  1. To me the Ferrari world ride looks really disjointed and a pretty poor integration of live sets, screens and the vehicle. Looks more like technology for technology's sake really. Hope the park does something better than that.
  2. Ricks is probably the best themed building in the park. It's pretty much exact to the film. Not sure if it's changing though with the refit.
  3. Yeah that's my point that no one does where as in the US EVERYONE does.
  4. I'm not talking about the few people that dine in at a crappy fast food joint though. Im talking sit down restaurants.
  5. Its funny, I always thought any restaurant in Oz would make a killing if they started the bottomless soft drink system that is pretty well the case in EVERY American Restaurant. Sure you loose post mix sales but the increase in revenue from people coming in would probably worth it. I'm not saying the parks should do this, theme parks make GOOD money from soft drinks but I'm just surprised.
  6. ^ fair point, I realise I didn't include that in mine above.
  7. WB used to also have a store at Crown Casino in Melbourne, not sure if it's still there though.
  8. Laid back? Hard to chill the hell out when all I keep reading on here day after day is a million 'moderators' , what seems like a competition for who can be the most informed and very little theme park discussion.
  9. Funny because when I visited the park with my family last week we didn't go near a single ride and had a great and full day. Yes the rides are a nice distraction but the real appeal and attraction of the park to most is the marine life aspect.
  10. If you guys all spent as much time concerned with theme parks as you are with other members this site would be awesome!
  11. I love how our community is so welcoming to new members in shutting them down only to resolve several posts later they were probably right.
  12. And the small manner of a lage commercial kitchen. Cause they are cheap to move!
  13. That's not true at all, no one is fired for joining a facebook group. As for posting inside information gained purely as a result of being employed by the company to the public domain that is another story, but staff members can certainly join a facebook group. There are many staff members on these forums whether you know it or not.
  14. There was a period a few years back it was operating as a full menu outlet. I fondly remember ordering fish and chips and a beer and having a pleasant time out. I really liked it as such. One idea that could work for the park is to maybe run it as a breakfast outlet open with the gates in the morning... That venue also worked fantastically as the Club Blood nightclub space at fright nights last year.
  15. All this talk of pushing ones head back or to the side... I found the constant pounding of my head in this position still gave me a hell of a headache. I know I wasn't alone. My sister rode last week and she had her head back firmly on the new seats and said she found the ride just as uncomfortable as before... I think the defensive riding methods described here were still not satisfactory for the majority of riders, hence the new train.
  16. It's most certainly a long overdue refurbishment of the restaurant. It's prime real estate and popularity make it a huge earner so no way it is going anywhere for a ride.
  17. Other SLCs don't have leg pain because they don't have lap bars (which these essentially are), however they are regarded around the world as the worst head banging rides there are. Even Kumali (sp?) which is meant to be the smoothest SLC there is managed to give me a few knocks. As for why B&Ms are different it's because the ride path is engineered completely different, they put the riders cheat at the 'centre' of the movements and forces where as the SLC has the wheels at the centre (or heart line). This along with the lateral shuffling of the bogie itself inherently gives a rougher ride. Have you ridden buzzsaw? The X Car restraint design also tightens significantly throughout the ride. Much worse than Arkham IMO.
  18. The colours in the photo with the Car really do look great. It may be a dead area of the park but it's quite picturesque.
  19. Why would I want to apply a pressure bandage to my leg before riding? Unfortunately it's not always possible to have ZERO discomfort, to EVERY rider. If you want zero discomfort we can always not strap ourselves to tons of steel and have it hurtle around a twisting track at fast speeds and high G forces. If you want the trill, you have to be strapped into the train. The extreme vast majority of riders worldwide were not happy with the headbanging, and in order to remove it you have to restrain the rider in another manner. If the harness can tighten during the ride that means there is room for it to tighten, which means there is potential room for you to slip out of it if it DOESN'T tighten. We've seen many overseas cases of riders slipping out of harnesses due to shifting body mass and forces mid ride.
  20. It's just simply not possible to put in a fail safe hydraulic harness system that will not tighten during the ride. Any anyone who says the little bit of discomfort that SOME feel at the end of the ride is far worse than the head banging is just straight out wrong. There is no way that is the case. Gazza is right, half the problem is shifting forward. I've found ALL harness systems like this to suffer the same effects. And no those are original Vekoma bogies, it's the seat hangers that are new. Sorry if I come of harsh but the new train is a vast improvement don't care what anyone says.
  21. A park bench may be an good ride option for people to consider as it will have no pain whatsoever and should provide a very comfortable experience. Alternatively HTFU people and enjoy the extreme rides.
