With you on that one @Skeeta we battled the schoolies and private school crowds (already finished school for the year) for visits this week knowing outside of a visit for White Christmas we probably won’t hit the VTP parks again until mid-late January. DW will depend on how busy it actually gets, last holidays it was still quiet

It’s pretty apparent that no, that isn’t part of their pricing strategy going forward anymore. And because of the increased visitation from locals - you have more opportunity to WOW them, get more social media check ins/photos (ie Free publicity!) and then better referral business when friends & family visit the coast! Locals are your bread & butter - tourists are you extras on top

So does my wallet.... updated: and just confirmed to be the case!

Interested to see how this impacts current Membership pass holders. Will there be a nominal increase per month? Or will they be ceased and members forced to go onto these new passes?

Haha... I knew someone would pull me up on this. Was also pretty sure it would be you! I used the example as it’s a colloquial saying for a useless feature -

It was down for quite a while, but I’d say the last 6 or so visits over the last few months (prior to yesterday) it was working really well -

The thing is it wouldn’t really even matter if they did, unless there was a failure of the primary safety system at the same time being the overhead restraints. I don’t know whether you are trying to be argumentative or a plank... there is a reason rollercoasters the world over don’t have “push incase of an emergency buttons” available to the public that release all safety systems, and it’s kinda the same reason helicopters don’t have ejector seats... -

It’s easier to prevent electrical fires than prevent kids and/or idiots from pressing the ‘harness release button’ for shits and giggles -

If it had gaps to climb out of or an internal emergency release button - it would negate the only plausible reason they are enclosing it - the account got any possible amount of stupidity (except for their own in this decision of course) -
They’ve literally built a replacement volcano for the BT one they ripped down... wonder if they’ll connect the gas line this time?

They spend god know how much on what appears to just be a theming element? Insanity!

You used your and you’re in the wrong places.. but anyways.. comments like this totally shit me. if someone criticises a parks decision, responding with “go run your own park” is a total assclown response. We are allowed to be critical. Encasing a flume is a ridiculous idea. If a log becomes stuck in a dangerous spot, or in a worst case scenario is inundated or flipped, there is no escape route. -

You can see the final screen from the unload platform. They know. They just aren’t fussed as the park up the road doesn’t even have rides running and there is 5,000 schoolies here lining up for DCR. -

JL is a complete disaster experience today... 90% of the ride had zero audio guns scoring but for the most part not turning the lights off when you hit the spores 3d animations very stuttery Projection on the smoke screen so faint it couldn’t be made out Final door before final screen stuck open Final screen not functional at all -

Seems ridiculous to even mention it at all, given the info was vague and it’s not happening for the holiday period. Next thing RHLR will get delayed. Total cycle of disappointment. The least they can do is at least bring back something like the fire show from last summer as some sort of excitement for bring people in -

So 2 week ago when Craig fronted the media and announced this new Trolls attraction (yes I know he didn’t name the license) would be open for the school holidays - he did so without having a pre-approval for the design concept from Dreamworks? Im hoping your info is rubbish - or else you can’t just add that to another stupid decision by DW. As for the floating cage going down the river - I’m calling complete rubbish on that one. Had a similar so-called redundancy existed on TRR we would have had 6 casualties. Sounds entirely ridiculous -

Not part of TRR. Theyve been in the area outside the mine ride for years, they were under the awning just behind where they are now -

Nope - closed again -
No idea why DW doesn’t utilise it’s benefit of not be encumbered by strict evening noise restrictions... I’m going along to a private hire event tomorrow night at DW - nearly all rides open at the park until 11:30pm! why not utilise the late opening in the summer school holidays to drive some business in?? Every Friday/Saturday for instance

AMF felt by increasing the amount of video game machines in their centres it would provide the added entertainment required to differentiate from the traditional bowling alleys of old, and appeal to the young generation. That and the investment in m9 laser, but again, outside of school holidays and parties, it has no real regular patronage
-
The problem is bowling just isn’t as appealing as it used to be due to the influx alternate offerings. Outside of kids birthday parties and school holidays, the centres are dead. League bowling has been on the wane for many years, largely as AMF lane conditions and machining wasn’t well accepted by TBA and league groups - as AMF maintained lanes largely for leisure purposes, pushing away leaguers. Ardent didn’t seem to know who it wanted to focus on, and it left centres stuck in the abyss of not being able to cater for consistent income (leagues) in favour of leisure bookings which were sporadic.
