  1. My understanding was demolision began some time ago @red dragin In their document they posted on FB recently, they said that the transporting of stuff will happen after hours. There is a gap between the stoppage date and the website closing date, but I assume it just wasnt updated. “Oh shit, we need dem parts”. Didnt it just go under maintenance in november for 1.5 months?
  2. Is it not something to do with that stoppage some time ago?
  3. "Jack Darke's Buzzsaw" has been pushed back until the 30th April.
  4. Both Mach 5 and Ray Reef have been changed back to until further notice. Perhaps those ridiculously long reopening dates were an error.
  5. And I would have thought that this would have already been the case. Quite shocked that it isnt. 15 seconds is a long period of time. Does anyone know if the pump fail also caused the raft to become stuck, or was that also coincidental?
  6. Are they mental. Even a replacement slide shouldnt take that long. The look and feel of the Sidewinders feel fine to me, I last went in October. If anything needs fixing, its the River Rapids and Mammoth Falls. Those two slides are so bunpy and uncomfortable.
  7. Ask about the mine ride. Ask if the engineering team knew about any problems and why it had to be completely rebuilt shortly after installation.
  8. Thanks so much for uploading these! Please keep uploading!
  9. Website says TOT is back open. This is early (has dreamworld gone crazy?). A friend told me today that ardient really does understand the fate of their theme park - as Dreamworld for whatever reason was playing the song “Dreamworld” by Midnight Oil throughout the park today...
  10. That would be so cool! PLEASE DO IT! Anybody who has photos from 90s-2006 PLEASE POST
  11. I could view these photos all day. The thunderbolt station photos are just incredible to see. I wish there was more! (blue lagoon photos would have been so cool!) Thanks so much for uploading these are so awesome!
  12. This ride was probably Dreamworld's strangest investment so far. Rebuilding the ride would have cost them a fortune, alongside with the shitloads of refurbishments along the way. Then to have it only last 17 years before it shut is quite poor. The sad part is that it could have easily lasted another 10 years after 2006 if they had just gave it some TLC like they had done so many years before. Being too busy was a poor excuse. It's just a shame that only now after a tragic accident do Dreamworld's owners decide to stop neglecting the park. Viewing articles and talking about the mine ride is easily my favorite part of viewing the Parkz forums and it's really sad that this is how we have to end it. A demolished ride, with no plans to replace it. Though I have only experienced the ride once when I was a small child and barely remember what it was like, something about it just fascinates me. Imagine how incredible it would be to talk to someone who was involved with the ride sometime in the late 80s, as there are still quite a few unanswered questions that would be intriguing to hear the answers to.
  13. I personally love the fact that the path is narrow. Whilst it may be a bit squishy, you feel like you are entering a whole new world.
  14. Jetstreams removed from maintenance page however are still mentioned on the website. Match 5 has been changed on the maintenance page to “until further notice”. Lazy river is now closed for more than 4 months. Along with River Rapids for 5 months. Not a good year for WetNWild.
  15. Quite strange that The Claw, Giant Drop and Tailspin were not closed if this was due to weather.
  16. Rides shut at dreamworld today: - Motorcoaster - Tower of terror - Wipeout - Dreamworld Express - Log Ride - Shockwave - Play School Wheel Was this due to severe weather?
  17. Why is everyone so GRUMPY! There is a really good song called dont worry be happy, you folks need a dose of it, with the music video too
  18. According to the website, Rocky Hollow Log Ride has reopened.
  19. How come it didn't even make it to 2 flips at 1:58? And how long should it take for new parts to "Wear In"?
  20. Ferris wheel was a big waste of money. Small target market so very little return on advertisement. The target market won't be seeing Dreamworld's advertising for that ride. The target market is too young to understand that the ride is new. The target market will quickly forget about the ride experience. The target market is under parental authority.
  21. Even with your broad marketing experience Ben, I doubt you will be able to help them out on this one.
  22. The chance that Sidewinders OR Jetstreams are currently experiencing a structural issue is quite hard to believe in my opinion. Match 5 is less than 13 years old. Structural issues on hydroslides are normally either caused by a design flaw or corrosion. Believe me, if WnW or any company or person associated with the park knew that Jetstreams had a structural issue now, or even a very small structural issue, match 5 would not be operating NOW, as a problem with Jetstreams structure also poses a risk to Match 5, as it is on the same slide tower. Think of it this way, WWW closed all slides on the bro's tower for a day when they installed a shade sail. Though operating RIP and Triple Vortex could be operated during this time, it still poses a risk to these slides which is why they were closed. A slide, even one which is situated by the waterfront (not that one in Helensvale really is), should last a good 25 years if it is engineered properly, without experiencing structural issues such as corrosion. Like Wipeout, we are probably needing something major, such as new pumps. Or who knows, we could even be seeing a major refurbishment in some way, shape or form. Let's not forget, the sign which is located by match 5 entrance says "Jetstreams are currently undergoing refurbishment".
