Most Iconic Australian Theme Park Attraction
Brad2912 replied to HyprCoastr19's topic in Theme Park Discussion
For mine: - Bush Beast - Corkscrew - DW Tower - Tiger Island - Luna Park entry -
I also think any thought of an early 2021 vaccine is fanciful. Mid-late 2021 is possible, but it’s far from guaranteed. Was only a few decades ago the medical field were confident they’d have a viable vaccine for HIV within 12 months, 30+ Years later and it still isn’t here. I also don’t think uptake if a vaccine is found is going to be anywhere near what the government predicts/wants. People are a lot more vary of injecting things into themselves if their kids that are “fast-tracked” without time for any mid-long term effects to be known. Any No Jab-No Travel policies that will no doubt be rolled out by the government will also harper recovery as it will limit who can come to the coast, and pressure may even come onto operators themselves to adopt no vax-no entry.

Happy to see this as a point of difference for regular visitors. I am assuming this is just a direct port of an offering at different site, but that’s no issue and keeps the costing down no doubt. Keeping the original for certain times each day is also a good move I believe so first time visitors get that experience

One is manufacturing. One is an entertainment service provider. worlds of difference. We lost the car manufacturing industry because our wage structures preclude the ability to provide a competitive priced alternative to the Asian imports.

What does a “Behind The Scenes” version of that show looks like? There isn’t any crazy effects, intricate sets to elaborate on etc. What exactly as they showing you that is “behind the scenes?” who asked for a behind the scenes version of what was already rubbish?

Which former attraction do you miss the most?
Brad2912 replied to HyprCoastr19's topic in Theme Park Discussion
ToT hasnt been gone long enough to be missed really. ditto Wipeout, not that I will ever long for that to return and it’ll be like for like (basically) replaced by Vortex. I do wish I could ride Bush Beast again, but I’ll be getting a better replacement in the next 12 months in Leviathan. LTRR & BT in their glory would be welcomed attractions in any park in the country. I’ll always hold the nostalgia and fun of those in my heart, and I only wish my son had got to enjoy them. tbh and I’ll probably get boo’ed for this, but my most missed rides are some of the flats that were at Wonderland that I grew up on and loved. I’m sure nostalgic value in my mind escalates these beyond what they were, but rides like the Tassie Devil and HMS Endeavour were fun, exciting, family friendly but still thrilling and don’t have similar counterparts anywhere. -
Disney fans petition for Disneyland in Australia

Having a population of 1 billion people vs 25 million certainly helps... as does being surrounded by other populous nations that don’t require long haul flights to reach you -
Disney fans petition for Disneyland in Australia
Brad2912 replied to gavinfulikes's topic in Theme Park Discussion
There is zero financial sense for Disney in opening a park here. We won’t have the population, nor the international tourist numbers, to make it viable let alone profitable.- 42 replies

The New Atlantis - Construction Updates

Too bad La Niña is on the way. Wet late spring/summer coming, floods and cyclones. -
Most I ever saw active was 5. I thankfully haven’t had to ride it for about 2 years as my son grew out of it, so can’t comment on recent operations, but as recently as my last rides 2 years ago it was falling into disrepair with multiple features out of sync or just not working, and also constant breakdowns where you’d just stop, and be in the same room for minutes on end, even had to be released and walk off once or twice
-
Unfortunately the train ride doesn’t appear to be returning, it’s a shame as it showed the most promise of anything at the event, and I’d happed it could be expanded upon in future iterations.

I didn’t say that. At all. She is a child, she at this point doesn’t know what is best for her. That’s an adult/professionals decision to make. Once again I have never labelled anyone a baby. Nor have a said she just wants money. I doubt she has cognisance of the money situation. I find it offensive that you are putting words into my mouth that I didn’t type.
-
I didn’t say that. i’m saying if she has been living in trauma without treatment for 4 years that is extremely concerning in terms of her Mental health & wellbeing. @Gold Coast Amusement Force glad you understand the point I am trying to make.
-
You’re Welcome to disagree with me. As I stated, she deserves all the money in the world. Millions imo, but getting it will not help her move on from the situation. She needs professional support, the best available, and that should also be funded by Ardent, but that is all that will help her with the ability to cope and move on.
-
So a child, who refuses to speak to professionals or any family about the incident, will only be able to move on with her life once she receives monetary compensation? what a load of rubbish. i am not for one second arguing that this girl doesn’t deserve compensation for losing her mother, she absolutely does, but she is a child and no money is going to bring back her mum or help her process what happened. her family should be less focused on campaigning for her to get cash, and focus on her mental well being - if it’s true she has been internalising the events of the day for 4 years, and not spoken to anyone, that can be completely destructive for her long term quality or life.

BRC was still popular. As recently as the last operational holidays, it had 40min + queues basically from open to close. It was easily the most popular ride in ABC kids World, and the most immersive and experience driven. The issue isn’t that they are closing it, the issue is they are bullshitting everyone with some lame excuse regarding popularity, when the truth is they’ve let the thing rot without any basic upkeep for 4-5 years and it likely deteriorated to point where keeping it operating was a burden on them time & cost wise. They are closing the best and most popular ride in the precinct without any plans for a replacement (The presentation was void of any mention of the previous mooted expansion of ABC Kids World).

Interesting that BS may go. It’s not the best ride but it’s relatively new compared to the others. Unless the maintenance/parts are becoming prohibitive or the land is earmarked for something else, it seems strange. Fantastic news on a new video for SV

Theme Parks Reopening Post COVID-19
Brad2912 replied to themagician's topic in Theme Park Discussion
If I am going on the train from Central Station to Parramatta, and I board the train at Central, I didn’t travel through Central station. I am not even complaining about the theming of the ride, it’s sufficient and better than most kids rides. my issue was the caption provided by MW makes it sound as if you travel through a separate area themed to a fireworks factory, or at least a noticeable portion of the ride is in a fireworks factory. Hence why I said it was an embellishment of the truth. -

That’s very embellished. Which is what i said regarding the post MW made. -

No, I’m not forgetting it. It’s not themed to a fireworks factory though. It’s a largely open shed.
