extreme for summer, Increased attendants for Fright Nights and are launch Summer nights this year 2017 and beyond: Plus MI3 and whats in the 5-10 year plan in the future. All the best of luck in the future @Mark Shaw and hope to see you work your magic on other theme parks.
  10. HE would mostly mean that the track was made this year and maybe a little into next year. But the bulk would have been made already.
  11. Look what I happened to stumble across. http://www.watoday.com.au/wa-news/mystery-surrounds-departure-of-successful-adventure-world-boss-20161217-gtdbma.html
  12. @AlexB I was responding to @Levithian's question saying that they already do enough maitenance cheeks and stuff to ensure the rids are safe. All I am saying is that you can always make stuff safer. Think of the hierarchy of control. OHS use this for any hazard. Every time at TAFE I do something (Electrical industry) we have to fill out Hazard control sheets. Where we have to identify EVERY possible hazard including tripping over the carpet, back pains, someone crashing their car into the construction site (It has happened to the Masters construction site in Joondalup) So my point is a theme park or even any industry can always make changes to anything to make it more safe. I whole heartedly believe and know theme parks are safe and that TRRR and GL accidents were freak accidents and are not the parks fault. I personally believe that DW with all the work they have been doing in safety at the moment has made it one of the safest parks out there. But my point is that if MW wanted to make more safety improvements. Like what they did at DW with little minor things to change. OHS and people can always find something to change.
  13. I was looking at the website like 5 minutes before you posted this and it said closed. So it must have been up for only a mater of minutes.
  14. However @Levithian you can never be to safe. You can always do more cheeks, more in-depth and multiple times. Look how in-depth DW are going by having multi level audits, reviews and checking over every piece of equipment at the park multiple times by different people, (Safework, External companies and Dreamworld)
  15. Sorry @themagician I thought you were going by the pictures. I agree with you on that information. 2 days to install and test a ride does not seem like anywhere near sufficient.
  16. I wouldn't ask MW to re-theme SDSC because they will re-theme it to DC.
  17. Remember these pictures were taking on the 7th of December. It is now the 16th of December. @themagician you commented on the photos over a week after they were posted. So one would assume that the bulk of the slide would be completed now as slides that are put into large sections on the ground don't take long to get put together.
  18. I think this has more to do with the TRRR incident. I think either MW are making changes to the ride as extra safety processions, safe work told them to make changes or MW have decided to go through each ride and do a complete maitenance cheeks IE taking the ride cars apart completely, inspectioning every inch of the track and pieces and so on. Considering what happened at DW I would assume every park (Australia wide) will be ensuring nothing happens like this again.
  19. @Jamberoo Fan there is one under construction at Ferrari World and has been under construction for over a year.
  20. I highly doubt a ride would take 2-3 years to build. Plus SW would not be getting anything to the scale of the new roller coaster at MW. If they are going for a 2019 Boxing Day opening I would say deconstruction of the log flume would start I would say from mid to late 2018.
  21. @YLFATEEKS I was just about to post that number. You best me to it.
