Top Thrill Dragster at Cedar Point "Closing"
Naazon replied to Coasterjoe's topic in Theme Park Discussion
I don't think retrofitting it for modern launches would have been overly difficult, I just think the park recognised the money better spent elsewhere on rides with better returns/throughput/new rides to bring new and old rather than reviving an old ride. -
Nope, its worse than that. Its a digital egg.

Sorry, are you complaining they haven't abandoned a paid add-on?

I went to MW during the holidays and VQ was pretty much booked out after 11am

Ironically, I think this time there could be some truth to it. I can see where he is coming from -
Just curious, @Dean Barnett, do you think about what you post? like ever?

Found the Eureka Mine Train video, I can't believe it.

Sure, but a quick search of similar finds Geelong also has the same offerings so I'm sure other regional areas or larger metro areas offers it also. The links practically have identical text so I would say they are a standard offering service. https://www.grlc.vic.gov.au/learn/saving-family-stories And for privacy the two services linked are self serve. -

Brisbane City Council Library's have media conversion stations for free. https://www.brisbane.qld.gov.au/things-to-see-and-do/council-venues-and-precincts/libraries/facilities-services/media-conversion-stations Just BYO USB. -
From 2016 Wet'n'Wild website, they list SurfRider as 30m and 25m.. Wiki has it at 30m, with a 25m drop.
-
Also 70km/h really screams "Flash" when it's inside Superman that hits 100km/h and not too far from DC Rivals at 114km/h. Even Batwing is 64km/h.

You're a month early for your annual August check in

Since everyone's been hating on DD, they will probably replace it with a Skywarp from Skyline.
-
I think DD will be replaced after the new coasters are in
-
Be fun to see if this opens for School Holidays tomorrow or if it can hold on and really last the full 6 months!

Sandy Shores Lagoon Refurbishment at Sea World 2023

They are also, as pointed out, temporary. If the fence line needs to move frequently to allow safe passage / adjust guest flow / works move/change, a fence like what DW has wouldn't be appropriate. This is just a possible reason, not the reason. I have no hard feelings against the fences themselves, I hate the concrete feet that stick out and are a tripping hazard in crowds. Oh and the banging noise they make when people hit them or its windy. -
Kinda disappointed its a 'relaunch' and not a 'redrop'
-
But if I didn't know who was building it, how would I get them to build my ride?
-
Honestly, has it though? It made some noise in the media for a day or two and the people on what they clearly determined as unprofitable memberships have cancelled which in business is a win. Check back in a month or so and it will have blown over. Movieworld likely will have gains from this overall.

Lighter trains would improve the launch system and its cooling issues also. Edit: Apparent issues. I don't know and not pretending to know if the cooling is an issue or a feature. -

I watch enough Linus Tech Tips to know easy ways to cool things down. Just heat exchange with the filming pool over at the studios! Easy! -
Excuse my ignorance but aren't they a construction company? Their engineers are focused on structural engineering rather than... ride maintenance? If I'm way off the mark please let me know though.
