  1. A 4D Freespin or a 4th Dimension Coaster? I've only ridden the original 4th Dimension Coaster X2 and it's a wild ride and wholely unique, but I feel it would be too dividing on the Australian scene as it's truly an enthusiast coaster. The 4D Freespins seem to get decent reviews, especially the newer ones, but I feel for the small footprint Coasters more people are positive about the Premier Sky Rocket II's
  2. Yeah a few months ago I saw a picture floating around of the new boats, we talked about it a few weeks ago on the Theme Parkcast episode about the ride. I'll see if I can remember where I saw it and post it if I can find it again!
  3. Did Movie World get a great deal with a sign printer or somethign? Why are they replacing their old 3D signs with these new flat ones...
  4. For me it's not necessarily that it isn't themed, it's just that it is themed to a car for some reason. Even if it was just a nice red colour or something that would be better than this weird look. I would argue where Big Dipper is going to be located is the best themed area of the entire park:
  5. My worries were we would just get the generic trains, those worries turned out to be true... It doesn't really make sense to have a racing/car-themed coaster in your 1920's Boardwalk Theme Park, especially when the queue enters through a Taj-Mahal inspired structure.
  6. In a surprising move Luna Park Sydney is still currently moving forward with it's plans for this year Halloscream event and has recently opened auditions up for Scare Actors. Event is featuring 3 scare mazes, two returning from last year including Decay Mart and Outback Slaughterhouse and a brand new maze ‘Rain Dead’ themed as "a near-future world where a secret facility is testing the effects of a deadly rain, the invisible enemy!". Seems crazy to me that they're still pushing ahead with rehearsals set to start on October 8th and the event running for 10 nights from the 22-31st of October.
  7. Pretty much of all the info such as wait time predictions etc is free and built into Genie, the Genie + service is the paid option which allows for the ride bookings/photopass photos at Disneyland and some audio tour of the park by Imagineers (OH BOY!). VRTP will also charge you $20 to get on Rivals once and $40 for ride photos for a day so not a clear like to like comparison.
  8. The few times I've used Maxpass across multiple times of the year it was great, could essentially be ready to ride any attraction in the time it took you to walk over to it, but it was the inclusion of rides such as Space Mountain, Radiator Springs racer etc that made it worth the $10-15 a day that we paid. It looks like genie will nudge you towards certain attractions at certains time of the day but it's not going to force you to do them you can still pick what you want to use your Genie+ benefit of Lightning Lane on (God the naming is almost as bad as Fastpass + as part of My Disney Experience). The big thing is going to be availability, will it still be 75% of attraction capacity dedicated to them? If so it seems buying it would be able to get on more of the non-headliners than you could with FP+ because if even one guest doesn't buy it that's less than the amount that had FP+. For something they clearly want to launch within the next 6 weeks before the 50th there's so many questions still up in the air and so many secrets up Mr Chapeks sleeve. Even stuff like only being able to have 2 per day of the single use passes for the premium attractions seems strange in a Chapek era. Maybe the ridiculousness of the Paris system was to get people to expect the worst for the US based parks and now go "Eh could be worse" when they announced this.
  9. 6 hours is an insanely short operating day for a park like Movie World on the weekends.
  10. VRTP really love their "announcements" of things coming from private messages sent to guest services hey...
  11. If Luna Park somehow operated their Halloween event last year anything is possible! (Even though I'm not holding my breath about it)
  12. Disney and Universal charge a premium price for a premium product, but it's disingenuous to imply that they are the only ones capable of recieving a good product for the price especially with how much more expensive their stuff always ends up. Something like Symbolica at Efteling cost around 1/4 of what it's costing Disney to build a clone of Ratatouille at Epcot, does this make the Rat ride 4 times better? Look at what Phantasialand is doing with similar attendance numbers to Movie World. To give SeaWorld a knock because of that sorry excuse for theming isn't because anyone expected it to be Disney calibre, it's been they advertised it so much, hyped it up so much and will continue to do so as long as everyones opinion is "Ehh it's an Aussie park we expect them to be rubbish so we're willing to accept rubbish".
  13. On-board audio when done well is spectacular. It's why Space Mountain at Disneyland is so much stronger than Tokyo Disneyland even though they're the same layout. It's what turns Rock n Rollercoaster from an Ehh ride to a fun coaster for me. California Screaming, Incredicoaster, X2, Rip Ride Rockit, Hollywood Dream The Ride are all better in my opinion with their on-board audio than the would be without it. Just because it's been done poorly in Australia doesn't mean it's a poor idea to me.
  14. Disney Parks' forums if you weren't allowed to mention Bob Chapek by name
  15. I've finally figured out what "World Class" means to Australian theme parks, a ride that had classmates all around the world that recieve almost identical results to them!
  16. So even though you don't work there anymore and weren't told this when you did work there, you would be breaking your NDA not the friends who currently work there... right...
  17. Won't be themed as well as it's brother, why even bother... The ride looks to have nicer theming and integration than Rivals, and with the way people treat that like the second coming of Coaster Jesus it shows that Australian's don't care too much for theming on the big mess of steel Thrill Coasters.
  18. By 2032 VRTP might have finally made that big announcement that's coming "soon"!
  19. Come on man, that's not fair. It could have been the backstage friend of the Gamesite Prawn, he's been pretty lonely lately!
  20. Company executives have been touting a "Big announcement!" coming soon for months now, hopefully soon is almost here.
  21. I honestly thought with no announcement or construction progress midway through July the event had been quietly cancelled but looks like Fright Nights will go ahead this year!
  22. The audio alone of that video is heartbreaking when you know the outcome. The last few weeks we have seen a lot more incidents in Theme Parks than normal and it's a worrying trend.
  23. And the posts mere minutes before of him driving over the Sydney Harbour Bridge are also actually about his daily commute, one that a few days ago he wasn't able to do because of the stay-at-home order according to Instagram
  24. I too go excercising to a completely out of the way private carpark during a stay-at-home order!
  25. We want something like this. Here's $7.50 on a Bunnings gift card, make it happen!
