DC Rivals HyperCoaster construction discussion
themagician replied to Richard's topic in Theme Park Discussion
When walking through the queue area of GL, I had a look through the fence back at the area on the side of the stream where we'd spotted markers, and there are a lot more than I first though. At least a dozen, maybe even two dozen could be seen. -

If I didn't know that was real, I would've thought it was photoshopped. -
I'd just like to say from my trip to the park this morning, the staff were very efficient with the loading and off loading of GL and SE. They were very quick, didn't mess around, and didn't have trains waiting in the station too long before they unloaded/loaded it again.
-
Thanks for clarifying that @joz. I'm really intrigued by the train bridge scene. Is there actually a train going over? Or have they just enhanced what was there before?
-
And it does it live up the standard you were hoping for, or do you feel like they could've done more?

Here is a comparison of how dirty the mountain had gotten. Photo taken August 2015.

Doomsday Destroyer - reviews and feedback

Maybe it was the way I explained it, but I thought it was pretty efficient, because it meant everyone's loose items were out before they got to the loading bay. -

Wow wow wow wow wow. I've just been through the area and on the ride. And it all looks great. Can't wait to see the full reveal. Some things I noticed or will mention. A corner of the shop was sectioned off, more from what we saw the other day. DD did only have one mode of operation. And people asking about how loading works, as I joined the queue I was given a small basket to put loose items in. When at the loading area, you are assigned a colour on either side of the ride. The seats of the ride had a coloured square, which meant that was where you sat. The very middle seats have a height maximum of 170cm. When boarding you walk down the ramped floor to your seat, put the basket in a storage box to the side where the floor doesn't collapse in. And then off you go. One thing I think they need to do, is turn the volume on the TVs on the queue down a bit, because you could hear them over some of the sound in the area. Unless they've just done that until it fully opens. Thought the ride was really fun, and would happily ride it again on my next visit, but maybe not more than once at time. I feel sick after the claw and Pandamonium, this wasn't too bad. Did hear someone say, that could've been a lot more thrilling. But I think that they needed a ride to appeal to more people, and this does that. Well done to MW. -
Arkham Asylum - VR coaster at Movie World

There was a sign in AA today saying that the ride would be undergoing testing using the VR system. And i saw Greg entering the AA area, assuming he was checking it out. -
Just asked and they said they are hoping within a couple of hours, but as @Theme Park Girl said, they aren't 100% sure
-
It is opening today, but they said not until this afternoon.
-
I do hope that from the rumours we've heard that they have added some new effects that improve the whole experience. From what we've seen from the mountain and the work to the surrounding areas, it does seem promising, so fingers crossed. Im heading to the park tomorrow, so I'll get to find out.

Thanks for that info @JaggedJanine. From what I've heard so far from people, it isn't too intense of ride, so probably wouldn't be a point to multiple ride modes. Unlike Pandamonium, where i think it definitely needs to offer two modes. -

Were there any signs of multiple queue lines for different cycle speeds/rotation of arms? -

So far, I love it all. The only thing I wish/hope they do was they boxed off those roller doors in the shop, because I think it slightly ruins the the effect of the smashed walls. I know they need them there, but surely they could cover them up. It's only a minor thing really, compared to what they have done with the whole area. -

And some parts of the area still have fencing around them while finishing touches happen. -

Some of the fencing/wrapping was taken down towards close this afternoon, so there could be a chance that it will have a soft opening from tomorrow, if not maybe even along side the reopening of WWF. -

As long as if you arrive at the park at around 5, you'll skip all the traffic trying to get in. -
Could this be a scare zone for FN's maybe and the main way to get to the new mazes...

Agreed @Santa07, those links to JL and MRT are a brilliant touch. That's understandable @Theme Park Girl, after all that they've spent in the rest of the area ? But in seriousness, I really hope that the Doomsday figure will have smoke coming out of his mouth/noise or even better fire. -

That last photo I find a lot funnier than what it probably should be. But thanks again for the photos update. -

Bloody hell. It is seriously getting better and better everyday. The amount of detail and extra little touches they are adding are beyond what i'd thought MW would do. Like painting the side of the sound stage, adding those extra elements to the shop, and really making the area look like villains have attacked the area. Thanks for the pics @Theme Park Girl. Has that JL sign replaced the Scoob-Doo one, can't remember where it was positioned? -
