  1. yeah i’m a bit disappointed tbh. where’s the rock work and smoke coming out of the tunnel? why’s there pool fencing surrounding it? why is it just all concrete and commercial looking? the white sheds left over from arkham too… i hope this video is old and more landscaping and theming has been added. it feels like all the budget went towards the indoor queues and emerald city facades, i hope im proved wrong. at this point, i am more excited for Rivertown and Jungle rush overall.
  2. i mean that’s true but businesses do tend to hire seasonals (especially for summer) around the time holidays do start, so it could explain it. either way, businesses are going to make financially smart decisions.
  3. could the weekdays be used for staff training for new summer seasonal workers? i know a lot of Dreamworld ride ops do work the slides as well so they could be operating the park for the opened weekends currently.
  4. one thing i’ll never understand is not being able to do up our own seat belts, especially with rides such as Superman and Rivals. people have been doing up their own seatbelts on Superman for 18 years, and Rivals for 3 years before covid, atleast Steel Taipan and Flash actually opened with those rules (even if SurfRider didn’t have that rule.) i wonder if we’ll be able to do the seatbelt on fotww ourselves or not.
  5. i don’t think the park has been forgotten, i think the park is just in a good enough state for it to be left without big investments while they sort out the dry park. i mean i still prefer it over WnW, but i do hope a lazy river is on the parks radar. maybe they could tie in Dreamworlds next coaster with a new Lazy River + slide tower and have interactions like Gold Coaster and TOH tower has.
  6. maybe they should’ve somehow gotten Ariana to come up here while she was in Australia… they really would’ve struck gold even harder.
  7. i mean if they can remove ToT but keep GD, i’m sure six flags could do the same with Superman and Lex Luther.
  8. it would be pretty reasonable pricing if they had full park availability across all parks. imagine a family of 4 spending $716 on passes, $100+ per day on food and bev, with Sea World having half its attractions currently closed, Scooby Doo & Doomsday closed with who knows what else closed and WoO not open yet, Wet n Wild being ran down. would that be worth around $1200?
  9. i wouldn’t be surprised if the area will open prior to the first night of White Christmas, maybe that’s why the event doesn’t start until the 7th instead of earlier. also, does anyone know how many nights the event is normally on? it seems like there’s fewer dates this year but i could be wrong.
  10. let’s just hope they don’t close the WoO coasters and scooby at the same time, but when Scooby reopens it should balance out maintenance periods a lot more (thank god.)
  11. this will most likely be the entrance used when Superman closes for maintenance just like when Arkham was operating, hopefully they leave it open at all times though.
  12. rides always test at night, let’s just be happy it’s testing now. even if it’s because “they’re behind schedule”, atleast they’re smart with time management.
  13. or maybe they’ll just open motorcoaster and rivertown at the same time? just because one got pushed back doesn’t mean the entire thing did.
  14. ^ i agree, the event definitely improved in quality which explains no new mazes, however i hope next weekend there is more actors especially on main street and the doomsday area. i hope they keep the improvements they made for this year while spending the budget on 5 new mazes next year, even though the ones they had were good (CirCurse was upgraded quite a bit with more actors and smaller groups going through), they were predictable as they’ve been there for years. the encounters also were a great addition.
  15. the ride isn’t closing to february, they then have to take down the whole ride (which will take longer then usual as it’s surrounded by guests paths and the park is open at night two nights a week), they then have to do ground work, electrical, vertical construction, theming, commissioning, and then get it signed off. February - December construction period sounds good. for all we know end of the year could be anytime from September - December.
  16. allegedly, Gumbuya’s “special announcement” was just that they were opening more pools.
  17. if you’re over 5’10, the bulky Zamperla restraints are a no go and it’s very restricting on riders, more so then the current restraints. King Claw will definitely be superior then anything they could’ve gotten from Zamperla.
  18. the park was running both trains on Rivals yesterday, however only one of the trains had the loud clanking noise going up the lift hill. they were testing the ride consistently both early in the morning and then again late at night so i’m sure they’re trying to fix the issue.
  19. maybe the significance to the community is that they are refurbing the ride with new gondola’s which has never been seen before and is now an option to parks with outdated Intamin Gyro models. if it is a new 360° model, i hope it has a non inverting and inverting cycle, i find the hang time the inverting models offer to be uncomfortable and unpleasant.
  20. it’s a 25 minute press conference at a world expo, correct me if i’m wrong but this is the first Australian attraction to be announced in this way. it won’t be a retrofit of The Claw or MC, unless like @DJKostyasaid it’s something never done before like TT2. my guess is it’ll either be a big new coaster, a first of its kind flat ride or something of big significance to the industry.
  21. if it’s being announced at IAAPA i doubt it’s going to be a renovation of an existing ride or a small flat, it will be something noteworthy. my money’s on a big coaster, but we’ll see what happens.
  22. Gold Coaster and Giant Drop have been refurbed in recent years, so i don’t think it’s “their new focus now”, it’s always been an ongoing project. the only two left would be The Claw and Motorcoaster, hopefully both get new restraint systems with whatever upgrade they’re getting.
  23. i believe they just haven’t updated the maze line up, from people who have audition for positions i’ve heard a Beetlejuice maze is happening so who knows. we’ll find out when they start posting announcements im guessing tonight.
