  1. What does green, purple and the justice league emblem have to do with the Doomsday tower?? Nothing. It's a maintenance/storage area
  2. If you have a vip pass, you get free access. Ticket to ride has been around since before the xmas holidays
  3. You mean the extended trading hours that have now concluded? Last day was yesterday
  4. It took 3 months to refresh Wipeout. How do you envisage they do an entire rollercoaster in a month?
  5. Was under the impression the ride could be overridden to manual mode, meaning unless the was a perfect balance, it would right itself (and riders rocking in the car would certainly right it) Of course maybe that manual setting takes a tech to apply, and that could have taken time. How long was it stuck?
  6. Disney Doll, you make fair points on everything you have said above, though I have never experienced anything like that or seen it. On the first point though on sarcastically saying "are you that old" about the restraints comment. That's called humour & guest interaction.
  7. And splashing in my sons kiddie pool & lying in his sandpit is a very real alternative to a week in the Maldives.
  8. Maintenance - happens every year. And yes has been discussed elsewhere
  9. No overly long maintenance periods there may reflect no major ride overhaul this year like Wipeout received
  10. It's closed 3 months so hopefully May get a full re-fresh So you think if they keep it closed for an additional month it will what, become a better ride? I'm sure if it needed more than a month it would have it. Also, what's wrong with it?
  11. Would you invest in a house that had been abandoned and left to rot for the best part of a decade?? Even re-building an exact replica would require partial deconstruction of the mountain which raises the same health concerns. I honestly believe the asbestos issue is all that's stopped them from knocking it down (and the cost/loss of income associated) As for the skyway pillars, they're not in the way of anything, so are they worth the expense to move? I'd say they'll stay til they imede future development. The vast majority of visitors either wouldn't notice them, or wouldn't give them a second thought once they did see them
  12. The mine ride is beyond repair now, it would need full replacement which would mean tearing down the mountain, which is turn would mean shutting down a decent area of the park due to the asbestos. I think we'll see a large attraction announced Mid year for a late 2015/early 2016 opening, but doubt lagoon is the only area Id see being considered as part of a new rides footprint
  13. What media outlets? The only real experience the general public will have had with a woodie would have been at Wonderland, and the Bush Beast was one hell of a ride that I'd ride over and over again in a heartbeat
  14. Superman - nothing about it is boring Storm - definitelty not a kids coaster Cyclone - is old but that doesn't make it in enjoyable. Parks have limited budgets, and 'cool' coasters are very expensive. I don't think they are dropping the ball at all, just doing the best they can with the limited budgets they have, which just happens to be rides you don't think are 'cool'
  15. Fair to say the extended trading hours are going down well (today the first day it's remained open as it wasn't pouring down). Drove past the park at about 6:30 and Carpark was more full than it was at midday
  16. So how exactly were you 'stuck' if the harness failure wouldnt allow the train to depart the station?
  17. Nope. Since day 1 of opening you are repeatedly told no loose articles by the entry attendant, signage and the video loop. Only items that can be removed and left behind with an attendant at the doors are prescription glasses. Been that way for 10 years
  18. Now you are calling me ignorant and abusing me? You start off by blaming Australians and referring to them killing off species, and then say it's only supporters of non-Australian sea-worlds you are targeting. What is your thoughts on tiger island? The ignorant person is you. Agenda driven, swayed by media and smear campaigns and propaganda. As for giving back to society or paying it forward, you know Jack all about what I have or haven't done in my life, which i'd comfortably say is a hell of a lot more than what you and the majority of the higher than mighty conservation crew do
  19. I don't think as a first time poster on these forums you have a right to criticise or take a shot at anyone, whether pro animal captivity or not. Are you saying anyone who supports SeaWorld and enjoys the shows are selfish and self-centred?
  20. Hi, welcome to the page. We're a group of theme park enthusiasts here, and from your one and only post thus far, it seems the only reason you've joined is to blow the 'save the animals' trumpet. If you love theme parks and want to contribute to discussions that's awesome, but if you are just going to post agenda driven dribble I'm sure there is a better outlet for you somewhere else. If you are also going to take a shot at 'aussies' whether on the basis of history or otherwise, I'd again recommend you find elsewhere to do so
  21. 6:30 isn't 8, and from memory it was 6pm not 6:30 and it wasn't everyday or advertised, it was a daily decision at the discretion of management based on attendance.
  22. Dreamworld opening hours extended, with the park closing at 8pm from Dec 27 - Jan 18th, with Illuminate laser show each night. Think this is a great iniative for the park and something I'd love to see MW replicate. Also Screamworld confirmed for every Friday night in Jan from 6:30-10pm with WWW open as well for $20pp (park closes normal time 5pm on these days)
