  1. Oh god, why? Leave the sign/ archway alone, that just looks shit.
  2. If @Jdude95has been banned, maybe he can borrow your spare ticket @Park Addict 93.
  3. No, that is just the backwards upcharge experience.
  4. I agree with what you are saying, but the point is that if this was a fair and balanced report (which it wasn’t), Green Lantern should have been mentioned. Nobody cares if Dreamworld, some random company called S&S or Boeing built Green Lantern, the incident happened on their watch on their property, and it was probably the most significant incident prior to Thunder river Rapids in a long time. if a Qantas Plane has a near miss, regardless if it was a fault with the aircraft or pilot error, Qantas is the name people remember and care about, it’s only the enthusiasts that know it was an Airbus A380-211 that had a fault with its temp gauge which caused the issue.
  5. That is where the bias is a problem with this program. Yes no physical injuries occurred, but can you imagine the mental scar on the people involved in that incident? It is just as important as physical. Im not having a go at you Naazon, but I am just trying to highlight how flawed this program was. Add another one to the list, there wasn’t any mention of the helicopter crash at Sea World which killed. I can almost guarantee that village paid ransom money so to speak to be portrayed in a positive light. The cameras had access to Michael Croaker, they could have grilled him, However they chose to instead let him promote the parks he works for.
  6. No, neither did the white water world slide incident, but they gave it top billing alongside some of our worst incidents. To be a fair and balanced report, they should have mentioned other incidents in Australia, but they didn’t. This report had one objective, to stick it to the Australian park industry, and boy did it do that.
  7. This reminds me of the simpsons episode titled “Homer Badman”… if you don’t know the episode, here’s a photo to remind you..
  8. To me it seemed to be a hit piece towards Dreamworld. I’d hardly call this “viewing for the whole family”. They didn’t even mention the Green Lantern incident! Guessing village paid them off and ardent didn’t?
  9. Geez I knew I would get flamed for my opinion. Calm down everyone. Those Gargoyles were part of the rides original queue. I’m curious if the ones that can be seen have a strip of zip ties on their back
  10. I think my point is being missed. Rivals as good of a ride as it is, is not a world class ride like depicted. Not only that, it’s presentation is very much off note for what we should be expecting from the park. At the end of the day, it’s a good coaster for the market, but it’s an average hyper coaster by world standards, and unlike the other rides of the park, it doesn’t have any decent theming to back it up. Where is the rides magic? There isn’t any. I say the same about Green Lantern. It feels very much like a six flags ride, a plonk there, put in a garden, call it a name to suggest it has a theme and story, but in reality it has an incredibly weak story that it’s not even worth mentioning. Im happy with Superman replacing the SFX show, to me it has the magic, even if the courtyard is average. However it came at the expense of an attraction that “everyone could ride”, and I feel. An updated SFX show should have been put on in a new location. Movie World used to be a park where you didn’t have to ride the rides to have an enjoyable day out, now it’s a place where you have to ride the rides, there’s very little “showmanship” inside the park. The rides shouldn’t have come at the expense of the showmanship. That is why I rate current day movie world to be piss weak.
  11. It would be great if something like this did eventuate, but I’m not holding my breath. Timezone dominate the indoor ent market after throwing some major capital at it. There is no comparing other arcade operators with Timezone. The story of Timezones rise is amazing as the brand was virtually dead, with the venues at Cooly and Surfers virtually the only major locations on the east coast worth mentioning. They were both privately owned locations. Then came the private equity groups, and TEEG was formed, which have since thrown a shit tonne of money at the brand, and it appears to be going gangbusters for them. There is certainly a market for these types of entertainment locations, but I feel so far, what Timezone have done is set a benchmark to be beaten, and for competitions sake, I hope Sega can. Time will tell.
  12. You are correct, Rivals layout is unique, however it is just a roller coaster. There are better hyper coasters out there. If it was a themed experience, sure, it would be unique, different story then. GL on the other hand there are a few El Loco models out there, and there isn’t really anything that makes it special.
  13. I respectfully disagree. Ill Probably get flamed for this, but. Movie World I feel hit it’s peak just after Batwing was installed. Everything else has been average at best. Rivals, GL, yes, great killer coasters, but they aren’t anything overly unique in the way super man, and Scooby were. Doomsday is a complete waste of space. The park has lost so much of its original magic, like Dreamworld has. Reality is, it’s turning more and more into a six flags park with every addition, and it’s quite sad.
  14. The thing is that the parks management don’t think the replacement attractions suck, or aren’t as good as the previous attraction. So to them, it’s a winner..
  15. I’ll miss the Dreamworks area. Here’s hoping that whatever comes next is a massive improvement on what was there. I have spoken to some friends of mine who are heavily involved in the industry, they suggested that a lego themed area is on the cards for this spot.. watch this space I reckon, it could get quite interesting.
  16. What was the actual reason for Tower of Terror closing? I noticed the other day Intamin are still advertising the reverse freefall coaster as being a product they sell and support on their website. They even have a new style of the ride, check out Turbo Track at Ferrari World. Is there any reason other than Dreamworld being Dreamworld that they couldn’t have bought Intamin in to retrofit the ride for the next generation?
  17. If that’s the case, I’d be getting your system checked by an independent solar installer. That’s not typical behaviour. back to doomsday..
  18. Is it possible your area or distribution did not get affected by the outage @DaptoFunlandGuy? I’ve spoken to some solar experts that did my system last year in Gympie, and the only explanation they gave was that your house + neighbours was on a different distro, and hence not affected by the blackout. “The only way that system should have continued to generate is if the meter and inverter/s had sufficient power off the grid, or if it had a battery connected. Then again, a battery would not have powered anyone except the premises it’s connected to. The export certainly should not have powered it’s neighbour’s in a blackout. If it did, then there is something seriously wrong with that system.” Apologies for the off topic discussion.
  19. Off topic, but can you point me in the right direction regarding your house and Westfield powering the suburb? My understanding of the electricity grid and solar exports is that if the property is in a blackout, unless you have a battery system, the property, and the PV system goes dark, and certainly does not export back to the grid. If the blackout is due to say a cable coming down, having PV systems which are active exporting back into that failed grid/ cable is incredibly dangerous.
  20. Welp, well this is it for Dreamworks then. I wonder where shrek will you turn up next? He’s been to Wonderland, Movie World and Dreamworld.
  21. I don’t believe so, which is my point. This was recently as well, when Disney owned Marvel.
  22. They also sell or have sold Marvel Merch, along other things they don’t have theme park rights to, as I said I wouldn’t read too much into it. If the merch isn’t “trolls - at dreamworld” branded, then there isn’t anything to see here.
  23. The park still has boxes of Tower of Terror mugs, over a year after the ride closed. I wouldn’t be reading too much into the Free showbag, at last check they still had overflow supply of merch from the trolls village promotion.
  24. I wonder if this will get the same signage treatment that Scooby Next Gen got? #flat
