  1. 'Show Control' is the general term for the systems that work together to control lights, sound, effects, etc. not the actual effects (so lasers) themselves. The theatres are located down emergency exits. The in use one is the one close to the alley.
  2. Theatre remains, and another does too but is only a storeroom. The show control system was re used for scooby and some remnants of the ride remain. I think some of the animatronics may have made an appearance in Bermuda.
  3. Do people really stop random maintenance staff in the park and ask questions like this straight up? Do they manage to answer with a straight face?
  4. ^Whilst it's a face its not exactly 'fake' and has a fair bit of structure to it, a good part of it also houses stores and infrastructure for the Cafe so don't expect it to be knocked down anytime soon. As for the Alley, it's entirely possible we are all getting ahead of ourselves... we haven't seen anything to suggest the alley will still be connected with the rides theme, sure they were with lethal weapon still but I'd say that's more because it was already there. With the entrance for the coaster now beside superman, they could easily do something totally different with the alley, we also don't know know that construction walls on the alley will come down with the rides opening if they are in fact no longer related. I don't know one way or another, but just speculating.
  5. And you need more variation in your posts, but you don't see a bunch of us all complaining over and over again about you*... Seriously you have made your point, do you need to keep banging on and on about it? *this post excepted
  6. So would you prefer to keep the old trains Witsy? I really don't see the point of your posts continually saying how you don't like the trains, form is one thing but they must function too.
  7. Figure there is no harm in saying now... There has been one new seat at the park for testing purposes for a very long time so that's your promo pic and parkz update explained. The rest of the train has arrives more recently.
  8. Whilst the park has resembled California adventure a little but lately with all the construction I think it's pretty safe to say the place will be a hot ticket come October with pretty much 3 new attractions including GL
  9. I'd go with change of weight of the trains too if the speed has changed. As for tracking and friction, that concept art actually looks likes the same rolling stock/wheel bogies as the old train so I doubt much will be different here. It's the new seats that will make the difference.
  10. ^ You post doesn't even make sense, someone else posted pretty much counter arguing all of your points and you say they had an "Epic Fail" I really don't see how. I contemplating deleting your pointless post but its more fun to leave it for others to see.
  11. This is a comment I always take issue with!! Unless you are a park employee or ride contractor/manufacturer EVERYONE is general public. Self proclaimed enthusiast or not, you're still general public. Simple, if you use the main gate when entering a park you are GP. It is well known there are staff and insiders on parkz but they also post here as personal opinion so even then they are really GP here. I just hate it when people talk 'above' other people.
  12. I don't think it's at all correct to say its boring. It's not as thrilling as Superman but is it meant to be? It's a great ride (in the front I'll give you that) with some great elemens. Everyone entitled to their own opinion but I don't think this one is a very accurate represention of the ride. I doubt very much the audio will be let go, it's a solid state system and there isn't a lot to 'let go'. But it's plausible it may not trigger on occasion. Most rides with untethered on board audio are all the same.
  13. Superman was steam, GL has meefog. Is it not plausible that something with the superman water dump broke and it's out for repair?? With the amount the ride would cost to run, turning off the dump to save money would not really make any sense. I spose another option is to close the entire ride until the water dump is fixed, that would be logical!
  14. That's funny because there was actually concept art for a mad max thunderdome coaster type ride from back when the park opened.
  15. Pretty sure that is just an excuse for DW to use. You'll notcie that the gysers on WWF were turned off for the same reason and once the drought ended they were turned back on.
  16. Not really a good move to speak over and correct/make your interviewer look silly... just a tip for next time.
  17. I'm guessing it was just a normal breakdown in which case people get evacuated off the train and taken out the nearest exit, I wouldn't be too worried. Dump scene was working earlier in the week so possibly just has a minor problem in need of repair.
  18. I don't mind going on my own to somewhere new if no one else is going, and I can happily visit Disney alone if need be. But I much prefer hanging with friends at parks. We're not silly about things and if one wants to do something another doesn't we can always split for a while.
  19. Because a 25 year old ride that would have been shipped accross the world twice is probably not a wise investment in terms of expected cost of ownership. R&M on the old machinery is probably going to be very cost prohibitive.
  20. ^ That phrase and the gold coast don't exactly sit together well
  21. Yes this ride would be a bad idea but Id almost guarantee if someone built a brand new boomerang tomorrow the public would eat it up.
  22. Really I think you would be surpised how much floats of that quality could cost, you could easily be talking millions because they are a one off. It's a bit like a Disney attraction, it doesn't actually cost $100million to build, its mostly the design costs that make the figure so very high. As for the wall, there was only an argument because someone felt the need to know better and big note themselves, and amazingly in the end they were wrong. Imagine that!
  23. And that is Jambaroo's downfall. They moved away from the action park and started turning it into a water park. Now they could get screwed. They should have kept their balance of attractions.
  24. Fair enough. I'll take you're word for it. It's such a stupid small image to post it makes it hard.
