  1. Ok, I'm interested to see how many actors they've got in there this time since I recall reading it was a pretty poor effort last time they ran the maze during the daytime.
  2. What @Theme Park Girl said Couldn't have been more direct Kevil Hill is open again, if anyone's down at the park before I can get there can anyone confirm if it's gone back to the maze and not laser tag?
  3. This is shocking news... by the looks of things they've turned it from one of Australia's best coasters into a wild mouse in a shed. They definitely need some sign saying it's under refurbishment, I'm sure even the GP would notice how awful it looks in there and pick up on something being wrong. Imagine if it was your first time riding and you were expecting the elaborate theming all your friends told you about then are met with temporary fences and dark walls...
  4. Anyone at the park today? How are the crowds? dear god am I starting to sound like POP
  5. I like the idea, but it doesn't really fit into Wet n Wild...
  6. Didn't do anything different this year, and the only parks I got to were DW/MW/WWW, but here are my top 5 just for good sake (if I go any further we get into rides that don't deserve to be on any 'top 10' list) 1. Superman 2. ToT 3. Arkham 4. Buzzsaw 5. Scooby
  7. Yes because they definitely inspected all the rides without leaving the park.
  8. That's great, definitely will try to get back down next week now that a few more rides are open. I assume by then one or two more will be open too.
  9. I like the idea of the plants, real plants look a lot nicer than a bunch of printed leaves stuck onto a fence.
  10. Interesting, perhaps our predictions that it will open last aren't going to be true after all. No sign of activity from ToT though? Pity they're leaving the best ride in the park until the end if that's the case.
  11. Glad Claw is open, I think it will definitely draw more crowds to the park now being one of the more popular rides there.
  12. ^This Tiger Island was Disney-level theming. If they continue like this they'll easily be rivalling MW within a few years - not in terms of coasters but at least in terms of the theme park experience you get when you feel completely immersed. I would like to see them do something similar to the gold rush area when they have plans to open new rides (doesn't really matter if it's a revamp or a retheme - I'd just like to see some great theming in that section of the park). Then again, if Movie World do the same thing as they did with Doomsday to this coaster, Dreamworld might have a hard time catching up. Regardless, I think we'll be seeing some pretty amazing theming at the gold coast theme parks over the next 5-10 years. Storm, Doomsday, and TI have all been top-notch theming and it looks like its going to continue. Do the same stuff you've been doing and I'll be happy
  13. Soundsgood Why do you have to "inquire within" though? So it's not a separate queue?
  14. Exciting times for movie world, obviously, but especially exciting for Dreamworld. So much they can do in the next few years and it's very exciting to see how they play with the opportunities they have. You don't necessarily need to be building a hypercoaster for something to be 'exciting'. Opportunities for big things are just as exciting as actual big things happening. Same all goes for Sea World too.
  15. The exterior does look like its pretty much finished, but I have no clue how long it takes to do all the work on the interior.
  16. Buzzsaw will be last I think, especially since they had those modifications to make as well. Hopefully all the major rides will be open by the new year though, I'm thinking we'll see Ocean Parade fully open by boxing day, and the rest progressively open the week after.
  17. I think something would have to go horribly wrong for it to open after the end of the school holidays. I think it could easily be open before the new year.
  18. It looked like the oldest slide in the world in places
  19. I don't think the pink has anything to do with it - there are barely any pink superheroes. Very excited Looking forward to more announcements soon
  20. I can kinda see what they're doing now that I've thought about it - they're opening the tame rides first (Pandamonium has soft style, Motocoaster is probably the tamest thrill ride apart from Tail Spin) - not only for what @red dragin said about opening the "non-dangerous" rides first, but also because those are the rides that cater to families who already have a few rides that cater to them open - having one or two super-high thrill rides open probably won't attract too many people. I might be completely wrong, but I'm guessing that Tail Spin and Shockwave will be the next two rides to open (although Tail Spin was looking very dead today - at least the little turbine things on Shockwave's queue were spinning).
  21. Out of all the fantastic rides at DW like ToT, Giant Drop and Claw, they decided to open the one that isn't so fantastic : ( Well, better than only Pandamonium open I guess (or maybe it's not for some of you!) Honestly I'm quite surprised this is open so early - if they're opening them up after safety checks I would think that they'd do all the flat rides first since the safety checks are probably less complicated - and even out of all the coasters, MDMC's restraint system probably more involved than ToT's or HWSW's.
  22. Anyone fancy a jump from the tower? I would recommend to stick to the similar but much safer experience next door at aqualoop
