  1. Apologies for my early typo, I was on the move and clearly failed to proof. But yes my critique would and is of any park with temporary rides masquerading as park models. I know the history of the park, but I still don’t like it. I absolutely hate it when permanent parks have clearly obvious traveling rides. I thought it looked equally awful when Sea World had Trident 1.0 sitting there.
  2. Perhaps they won’t be replaced with tired traveling rides sitting on chocks for 20 years!
  3. Depends... there was what they had initially when next gen opened. Then last year there was a subsequent major upgrade to the Disco room because the first was so awful. Mainly driven by a change in park management that saw the need to improve the experience. That wasn’t included in the first lot of course but did cost significantly less than the first awful effort.
  4. Yes But if you still recon they got value for money then that’s insane.
  5. Didn’t they say back at that time they spent about 3 million on a thing. That’s a fair wack of cashola
  6. Well we know how much they spent. We saw the $5 job result they got. It’s hard to draw any other conclusion but that they got swindled.
  7. Or the company that promised the world were actually just some hopped up tweakers who were all fluff and no delivery. Two concerned with their next burning man adventure to finish and took village’s money and ran. It’s no excuse for the end product, just an example of be careful what snake oil salesmen you hire.
  8. WnW needs A LOT of overdue love. Let’s hope it gets it.
  9. That was a ridiculously long post with so many practical errors on how mechanical and ride systems need to actually work. It’s not a tractor in a paddock or a dam water pump. You can’t just bang it on a contractor and use a couple hundred dollar clutch on the drive she’ll be right. I’d suggest learning a lot more about how ride control and mechanical systems are put together before giving such a lengthy technical analysis and set of instructions again. It’s also laughable that you think the rubber rings for the rafts are some kids inflatable.
  10. Well that’s odd because there’s only one person working at the company that I know still wears a suit.
  11. So glad to see something done and dusted bring torn down there and not just sitting rotting away. It’s funny it’s another park that’s meant to be ‘under new management’ but really seems the main place that’s happening is a few km down the road. Such a big change in the Oxenford parks in the last couple years and now seems WnW is getting the attention we’ve recently seen at MW.
  12. I have no issue with them re using them in. Even Disney pulls that one. Better than it going in the skip.
  13. Yeah they get a pass on the name from me. It’s ‘fine’ and the colours look good. Just make the station nicely presented and absent if any half assed awful theming and it will be a solid attraction in the lineup.
  14. Im just looking through those photos above and wondering exactly where does any of this park look like somewhere appealing to visit?
  15. Bit of DejaVu there of how 'Sea Viper' looked just before it was given the can.
  16. I mean wasn’t that just plain shit. It’s both a mash together of things already very publicly known and sitting on the internet and contains no real history of the ride. Also says nothing of why the ride had its ‘empty’ period and got next gen in the first place. The projections whilst questionable don’t replace any theming except in one spot (the post wild mouse jungle room) so they may not add anything. But they replaced a blank wall and a plain mirror. The ‘disco’ room doesn’t contain any lasers or fog. It has a period of some terrible lasers and no fog. And since received an extensive upgrade of 50 odd moving lights and a lot of LED lighting. So yeah, save yourself the 10mins.
  17. Not much effort to replace it with a new system though. It’s just a couple of towers, gondolas and drive system. skyways are still very big business today worldwide.
  18. That side of the park is the only day time operation ‘back of house’ access for vehicles, plant and other services. You’d also have to pass through back of house staff areas and maintenance workshops to get to it. Else you’d have to go in front of the dock which obviously can’t work because then it’s not a dock. Yes there are terrible chock points in the park, but opening that path to guests just isn’t an option.
  19. They do though... because we’re talking about commenting on a photo. Pretty much everyone down to jo public is bombarded with images of what Disney and the other too minds are producing today. And that’s just theme parks. What about things like Vivid Sydney, or Marina Bay Sands? Whilst the photo in question I would say looks moderately cool. So do a lot of standard urban and shipping centre developments these days.
  20. Why that statement? Its common knowledge is the App is from Accesso who aren’t exactly cheap and are kind of the standard for this sort of thing in parks.
