Future Additions for Gold Coast Theme Parks
Slick replied to themeparklover's topic in Theme Park Discussion
How about them future additions for Gold Coast Theme Parks, huh? -
I went Friday night and folks, if you haven't gone yet - be sure to go all out on the $150 terror tour or by the fast track passes. Friday was sold out completely and you could definitely tell. But enough talk, here's some cool bits for you guys to enjoy. So many zombies. Much wow. Plenty of street performers to be had. These guys were awesome. IV top up anyone? Plenty of park atmosphere all round. And fire. Lots of fire. Familiar? Or is this more up your alley? As per always, if you want to be subjected to my rants and thoughts, there's a link for that: http://ourworlds.com.au/fright-night-2014-review/

Here's some photos from the media call yesterday. Hope you folks enjoy! This ride definitely took me by surprise - it's a whole heap of fun. If you ride it, bring friends. You'll be able bet on how many barrel rolls/who vomits first. Plenty of detail to be had. Incredibly pretty much? Ready to ride? Triple Vortex also opens Saturday. Provided the weather stays clear it'll be a slide you won't want to miss. I've posted some more of my thoughts on Tailspin here. It's definitely surprising and comes recommended.

Parkz News First look at Dreamworld's Tail Spin
Slick replied to Parkz News's topic in Theme Park Discussion
Quoted for truth. Flea's a monopod master. -
There's heaps of new steel bollards around the claw and tailspin that are brand new that are painted to look like people. It's really cool and is an "only Dreamworld" special touch. The geeks will notice that not only are the restraints automatic like wipeout but require no seatbelt either and are the same system that adventure world have on abyss. It's relatively comfortable on the whole but fair warning for the lads, it'll be a snug fit around the crotch if you're talk and skinny, if you know what I mean. There's audio in the queue line simulating planes flying over. Right now it's a smidge too loud but in saying that, when they have a hundred people lining up it could be the perfect volume.

I've just ridden the ride and can tell you it's surprisingly very neat. The area is atmospherically themed in the same way the claw and wipeout are. It's clean and has some really cool details which make the ride very unique in its new little location. Overall ocean parade is looking great. I've shot some onride footage today too, so those who can't wait can get a feel for what the ride is like before Friday. Expect to see that go live late tonight. Without ruining the surprise, Parkz was also on deck this morning grabbing some great footage of tailspin - I'd dare say you guys are going to be really spoilt this time by the amount of coverage and attention we've all given it. Well done Dreamworld - call me incredibly impressed.

MW Mini Driving School - Officially Confirmed

Say what you want about our woeful political leaders, but by and large our military and our police forces do some truly exceptional work (when they're not handing out explosives at airports or following political agendas like the bikie laws here in Queensland.) In that regard, I'd rather not even talk about it. The last thing I'd want is for a park to read this, get spooked by the meare talk of this kinda crap and then have to resort to bag searches for all guests and prohibit certain slogans on clothing like six flags did/do.

So this just happened: https://au.news.yahoo.com/sa/a/24975915/teen-critical-after-being-flung-from-ride-at-royal-adelaide-show/?cmp=fb Apparently she was flung from the airmax 360 ride. Not a lot of details yet as why it happened specifically.

Thanks themagician. Just out of curiosity, and i've always wondered this - does anyone prefer one map style over the other? I do like the way Movie World's looks (hand drawn) versus Dreamworld's map type. It's by no means anything that I think actually matters, they're park maps afterall, I don't even use them, and they both serve their purpose equally as well, I just like the quirkiness of the hand drawn type.

I've checked it through a few different browsers and my iPhone and it seems to render the 3 photos and the videos okay? Are you running on Android? Perhaps that's a Richard thing to look into. And thanks for your kind words. I will say though the last two Tailspin updates (26th & 29th respectively) were submitted by a contributor (cheers Shireen) and meagrely touched up and captioned poorly by yours truly.

Time to get your update on. Quick overlook at the progress. If I had to take an educated guesstimate, you'll probably be spending a long time here. Blue paths! Get it? Ocean Parade? It's actually all coming together really nicely. Plenty more park-wide updates, click this bit and read all about it. You guys might enjoy this, too. And this.
