  1. I have always wanted to know what AlexB looks like in person. Feel free to stalk me at anytime (hint hint: I will be at Dreamworld August 4th)
  2. Give it a few days and they will likely update the map to include Trolls and remove Kevil
  3. Seems funny that we have conflicting stories. Its as if those maintenance dudes and ride ops who currently work there had a meeting the day before discussing “so what are we going to say to make our stories match and dreamworld look good”
  4. Exactly the same here, I work in a basic fast food outlet and have to put up with insane amounts of safety procedures all the time. We even get regularly quizzed AND graded on our knowledge of safety procedures. Why hasn't this been the same at Dreamworld? Clearly from the developing stories we can make the conclusion that there has been negligence at Dreamworld and I do not believe that the park is in the right position to be safely operated even today. We've seen examples of this numerous times over the past months and year. I believe that the best course of action from here is to force some changes, so they can sort their shit out and restructure management to smaller levels of hierarchy, implement relevant safety procedures and training, fix up their maintenance team, andmost importantly fix up their rides using safety implementations which are actually useful and not a total waste of time, space and resources (shockwave, log ride)
  5. Tower of terror is the most useless piece of theme park equipment. What you saw today was certainly not unusual, TOT always breaks down EVERY SINGLE DAY. Never had a day without it breaking down to be honest. Excuses range from harness problems and LSM problems. They tend to keep a can of CRC handy in case of harness problems these days ! 😉 Sucks that they never have both giant drops in service anymore, it's either one or the other closed for months these days. It's especially annoying then the Drop and TOT went under maintenance for a month in March already. Dreamworld is terrible at managing maintenance. We've seen this for over a year now. And their operations lately have been as slow as hell, 1 woman operating the shockwave who takes 15 minutes to load, and 5-6 minutes to unload. And Buzzsaw is just retarded. Like green lantern, I believe there is something suspect about it's design. Like the Log Ride, Wipeout, Wild West Falls and Mach 5 it will probably be a very long time before we can have a spin on the Buzzsaw again.
  6. Jetstreams had planned maintenance for one month, October till November. This was then extended till December and then became "Until Further Notice". I was at the park in October. I found it strange that there was a sign up saying "This ride is undergoing refurbishment" for the Jetstreams, and not just that it was undergoing maintenance. The website was updated on the day at which Sidewinders closed (or potentially a few days before, can't quite remember), so there was next to zero warning. So jetstreams have been closed for nearly 9 months and sidewinders 6 months. When the website is updated to the new style we will be able to get a fair idea whether Mach 5 will ever operate again, at the moment they haven't been updating the Wet'n'Wild website very often while this is still in development. It doesn't take this long to fix a hydroslide or it's pumps unless of course it's structural. At this point, due to the insanely long downtime, I am led to believe it could well be.
  7. Parts of it are currently undergoing removal. Its not possible to tell whether this is permanent or temp. It has been down for 6 months now, I dont see it reopening for a very long time in the state it is currently in. Homestly it would suck going to wet n wild right now. Tornado, Junior Slides, Jetstreams, Sidewinders, Flowrider, Skycoaster, Surfrider and Calypso Beach are all closed.
  8. Wonderful news. The green lantern will be lit up again on 23 July.
  9. Maybe Skeet was right about its dodgyness and they've shut it down from all that dodgy looking rust!
  10. Awesome that they are addressing that, They have also updated the website with that message. I was under the impression that this maintenance has something to do with the e-stop which happened in March. It is likely they are working to try and resolve issues with sensors and the computer system (or even some other mechanical issues which might have been what the e-stop was indicating). Like the Wipeout, replacement parts are coming from overseas which will probably take many months (We might have to wait until August or September for Buzzsaw to reopen). TRR has been undergoing demolition since January. On the topic of maintenance, RAY REEF is reopening WEDNESDAY
  11. It's very surprising that they would post maintenance for 2019 (it is only June!), as it probably won't even end up going ahead on those dates anyway.
  12. Dreamworld has updated their maintenance page. Most rides now have maintenance dates, including some for 2019 (wtf?) Interesting points: - Even more maintenance for TOT. 23 July until 21 August. - Log ride is undergoing maintenance TOMORROW for nearly a month! - Wipeout is undergoing maintenance in 2019 (wtf!) Had plans to visit DW in the start of August. I am honestly so pissed off, TOT will be down AGAIN and it was down last time I was there as well. Plus HWSW!
  13. Completely agree. I think we can all agree that Dreamworld should have announced the ride when they actually have everything or most things in place, including a name.
  14. It's very clear that they are doing this whole thing wrong. There should be a decent amount of construction going on before they even announce the thing. This creates initial speculation and hype. Then when they do, they really should have had some decent marketing behind it. The essentials are a theme-based ride name, and lots of advertising based on that theme. In my opinion, the ride shouldn't have even been announced yet. We all know why they did it, but they did it wrong. Take the Claw for example. This one they did an awesome job of. The slogan "Tearing into dreamworld" which was pushed out to the TV and the media well before the name "The Claw" was even announced created immense hype. They weren't advertising it as a "Yet-to-be-named Intamin Gyro-Swing" Clearly this is some sort of commission based ride with most of the (only) marketing being done by Brogent, because Dreamworld definitely couldn't afford to buy their own ride, right? This attraction will likely be pretty average. It will probably lack theming significantly, and will have a lot of Brogent marketing. Their marketing department needs a serious look at. It seems most of the stuff that's coming from them is pretty bad. While they are at it, take a look at management too.
  15. Got that one wrong. Sorry about that. Won't happen again.
  16. BLD201804 I would be pretty sure that it's for Sea World as there is no street number posted on this application for Sea World Drive.
  17. Alterations to an existing building and demolitions are available to view. These are the applications I pointed out.
  18. Council Applications show that: - There are currently no applications submitted to the GCCC at this stage which could indicate a demolition of Vikings Revenge (or at least the main castle, not sure if the rest of the ride requires an application for demolition) - The internal demolition works for the SEA JELLIES building application was only added to the GCCC website during SEP 17, obviously there were definitely some delays there, because council applications are usually posted online around 2 months after they are submitted - Potentially a new coffee shop is coming to Sea World.
  19. I remember back in my day the claw could remain open while its being repainted
  20. But it's only a scare maze which gets utilized a few times a year It was WAY better when it was laser tag.
  21. And that sucks. Sea World for all this time has performed fine as a theme park, it certainly motivated our whole family to visit when they offered many rides and ALSO shows+attractions at the same time. Now that us kids are grown up we tend to split up, mum and dad go to SW, us fellas go to MW or DW. Village's theme parks target to completely separate markets, which makes it harder for families to choose where they want to go. Many teenagers don't give a crap about animals, so they are stuck riding Jet Rescue and Storm for the day. Many people who do like animals spend less than 5 minutes looking through each enclosure. Sea World certainly needs at least 1 more major ride whether thrill or family. Whether it's a flatty or coaster. And they need to improve their shows significantly. Make these changes and Sea World and Sea World won't be a struggling theme park. Simple!
