  1. On a side note, there's a ride very similar to Creature Cruise at the Pig Pineapple, but rather then being themed to animals, its themed to plants. Exciting stuff too, the ride was that bad that is worth twice the admission price. Also don't forget that Creature Cruise went past a Couger display, which was meant to give the ride some appeal.
  2. I think its a great idea, and will really come in handy for the parades. I just think it looks a touch ugly sitting there, and the Daily Planet should've been redone to make it fit in. Its only a minor quibble though.
  3. Thats why the ride is being built so cheaply for those that are interested.
  4. Evan - $300 sounds like quite a bit just for transport and taxes, how much did the kit itself cost? Put please, post some pics, those coaster dynamix kits look really cool.
  5. The soundstage is just about done, the main construction you saw is, I believe for Outback Spectacular. One thing you guy may be interested in knowing is that Warner Village Theme Parks don't operate the resort. We do cooperate with certain things, but Seaworld Nara has its own Human Resources, its own Union agreement, its own training standards and what not. In my time at the parks, I have only been into Nara once, and that was for a training session for theme park staff, given by theme park staff. Its major refurbishment was more a less just replacing all the beds in the resort, a few paint jobs and that sort of thing. BTW Scott, Megan says shucks.
  6. Anything thats better then Creature Cruise. I can't think of a single water ride for Dreamworld. Really, the dark water ride is really the only thing they don't have but where could you put one? Perhaps a Spongebob themed dark water ride in Nick Central behind the Bumper Bowl (or what ever its called these days), though thats almost too similar to the Looney Tunes darkride in Looney Tunes Village at MW. Hmm, I've kinda drawn a blank here, can you believe it?
  7. Thanks for the support man Yeah Cork is parked manually, and most ops get it parked right first, if not second time. Cyclone on the other hand is all computer controlled, and last time I went on it took 6 times to park it right. I'll be sure to pass on the kudos to Gresham and Megan. Which day was it that you visited? Glad you had a good day in any case
  8. The 911 version. As a theme park song it works, but the thought of that song being written not for a theme park kinda scares me.
  9. I've always wondered, was that song written for Wonderland, or did it just happen to be a song about 'a' Wonderland?
  10. Well since this mentions the ride stranded riders 60 feet in the air I'd say it was in the boomerang element.
  11. I'm not sure if this is the same ride type, but Miceage has a review of Crush 'n' Gusher at Typhoon Lagoon here. Looks like a really interesting concept. Hopefully it'll catch on.
  12. Because they've got Eagle Boys there.
  13. So I'm guessing you work at Luna Park pause break?
  14. This ride to me looks like a mixture of the best elements from Scooby Doo (the themeing) Xcelerator (the launch), and the Superman hypers (the airtime). Forgive me for asking, but whats not to like guys?
  15. I think the other thing you've missed is Superman is probably one of the best value new rides in Australia since Viking's Revenge. Superman is pretty darn good "Bang for your buck" already, and I'm not sure how you'd get a better ride for cheaper (Or how they even got Superman that cheap). As for the topic, well, der Dreamworld is going to get new stuff in the future on Thunderbolt's site. Probably in the future they'll be something better then Superman, but I don't really see the value in getting all excited about it now. Wait till you open this years Xmas present before worrying about the year after.
  16. Why not just put another row of seats on the North side, speed up the elevators of the other two and fully staff the ride?
  17. 30 Hectares doesn't sound like much. In all its 74.13acres, enough to make a park as big as Disneyland in Cali, but with no parking, hotels or other amenities that come standard with every Disney theme park. Even so, it should be quite an interesting story to follow.
  18. I think the term "Eventually" tells you something. It sounds as if the park has removed the ride with no replacement rides in mind. Fair enough too, it required 5 operators over the course of the day, wasn't very popular, and was potentially dangerous. Last time I was there it was closed until 11 (approx.) and closed by 4. As a transport system it was redundant, and as a ride it was pretty ordinary.
  19. That sex for Dummies book looks strange: Werid stuff there. On the Wonderland stuff, yeah already sold. ING own the site, so I doubt anyone would be looking at buying it, least of all Disney who have never bought a second hand park and probably never will. Also Disneyland is an asset of Disney, not a seperate company. Thanks for the laugh though.
  20. Adam - Reptar is basicly an inverted Road Runner. Exact same layout, though Reptar is slower and only has one train. Nice fun ride, and less intense then Road Runner.
  21. I was talking about Reptar
  22. Its too new to be replaced already, and it is popular enough. Without knowing it sounds like an unexpected mechanical fault, but I was hopeing one of the DW regulars might know more...
  23. I dunno, the thing about that ride is been a bit redundant for a while now. Its transport ride that replaces a 5min walk with a 10min ride, so as Transport its not really necessary. Add to that its labour intensive to operate and I'm guessing expensive to insure, so its really an ideal candidate to be removed.
  24. This from the Dreamworld website: Any Dreamworld regulars know whats going on with Reptar, and if thats all she wrote for Skylink?
  25. I always thought a cool idea would be to have a large scale dark ride in the middle of a CBD (in an old carpark or something). Something like Bermuda or Gremlins in the middle Brisbane (Or even Surfers) would do so well, you'd probably be able to get $20 a ride without too much difficulty.
