  1. I've seen the new attraction and was pretty happy and impressed with the 4D side of things. I felt it actually enhanced the film rather than just acting as a gimmick (no silly horse trotting movements here). The motion that's been programmed into the seats is first rate and a credit to the guys that did the work. The audience actually applauded at the end when I saw it so for me that's a win. As far as I know the movie is pre-made and when you purchase or license it you can choose what 4D enhancements to make, so it's all pretty much in house, and has been really well done.
  2. Wow Scott a boilermaker, yep that totally qualifies you to work out all of the mechanical, structural and electrical engineering aspects involved in launching the car. If you're such a physics expert, have you heard of friction? The heavier the car, the more friction and deag it's going to have, inetia is one small piece of the puzzle. You say people here know f all about it and neither does Bob Tan, well it's clearly you who are showing your ignorance here. I don't see how anyone can bash dreamworld at all for what they're doing with this attraction.
  3. Oh I know what you were saying, what I'm asking is what is this attraction you say is planned?
  4. To be honest in my opinion if your reasons for choosing which pass to get are based on the card itself then get the dreamworld one. The dreamworld pass gets you less attractions and less parks so yes sure they should be making a better card to justify the price. Honestly cheaping out is a pet peve of mine and I could go on all day about generic napkins and single ply toilet paper. But I really could care less if the pass isn't a hard card. As Gazza said, qld drivers licenses are nothing more than a laminated piece of cardboard. My coles discount card is of the same material as the VIP pass and it's in my wallet all hear round, gets used all the time and Ive never lost or damaged one...
  5. Cheap? You think a re theme would be cheap? We'd be talking about many millions of dollars.
  6. Smoke in Scooby is real hit and miss, you just have to get the right ride. Smoke by nature is very hard to control and in a building that big, with that much airflow even more so. As for the scooby lift, sounds it's usual self to me.
  7. I love it... It's so great, this pass cheap as and great value ra ra ra... Oh hang on, why don't I get an expensive hard plastic card? If people want the cheap pass, you can't also expect the benefits of the old expensive annual passes. Only stands to reason.
  8. I would have to say I put this with Bermuda, Scooby and Superman as an attraction addition that allows our parks to be considered world class! Have to give credit where credits due for this choice of addition.
  9. All slides and canopy are now up. Really does look GREAT!
  10. Id just like to stop seeing announcements pop up on my facebook wall about them every single day.
  11. Minor news... After seemingly finishing 2 of the slides then stopping they've started work on the lower sections of the Red slide. I am guessing Aqua Racer will need to close to complete the loops for the 2 eastern slides as they are so close to the attraction. Interestingly though no closure for AR is listed on the website. The canopy for the top of the slide tower has also been delivered and can be seen behind the tower, it's very colourful. sorry no pictures as I was just driving past.
  12. So next weeks epissode on 10 is the one with the US Theme Park CEO for anyone interested in seeing it.
  13. Those rides in question are only able to open until 9pm because of local residents and noise so there really is no option for tha park on this one.
  14. As soon a possible to me reads more like in the next 3 years, rather than the next 3 months.
  15. And a much more adult orientated experience!
  16. I wouldn't be too worried Original, doesn't sound like too much truth to that concept to me. They would have announced it by now you'd expect.
  17. Lasers are usually fairly innefective when used to 'project' as all you would see is a rather shaky dodgy thin cicle on the walls. They look their best when you're looking at them which would mean it would have to be in the middle of the tunnel which obviously isn't possible. Neon or LED would be a much better effect here IMO ala Space Mountain.
  18. You can tell them and they will probably know if it's normal or not. What sounds like one thing to us can actually be completely different and it's the ops who hear the ride day in day out that will know what is norm and what is not. It is not uncommon to hear a loud BANG as Lethal Weapon leaves the station at Movie World, sounds bad but is usually just the train missing one link of the lift chain. You would be surprised to learn it's usually by hearing, that problems with equipment are first detected. But pays to be on the safe side, so go ahead and let the op know.
