okies, seeing as no one else is giving info ill let u know what i found out today from my dreamworld source, who also knows many at movie world. The roumour is...movieworld will be getting a top hat roller coaters. no set details e.g (excellarator height or top thrill dragster height or even design, but will have top hat.) This is only a rumour, however the info i get from my friend so far has always been true.
-
I would also like a launch/top hat rollercoaster, but u can bet dreamworld arnt going to do it. They would not build a ride similar to TOT (which they kinda are the same) and total beat it speed wise, what a waste of their original 16million. Movieworld how ever could build one the same as dragster, then they would have one up on dreamworld:) However the GP may say its the same as TOT any how.
-
Whatever dreamworld gets next, it will be good But hopefully we do see a rollercoaster....otherwise were no better than movieworld, taking out a ride just to replace with one....And its not like movieworld had heaps to offer ride wise and they still did this. Dreamworld has alot of rides and i still dont like that they took out the tbolt and added another ride. They should try and get a bigger ride tally, not keep taking one out to replace. (remeber i like movieworld too...just a general comment..k

I went to dreamwrld yesterday, and asked my friend if she had heard anything about new rollercoaster, and she hadent. I asked if she knew why the bobcat and utes were at the thunderbolt site but she didnt evevn know it had happend:( so i cant help on info as of yet. Although there is talk about the new waterpark, and about the convention centre
-
if u were the guy taking photos of a boy at dolphin cove and a girl at the seal show, yes i did:) yes went on all rides and apart from sky way(closed)seen the shows apart from sos it was closed too.

Hi all, just a quick note. I was at dreamworld on thursday and at the thunderbolt site was a bobcat with a concrete hammer, and a cppl of utes with trailers doing a general clean up. The bobcat was over the far side were the hill used to curve at the start of thunderbolt, breaking up concrete. Thats all I have for you but I thought id pas it on. p.s- was at sea world today havent been there in years...i must say every staff member that we spoke too was so friendly and very nice..could be due to the fact that there was all of 20ppl in the park because of nonstop rain till 3-30, anyhow the staff were great.

I think dreamworld could re market the wipeout, i thought of it the other day. Dreamworlds wipeout is back with a vengence!!! Thill seekers be warned- EXTREME NEW CYCLE (RIDE IT.....IF YOU DARE!) NOW OPEN AT DREAMWORLD! JUST LIKE BATMAN THE RIDE 2......of course dreamworld would have to reopen the wipeout after its rehab with an extreme cycle!
-
p.s make sure u click on the pics to enlare then u see the whole coaster!
-
Ive mentioned this b4 but no comments were made, go to www.vekoma.com and have a look at the 10 loop coaster, it has launch start, and has many other elements, plus it has a double loop, so it would be just like seeing the thunder bolt..lol. Not only that but it also has a small footprint...it looks great so have a look!

im pretty sure they said GD was 12 mill, quite expensive really seeing as the tower is already there.

Dreamworld has had some Awsome shows a few years back, b4 ice fever, and moscow circus(which they had twice)....they had Dreamworlds AQUACADE one xmas period...and DUELLING PIRATES another time...these were good shows..considering dreamworld built an inground Diving Depth pool for the aquacade show, and kept it there till the next year for duelling pirates. It was in the area behind the gravatron but that was all grassed e.t.c or where tigerisland is currently(im pretty sure it was b4 tiger island was there, so it was probably there. Anyhow, thses were good shows and very big considering they were only xmas promotions..they could have kept them running but didnt, the main reason i think is that as the holiday period went on ppl had seen the show, and at the end of the xmas holidays the crowds at the shows were not as big. It would be good to have a big show at dreams, but i dont know whether it would pay them to do it......considering if it was a big show and a venue had to be built,,,thats money they have let go for there next big RIDE.....rides are more of a draw card for them i think than a show.

Thankyou OBSTRUCTURE, This is the second time you have come to my defence when being attacked.lol. Now when i said deal with it, I didnt mean it that harshly. However, my other points on unique rides stands! Like obstructure agrees, yes wipeout is a top spin ride(correct, but are u going to ride such a ride in australia NO!. So it is a unique ride experience. About wild west, i did put in brackets that it was better than a log flume, because it is. wild west is a great ride, but it is a flume ride, now where can i ride one of those.........hhhhhhhhhmmmmmmmmm...i know dreamworld log ride and sea worlds viking one. Thats all i was saying about unique. And as obs also said, ppl on here always saying what should we get next, its most always in the dreamworld forum, because we do get THE HIGH THRILL RIDES!!! AND YES WORLD RECORD RIDES YEAH!!!! remeber i have a pass to movieworld too i also do really like movieworld ok!
-
No matter how slack the service is at dreamworld, just deal with it. Dreamworld has given australia World Record Holder rides, more than I can say for movieworld, and sea world. (not that i have anything against theses parks, As i go to Movieworld everytime I go to dreamworld.) But dreamworld dose have lots more rides than both seaworld and movieworld put together. Themeing may not be like movieworld, but dreamworlds rides are great-not just a standard ride. E.g they have wild west falls -just a log ride *but i do admit it is better than a log ride. Batman- just a simulator Dreamworld on the other hand has unique rides e.g wipeout, tot, the claw, GD, Just my opinion- but like I said I like all the parks.

When it broke down a few years back, I believe its gear box on one side screwed up. Aparently the noise that it made was so loud it was heard from the other side of the park. Thats also why it was closed for a while, they had to get the part sent from O/S. (I think it was closed for 2-4 weeks) cant remember it was ages ago.

I viewd the wipeout a few times during my day on saturday, most of the morning the wipeout did not do its flips at the end, or the hang b4 it, it just levels out. However this isnt a recent thing, many times over the past few years(its a regular occurence.) Nearly ever cpl of times i go to dreams the wipeout has the flip problem. I for one think we should get a new cycle happening (one of the other 6-or 7 it has) (but we all know, when a new cycle is put into action, it always breaks down.) All together ive been on three cycles, the normal and xtreme world, where both years they had a differnt cycle.
-
Went on the claw 3 times on saturday! It really is a great ride. Wait times at park opening was 40mins the other two times I waited approx 20-30 mins.(however it didnt seem that long while I was in the queue.) #3 ppl were turned away because they were to large. A young boy about 13 was being stapeld in by two operators trying to get the seat belt to clip in without success.(they were trying hard there face was red, I felt sorry for the boy everyone was looking at him, and he had to get off!)

Joz, thats way expensive. Dreamworlds prices on there web page are quite low. There are many packages online if u have a look. they start at only $63 per person for the thrill seeker package and it includes 4 rides(tower of terror, cyclone, wipeout, and bumber cars.) All u have to have is a minimum of 150ppl,.and that includes nibbels. Then u can add on drink packages, meals, fireworks, entertainers. Street performers are exe they are $600. Anyhow lets get back on topic!

I will be there!
-
Well i was at dreamworld today, i will also confirm The CLAW is now in motion. I viewed it many times during the morning, and at lunch time they would have done approx 6 cycles in a row. More news on the AREA too, there will be a MINI PUTT PUTT being added. There is a staff preview for the ride next wednesday. I also asked my friend if they had heard of a new coaster for dreams.. they replied no, they havent heard anything about one. they are going to ask if the rumours are true. One more final note, was at Movieworld today, went on wild west, nothing has been done upstairs as far as i can see its the same as what it was 3 weeks ago b4 close down. they have however placed higher sides on the left of the boat so u only eixt the side ur supposed to!
-
the ali baba is crap!!! I too really like the Rainbow, it hasent been at the ekka in about 3-4 years now:( But for sure the rainbow is heaps better than ali baba. WHY? dont know..but the ride dosent even feel like the rainbow. Theres more force at the top when ur on rainbow.

Has anyone had a look at the vekoma 10 loop coaster yet, i posted here 2 days ago? what do u think of it.... www.vekoma.com it has many elements!
-
Just a thought everyone, I went looking at the vekoma web site again today, looking at the coaster offerings.....if you have a look there you will see the TEN LOOP coaster. It was designed to have many elements. it is a launched coaster, it has vertical loops x2 (have a look, it could be a new thunderbolt the two loops together and they are very large) it has a boomerang, corkscrews, heartline rolls, camel backs, double spiral, It looks awsome on the pic when u click to enlarge it, and it says it only requires a smallish footprint....just wondering how much vekoma would charge for this baby. check it out at www.vekoma.com

Also i forgot to mention, apparently BOB (head of rides and engineering) is going over seas in the next week or so to check out rides which may come to dreamworld. I was told it was to the USA.
-
That coaster in the pic looks quite crap, it looks just like a carnival version. If we are going to get a flying coaster lets make it a REAL ONE!!!! LIKE the superman ones at six flags parks!!! Ill do some asking at the park on the weekend Also i forgot to mention, apparently BOB (head of rides and engineering) is going over seas in the next week or so to check out rides which may come to dreamworld. I was told it was to the USA.
