  1. April 6th is the latest update, which was posted a few pages back
  2. The Giant Drop has been in testing this morning
  3. I don’t like they’ve gone with the VRTP name promotion either, but they’ve been doing it for a few year’s now, so it seems like it’s going to stay. It’s the same with the staff uniform. I much preferred when each park had their own uniform, it looked better and was a much better fit for the style/theme of the park. The polos aren’t appealing at it for me
  4. Good to hear though that the vortex is 80% complete, which will hopefully mean it will be ready to open in time for the park reopening
  5. I think what they meant was the containers are being sent back to Brisbane once the track is unloaded Since the GCB reported on it
  6. @Dwfan awesome find and based off those sections I like to look of the station. Good to see rather than just a boxed building there is some aesthetic detail to it
  7. And here it is. So far there are 9 pieces in the carpark, with two more viable in a shipping container.
  8. I know some the students who put that document together (that was shared by @Rydah Hi) and they said at the time they received the plan, they were told it was pretty much exactly what was going to be constructed (in regards to pathways and some of the details shown). Some thematic elements aren't shown due to their scale. The archway we've seen at entrance will also be around the Trident/Leviathan area. There is a viewing deck at the left area of Leviathan, and the entrance path and queue area will snake around the coaster. It is possible that the area for Trident will have some preparation, but if the ride is delayed further, we won't be expecting too much activity. This is my speculation, but maybe the area of land to the right of Leviathan is for a possible area expansion (maybe a 4th attraction) in the future.
  9. While this project by Griffith students does not confirm every aspect on the new area and some elements are likely to change, one interesting part states So it seems likely that the monorail is closed for good, despite my original comments/post being shut down by VRTP
  10. That’s a pretty good touch, a lot better than just plain white concrete
  11. I’m familiar with that project as I had some connections with it. This was only a student group proposal of design ideas and concepts. The floor plan is real (but has seen changes), most other elements within the report are just analysis and design ideas. It isn’t a final indication of what the area will be like upon completion
  12. I would say Castaway Bay is a cinematic level (not so much the new expansion) and Bermuda definitely was too, but if this is the final product, I don’t think it’s halfway to being at a cinematic level
  13. It’s a shame when they were making statements like this But from the small amount of things we’ve seen so far, it doesn’t look like that’s what we are getting
  14. What looks disappointing is the queue area. The shade structure doesn’t look like anything special, when I feel like they could have done some interesting for work to create to columns and the roof to be something like what they did with Doomsday.
  15. The statue looks awesome, as they always do. I just hope they fill the area with varying plants to make it immersive and feel like your in another world
  16. @joz maybe 2000 then. What would you say an average crowd would be on a normal weekend?
  17. Couldn’t agree more @joz. Those numbers are insanely high and why have those limits when they aren’t going to get those crowds day 1 anyways. I would imagine on a standard weekday they’d only get around 1000 people. So why not start off with that as a limit, to trial the ways social distancing have been implemented across the park. Then increase it every month.
  18. Much like the days when every time a ride had an emergency stop (for whatever the reason may be) someone would take a photo and send it to the media. Thankfully those days are long gone
  19. They say those numbers, but I doubt they’ll reach them when it’s only locals visiting them. I think opening SW first as a test (with its less number of rides), show everyone how they will implement everything and if that goes smoothly, then a month later open MW with reduced capacity, and gradually increase the limit as allowed. I can’t see them having full capacity by September, but definitely by December
  20. @Brad2912 the original concept video showed fountains
