  1. welcome Zagan. none of what u just mentioned is news to any of us. The singapore guy was along time ago, u do realise that its owend my maqurie leisure trust now dont you? And I love the "if you go on the oil rig ride" hmm, giant drop is what i think ur looking for..lol. sorry dude, but that was definatley a waste of a new thread and a post really.
  2. I have just been looking on the movieworld web site and stumbeld across, what I have to say is disgusting. Movieworlds annual pass is now $150.00 all I can say is good bye this year when my pass expires, how do they justify going from $98 then $112 to $150..and that last jump to $150 isnt even within a year gap of it going to $112. Ive been lucky the last 3 years. i bought my original pass for $25 as an upgrade..I went in using fly-buys. The second year my pass expired but they did the upgrade again so i paid approx $85 and this year i went and got it cheaper than i should but wont go into that.lol. ANYHOW $150 to go to movieworld is way too high...whats your thoughts ppl?
  3. so joz when can we expect construction to begin?
  4. my post didnt change alex, sorry for saying they left it, instead of making sure it was the same as the other post, should of said turned around. Oh and thats right .......because i dont also put in the new post ( maveric direction )because i said (lethal/maveric) the first time. geess i must be making this up as i go, making it sound better every time i post. NOPE, im just not going to copy my first post word for word just to explain to someone that what i saw is what i saw. Also, from an outsider with a huge imagination... there hand gestures didnt show anything to do with the ride, if u actually read the first post i was just saying i thought it was funny that they were looking at the coaster in the window....then here we go again..pointed in the "LETHAL/MAVERIC" direction. i was merley pointing out that this also is a pretty good confimation that it will be a rocket coaster..that was the point of the original post any how. Anyway im convinced, dont care if u are...my source will turn out that once again they tell me info weeks/mths b4 it is anywhere near public knowledge or posted in the forums, and the maintance men also confirm this too. see ya!
  5. but i already knew what is is going to be, for a quite a few weeks now as my source told me. I was saying it was funny how the maintance men were looikng at the rockect coaster in the window, then when they left it, they were pointing towards lethal weapon area and then looked back in the window and chatted some more.
  6. i was at movieworld and dreamworld today, and just out of interest. in one of the shop windows now at main street near the roxy you will find a full window display of the KNEX rocket coaster....i cant remeber seeing this here b4 so:) also on the way out of movieworld 2 maintance men were looking at this very window, turned around and one of them started pointing his hand around lethal/maveric direction. just thought ide add a post....funny about the knex rocket.sneaky sneaky!
  7. Joz, i suppose it depends on who u talk too. However in a few months time we will see if my dreamworld source was correct about, A-a new roller coaster for the attraction and B- whether it is a rocket with top hat. My dw source has alsways given me correct info so far, so lets see.
  8. im going to dreamworld tommorw and movieworld, ill see if my dreamworld source has any more info and ill tell yous ok:) al they told me so far is that it will be a rockest with top hat, but ill do some digging tommorw....its funny how you have to get info from DW employess when we have two warner boys here not spilling anything.
  9. well the rumour i heard a two weeks back was a rocket coaster, but i hardly think 12 mill will get one.
  10. A floorless would be good:0, scream at magic mountain looks really good, especially just the look of it, its the only coaster atthe mountain i havent riden as it was about 3 weeks b4 it was to open when i went last.
  11. wemt to dreamworld yesterday, the claw and the wipeout were both walk- ons for the 4 hrs I was there. didnt go to the otherside of the park, but the bottom carpark wasnt bursting at the seems either. Movieworld was semi busy, but that didnt stop a pretty much 1 train wait on lethal weapon either. All i can say is if movieworld do get a launch coaster like xcellarator or dragster, u will get alot of oppurtunities to ride it over and over as oppsed to if dreamworld got one...the line would be miles..lol.
  12. thats true richard, TOT was a great investment for dreamworld, and has brought in many guests to the park. The part about they cant get another looper or water ride because it would be bigger and better, is differnt to the TOT. The cyclone was not a world class record holder costing 16million, it was just something cheap for them to throw into the park. So they could definatley outdo them selfs with cyclone because it wasnt something awsome and major to start with. All i was saying is a ride like dragster is to simlar to TOT, so i cant see dreamworld getting one, would you not agree with that statement? but i do think it is to do with the fact that it would outdo tot with a simlar ride. I was reading ACN and they were talking about the next coaster to beat kingda ka, they were saying maybe a new verkoma thrill lift, so maybe if dreamworld wants to beat TOT and bring something to the park that is big and tall and another record holder maybe that could be the go. I would love them to get a rocket coaster, i just dont think they would.thats all. And if the movieworld rumour is true that i heard, it dosent matter if dreamworld dosent get one anyhow. Apart from the fact if movieworld were to get a rocket coaster, especially something of dragster height..im afraid that dreamworld couldt fight back with a coaster to beat dragster, not for speed height and just the general buzz it would crerate. So in away i dont want movieworld to get one..lol because dreamworld has been my special place to go for nearly 10years straight!
  13. im not saying dreamworld is like disneyland,im saying other ppl are saying dreamworld is trying to be like disneyland. they are nothing like..disneyland has no high thrill rides like wipeout or the claw. Disneyland rides are awsome, but they are not high thrill teen rides. then ur point with the rocket coaster, i cannot see dreamworld gettin one, ive said this b4, it is to similar to tot, so what a waste of there original 16mil to build a rocket coaster which would be way faster in acceleration and if not higher as well. The tot would then be a waste of space for dreaamworld, offering similar launch at a slower speed.
  14. its funny how ppl say they are trying to be like disneyland, maybe the front entrance and main street, and even the river in the middle, but dreamworld is a thrill park, we do have world record holding rides, we do have rides that actually turn u upside down....disneyland has none of this, disneyland is a very family park, lots to look at the rides r awsome, but they r not rides like dreamworld have at all. Disneyland is a great park, but there is no point saying dreamworld is trying to be like them because they are total differnt.
  15. plus why do u say dreamworld needs 13 more coasters to catch magic mountain, and someone else in another post was saying cedar point have 17 coasters vs dreamworlds 4.......................Cedar point and magic mountain both have 16 coasters not 17!
  16. X at six flags dosent take up much room really, it is more length than what it is with width. Where the cyclone is now could of easily fitted in X. plus why do u say dreamworld needs 13 more coasters to catch magic mountain, and someone else in another post was saying cedar point have 17 coasters vs dreamworlds 4.......................Cedar point and magic mountain both have 16 coasters not 17!
  17. ahhhhhhhhh dreamworld in summer, has that time of year come round again... I dont even wanna think wat it will be like after xmas in those 4 weeks...and u guys with ur cyclone fan and hot water stoyries have just reminded me of how bad it is going to be in a cppl weeks...thanks ..lol. those times when at 11.00 ur face is already burnt to the crisp, no breeze, wet hair, humid and stinking hot. and the heat from dreamworlds concrete just beams right up. see ya at dreams:)
  18. yeah i have noticed that when viewing vids of the huss one, it seems to spin very fast. especially when u view one of the onride vids.
  19. Dreamworld wouldnt of spent a few million on themeing for the claw, all it has is the 4 feet and an old car they would of picked up from the wreckers for $600 dollars. at a guess, the most expensive part of the claw theming would be the new conrete they layed for the area, and the paint for the floor, shade, fence and plants would be next followed by the car. how do u get a few million from that. I couldnt give a price due to the cost of they huge slab and paint, however ur standard pool fencing like the claw has is approx $100 a panel. so ur fence would be approx no ore than $5000, ur car $600,the shade even a blow out price of $10,000 which is way to high of a guesstimate but for the example well but it at 10k. cpl of thousand for the plants(very high again)ur left with the slab.so $15000 plus slab/paint id say way below $100,000. not a few million.
  20. Do u really want dreamworld to put a new water park on the TB site, lets just think about it...1-they have one already, how about they just use that area and either fix it up or tare down and build a new one. 2- the TB site is not much different in size than the current blue lagoon location anyhow, plus the blue lagoon has a nice hillarea that they are usingto there advantage anyhow so it looks good with the pools down below. And finnaly you smack in a water park there, and there goes ur perfect spot just to pop in ur next coaster, seeing as its alredy level land etc its ready to go. we have wet and wild for a water park, dreamworlds is ok as it is.
  21. they are not the ones they have just installed paul. they were the ones original around the cyclone quene on each of the levels. the new ones are actually on brackets attached to the air ducting going to the floor.
  22. its funny that they have installed the screens at all, the claws screens havent been on the last 3 times ive been there, and its only 3 mths old.
  23. nothing was on them, just black screen, there is a brackct for a 5th on cyclone as well
  24. dreamworld has had a few theme songs, and there all good. *take a trip away *do dreamworld just for fun *dreams come true yeah *never had so much fun *so many worlds in one...my fav is dreams come true
  25. hey guys went to dreamworld today, wipeout is up and running, nice and quiet (apart from its usual high pitch from the motors, but no clunking or banging) Also they have added 4 48cm LCD screens in the cyclone queue area, and also there is one that i saw in the entrance to TOT, im guessing there is more but didnt go in the queue of TOT. The claw was a one ride wait ever go, if not straight on. Staff wise, the rides were manned pretty good, due to training of the xmas casuals.
