  1. Well given the likely inaccuracy of the new coaster information you received I'll take that with a grain of salt. However an early opening for DD is much more likely than an 8min ride time
  2. If they could be displays of built Lego blocks/characters, with the x's referring to powered displayed or displays that have a PowerPoint
  3. So this is obviously the entry currently boarded up under the covered area. Wonder what the boxes and 'x''s mean? Maybe something to do with an entry/exit system to stop Lego store visitors entering the park
  4. No doubt It's possible Alex, but at this stage we don't even know if the monorail will fit under the new roof.. I'd think shuttles would be a more likely alternative
  5. Surprise claws in Durie’s latest landscaping contract at Gold Coast’s Dreamworld Emily Selleck, Gold Coast Bulletin 35 minutes ago JAMIE Durie’s landscaping gigs don’t usually leave him with tiger scratch marks but it’s not every day you get to design Tiger Island at Dreamworld. “When I got the call I hung up the phone and yelled, ‘We’re building a tiger garden’ to my whole design office,” Mr Durie said. “This project is really close to my heart because it involves conservation, preservation and sustainability.” Mr Durie said he went to “extreme lengths” to make sure the turf was perfect for the tigers. “This is the extent we would go to for elite athletes,” he said. Tiger Island landscape designer Jamie Durie, right, has gone to extreme lengths to make sure the turf was perfect for the tigers. “The secret to a good lawn is good drainage and access to oxygen and nutrients. “When we brought it (the turf) in we made sure it was semi-washed so we weren’t bringing any pathogens (and) when the tigers run, coursing into the turf, it will re-establish itself in record time.” The project, set to open on September 16, has been in the works for more than a year. “Theme parks of ‘yesteryear’ would think more about attendees than the habitat,” he said. “But we’re not creating a show, we’re creating a wildlife for these animals.”
  6. Couple of points... * I don't think Movieworld is trying to 'claim' Top Golf at all, other than it being an associated entity under the same umbrella of VR/VTP. It's no more under claim to MW as OS is, which again is minimal. * How could SW claim that the casino was part of its park? Completely different owners and land usage, I find that a mind boggling suggestion. * every aspect of this proposal is in draft format. There are likely years of planning and changes before anything happens, so don't take the media articles, figures of sizes/expansions etc with an real validity at this point in time. * as a parent of a young child, I would have no qualms with my son seeing advertising for a casino in the carpark of a theme park, or having to walk past an entryway to the casino etc, it just give further opportunity to re-inforce with your kids the dangers of gambling. Sport and gambling are intertwined because you bet on sports. Unless SW is going to take wagers on which jet ski will do the best tricks prior to the show, that line doesn't even exist to be blurred. * I don't see a monorail station for the casino being added to the existing network, unless a seperate track/link was created running purely between the SW entry and the casino accommodation. The current set up works with sea world resort as guests get access to the theme park. Guests staying at the casino hotel/resort won't get given free access * there is no land available to be reclaimed to incorporate a light rail track running along the Spit
  7. And they'll slug you $6 to go through it... Last thing SE Qld needs is more tunnels. Campbell 'Tunnels' Newman is no longer around.
  8. Unfortunately on a mobile device sometimes the orientation screws, dunno why. Apologies. Turn your head sideways and you'll get the same perspective!
  9. Yep.. Fireballs and turtle shells and I'm in, otherwise it sounds lame. Happy to eat humble pie if it turns out to be quality
  10. Yeah I am... Go carts.. Small petrol powered vehicles, not traditionally used for stunting, don't jump particularly well, in no way fit in with the only recently remodelled set, due to being small in size, will be easily lost amongst a large arena, oh, and finally, both recent versions of HWSD have been disappointing in my opinion so I am also adding bad form...
  11. Likely to change once the redevelopment is completed
  12. Thanks Ninja, that's a much better view. I can see everything clearer now.. reminds me of the restricted view area at a English championship game for £45 each...
  13. The Casino consortium still has many many hoops to jump through...
  14. I'd be more than happy with a Flash clone, albeit with a few differences to differentiate. If the do look at a launching coaster, all they need is a few inversions to completely differentiate the ride from SE. Inversions and a double Launch would be terrific
  15. 2 weeks is a long time in construction with a decent sized workforce the photos also give little indication to exactly how far from completion the entire project is.
  16. What facts or data have you used to draw that conclusion? Not saying you are wrong, just interested in your source.
  17. True that.. I love going to the cinema, but since Kids came along I don't go as often. The change has gone from fortinightly movies to 2-3 must sees each year. thats been countered by more theme park visits, albeit with the majority of time spent in ABC4Kids World & WB Kids
  18. Can't they afford roofs on their manufacturing facilities?
