  1. Used to be a really busy servo that one - the bypass has hit it bad. I wonder if there are plans for a few servo's on the next stage, as there aren't any on the actual highway from Beerburrum north at the moment. Gympie is our first driver swap point if we head north.
  2. I think the concern is the guests rather than the machinery.
  3. Yeah, it was just Joker (Mark Hamill) talking on the lift hill. Only heard it a few times.
  4. I think the vertical part has been removed to repair/inspect the track brace (the rust covered one) where it attaches to the track. If you look at the other vertical parts, there are clamps on the track braces, but there are none at this location. The vertical part has just been tilted out of the way.
  5. Yep, the guy who spreads the mulch called in sick this week.
  6. Here, just pop this pill before you ride to experience "a whole new kind of Virtual Reality".
  7. For me, not just his shirt, but the belittling way in which they pronounced "Rodney".
  8. Two cases on the Gold Coast (linked to the corrections outbreak) but they where out in public as they didn't know they where exposed.
  9. There is more than one of them on Railpage! Quicker to count the non Gunzels. Can't delete the wink
  10. There's not been a coaster yet I wouldn't ride, even the one in Kuala Lumpur inside the mall that they where hitting the brakes with a mallet to unjam them 20 minutes before it opened. I went to ride Buzzsaw (prior to 2016) and just couldn't, hit an invisible wall walking up to it. The vertical lift and slow roll over was just not my cup of tea. Didn't even consider the lap bar an issue. I can understand the GP's hesitation too.
  11. Is it poor maintenance, or poor return on investment? Ie sell it to a smaller park where it will be a big attraction, versus maintaining something that no one really wants to ride (especially once the new coaster is in).
  12. Maybe Buzzsaw can go to LPS or LPM.... 🎣
  13. Don't annoy train enthusiasts, they'll stand at a distance, awkwardly staring and mumbling something about numbers whilst wearing hi vis! 😂 Btw - I'm not one of those type of train enthusiasts. I've been fortunate enough to drive a steam loco for a day (my photo - complete with L plate), but I have no interest in counting train & carriage numbers and recording them in a diary, or building a model railway and running it like a real one. Each to their own, just not my thing.
  14. The correct term is "Bus Bar", as it transport power 'for all'. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Busbar Although you'd get a pretty big buzz should you touch it and complete a circuit (750V DC).
  15. I'd expect the whole park to be closed for a clean for a day. The key reason for details in the restaurant, is allowing the contact tracers to focus on the most at risk cases first. The lady who has returned to Japan is a good example of this. They only need to contact people there at a certain time. It brings the list of people down to maybe 20 people vs an entire theme park of potentially 5000 (is that the current limitation) people. Meanwhile, the airlines get to play hardball - they don't have to provide a flight manifest, as the people who purchased tickets haven't agreed to their data being shared with the health departments 🙄(and that is from a reliable source, one of the Qld Gov Coronavirus team). Hence why the government has to publicly call for passengers to come forward.
  16. It just keeps the rules simple. Probably stops the "Karen's" complaining when they don't see people's details being recorded too.
  17. Just chuck them in a couple of rented caravans right next to the ride site and put them straight to work.
  18. Airlines weren't handed cash, they where handed discounts on landing fees etc - which when you aren't flying planes doesn't mean much. Virgin Aus asked for $1.4 billion and got told to go away. Alan Joyce made fun of them as Qantas was ok, then a few months later started sticking his hand out too. Virgin Aus got $200 mil from the Qld Government to stay in Qld.
  19. Aren't worker entitlements protected under law, before any secured creditors (I think I read something during the Virgin Aus collapse that said that)?
  20. The thing is, that two week wait in quarantine isn't going away anytime soon. The challenge at the moment is getting flights through from anyway to Australia (reports seem to be it is taking about a week from Europe). There is a cap of 4000 people per week to Australia, so only around 80 flights a week. Airlines also are limited to 50 passengers per flight into Australia, so they are cancelling any tickets that aren't business class as they make the most money. The remaining space is taken up by freight which doesn't complain about the leg room in economy.
