Absolutely the lucrative C&E market is primarily the focus of this hotel

First time on the new slides today. Double Barrel I’ll never waste time in again. Don’t even get a splash of water on you and no excitement. rippers is basically fully 4. Kaboom still not open. They are painting and polishing it, strange after only one year of operations

Dreamworld's new IP applications 2022

Not aware of that occurring. -
I don’t believe those plans are particular to scale or even accurate (given GL is missing and Batwing appears to now be on top of the fountain…)

Wizard of Oz - Movie World Arkham Asylum Replacement
Brad2912 replied to Park Addict 93's topic in Theme Park Discussion
I think having 12-18 month exhibits in showcase is fantastic. Pulls crowds out of the park, it’s an air-con break in summer, and summers something for non-riders -

Sounds like an awful lot of assumption mixed with a healthy dose of guess work -
The limit of people allowed in during really busy days
Brad2912 replied to STRAWS's topic in Theme Park Discussion
Whilst there would be a presumed limit based on safety to evac etc as per their planning approvals, there wouldn’t come a point in standard operations where they close entry. The park bled money through forced closures and no tourists during covid, so whilst an inconvenience you can’t spam them to taking the $$ while they are there. As long as they are ensuring maintenance (planned) is done offpeak and all rides are running 2 trains where possible, then that’s just how it is. -
Organisation - entry was smooth and efficient crowd management - everything spread over the entire park which stopped bottle necks entertainment - was fun, constant, livelg atmosphere - lots of thematic choices that added to the park free trick or treating (albeit a little more basic than other years) was still great for the kids food options/service - everything food wise was open, plus some additional outlets which meant lines were short and service was good. Much better then a regular weekend daytime visit Having DW wildlife open was great, as mentioned, as it spaced out the crowds vintage cars running a spooky theme was fun and different Not sure how to answer that as value is subjective. For a family, no doubt. On what you can get done without the need for fast passes etc, sure. It’s obviously targeted at the family market though.

Yeah I believe this was the likely culprit. Wasn’t electrical. I know that smell pretty well. Not impossible (if if was out of control) but given there is no ventilation through there if that was the case it was a horrible idea.

Attended tonight with my son and it was great night. the crowds were manageable despite being busy. I’m sure the rain today kept some away but aside from a sprinkle right on entry at 5:30 and again at about 8:40, there wasn’t a drop of rain. there was a funky toxic smell in the Manor walkthrough that burnt your throat and made you cough your lungs up - so we ran through that. Everyone around us was coughing too, it was actually quite worrying. I told the attendant on the exit but he seemed pretty unfazed. only other complaint was that despite having a photo pass - as it was an event night - you had to pay $5 per photo to have it put on your pass. Never been that way before, and pretty cheeky imo….

The New Atlantis - Construction Updates

When was the last time they did one of those? -
My partner went last night with some friends, they didn’t have fast track and said it was ridiculously busy and almost undoable without fast track. granted they got there at 6:45 so missed the jump and it always puts you behind when you do, but they had an hour wait for conjuring and then IT which was the other they were really keen on apparently looked even longer so they skipped it. The waited in line for scooby for 30mins only for it to go down with tech issues (I never understand riding scooby at night) and all ride queues were closed by 9:20 in prep for 10pm closes. I’m heading there last weekend of the month so hoping for better overall experience

Disney Expanding Footprint Name In Australia
Brad2912 replied to Chalky's topic in Theme Park Discussion
Yeah $957 AUD per person for a 5 day Park hooper with Genie + Is pretty ridiculous haha I mean i'd pay it if i was forking out for a trip to the US.... but that initial outlay would hurt for a family.... -

Not specifically as Dreamworld simply pays for the rights, they don’t own them. Any contract for sale of DW and its impact on Dreamworks licensing would come down to whether a transfer of rights is applicable under the contract between DW & DW. Without know that however, I’d imagine Merlin or any other buyer would have to enter into a new or renegotiated agreement with dreamworks -
Melbourne Show Rebel Coaster Incident

That’s overstepping the mark by a fair way mate. End of the day it’s someone’s daughter, sister, possibly mother, who very well may die - I don’t think we need that sort of commentary. -

That system destroyed sizzler… it’s not a health issue, it’s simply a cost v revenue issue as to its viability in non-peak times -
Don’t worry about the weight restriction itself. They don’t weigh you, and it’s only a relatively new thing.

Shock as Dreamworld loses man behind Tiger Island attraction
Brad2912 replied to PoolGuy's topic in Theme Park Discussion
Please tell me you’re not talking about the rent-a-farm that they have for Spring Fair that’s already been at my sons school 4 times this year alone… that doesn’t indicate an interest in animals and is as effort-laden as booking a food truck Those Asian bus tours have not returned, as that Asian tourism sector hasn’t recovered or rebounded from covid. It’s still a while off doing so too. the majority of tourists visiting DW are interstate, who have better presented animal sanctuaries/parks where they are coming from than what DW offers (aside from TI) -

That would be incredibly disappointing, beyond words imo. I don’t even think the offset of a world class, record breaker ride in its footprint would be accepted or quell the general fury that would be felt by long term park goers and the GP. -

Well he couldn’t have been made redundant unless his position was no longer going to be in place. You can’t be made redundant and they just bump up the guy below you into your role. I'm not sure what his official position was, but can only assume it wasn’t “senior supervisor” given that’s what his replacements position is labelled as. sad that he is gone however, he is an institution there. -
DC Rivals HyperCoaster train stuck mid-course
Brad2912 replied to PoolGuy's topic in Theme Park Discussion
But it’s already been discussed that the ride was operated within the accepted wind speed limits. The problem seems to have been contributed to by the lack of weight in the train due to it being empty, cold wheels due to it being the first test dispatch of the day, and then a perfectly/imperfectly timed and directed wind gust. if you were closing rides for the conditions that were prevalent on that day, we’d be lucky to see the ride open more than 60% of the year, as they were not “bad”
