  1. Good to hear everything is working well then
  2. I'm thinking the monorail will just be running parallel to the coasters framework, but will definitely be closed for most of 2020
  3. @Brad2912 next time I’m there I’ll take another look and figure out what I saw
  4. @Brad2912 I’m pretty sure it hasn’t been entirely removed, because I was there the other day and I’m pretty sure just to the right of your image is another detonator that’s on an angle and higher up
  5. I wouldn’t be surprised if the clips they have been using for the coaster were done by @docoaster
  6. @Slick do you know if the model of the area is remaining in the park for public viewing, and if so, where?
  7. I agree, but unfortunately with the current placement and that areas usage for the lake show. It wouldn’t work. The parks entrance was never designed for traffic flow both ways, and it would definitely require a lot of reworking and construction for that to happen
  8. I would say COTD is already closer forever. Considering the works already happening and it says on the attractions page that it is closed until further notice (but not listed on the maintenance page) it has officially closed already
  9. The one thing I hope for is that all the theming and more is added that we can see in that concept artwork and they don’t start cutting costs
  10. Wow wow wow. Awesome to see SW going all out and finally making use of all that new land they reclaimed years ago (but it seems like even more will be reclaimed). I think the theme is great and the choice of rides works very well. I am a bit unsure of the top spin placement, but good to see they are adding in a sheltered area for viewing the dolphins. Could this mean the talk there is going. Obviously COTD is going, but will tie into the theming of this new area Never thought we would see a wooden coaster, which is great and it looks like a real good one, but also unsure about the backwards seating And replacing sky flyer with something permanent, great decision
  11. Oh yeah, I just can’t read. Definitely not carpark
  12. Well I didn’t expect it all to go in the carpark considering all the land they’ve reclaimed. But knowing the GC Bulletin, they might not actually all be in the carpark
  13. More plants have now been added and the car has returned
  14. @westical It will have the capacity to store 4 helicopters @pushbutton maybe the current space will be utilised for new purpose/s and to access the helicopter tours, you no longer enter the park. A couple years ago when I had the experience with a friend, we had repurchased the experience, but my friend didn't have a pass, so we entered the park backstage to actually get to the entrance/lockers. So maybe they will be trying to avoid this and will enable for all additional experiences (helicopter, whale watching, cruises, tours, etc) to be accessed in the one area
  15. Recently quite a large area of SWs carpark was fenced off, and from the recent nearmap update (May 7), we can see that construction has begun. I'm not sure if council applications for this can be found, but I can confirm that this area of the carpark will feature an all new helicopter hangar/centre for the park and is due to be completed later this year
  16. I know VRTP do those events, but they don’t constantly have something going. Lately DW had Cosentino, now ABC Kids Month, next Winter thing
  17. It would definitely be awesome for DW to hold a new world record if they changed the GD to a system like Falcons Fury. But to anyone who has more knowledge at this, would it actually be possible? Is there something particular about the towers structure that wouldn’t make it possible to change the GD? And would this require a complete track change as well, because that could be costly and the park may not see that as worthwhile (I definitely do think it would be) I would love to see a coaster we haven’t see in Australia before. Two types that come to mind are either a Dive Coaster or a Flying Coaster. Personally I think a Dive Coaster would be the best option for DW and could potentially fit into the Gold Rush theme. There is plenty of land available there and would be very unique.
  18. Good to see that the park is continuously got events happening at the park. Universal and Disney constantly have things happening as is part of the reason why people go back so much. VRTP don’t do anything like this, so it’s something that could make a trip to DW more exciting and to give reason to keep going back as well
  19. @Slick billboard update: One side has now been changed to advertise the new tiger cubs
  20. The cubs are now on show to the public in the tiger island nursery
  21. Over the Summer I got to visit Abu Dhabi, and while unfortunately I didn't have enough time to enter the parks, I did make the stop to check out the entrance and foyer area for the park. The entrance I thought had a very good design and style to it, and I will definitely visit the park properly next trip over there. But for now, here are some photos:
