  1. Yeah, that was brought up on the last page: http://www.parkz.com.au/forums/index.php?s...ost&p=46068
  2. ^Wait, so do you like them, or are you being sarcastic? Re the original post, each 'lif't vehicle (eg the thing you ride around in) has its own wheels and can trundle along independently, it works just like the Big Red Car ride at DW, with a wire in the floor it can track to guide it into place (Eg when it is reversing out of the loading area, when it is driving through the 5th dimension room on the orlando version to get to the main freefall shafts, and when it is parking at the unload at the end). On the vertical freefall parts the vehicle just drives into a bigger lift cabin (I guess it doesn't have a roof), then the cabin is pulled up and down by cables at both the top and the bottom of the cabin (2 motors) so in a sense it is a bit like a spaceshot in that it can be hauled upwards and pulled downwards faster than gravity. When it has done its thing in the freefall shaft, it reverses out of the cabin and parks at the unload.
  3. An Aquatrax isn't really a water coaster (A bit of a common misconception, Intamin don't actually make a proper equivatlent to the Mack and Premier rides offerings) An Aquatrax is just a launched coaster with 8 person jet ski style cars, and can do a trick where it skims close to the water surface, throwing up spray a bit like a B&M dive machine: http://www.parkz.com.au/photo/US/Tampa/Bus...82-SheiKra.html And even then riders don't get wet because it doesn't enter the water properly. To me it seems like a wierd concept with its only point of difference being the saddle style seating (I guess you could say it's second point of difference is that it is the only water coaster that doesn't go in the water ), which might explain why they have only sold one. Still, if SW are after a milder alternative to corkscrew, it seems like a fairly good option.
  4. ^Well, as said it could be an Aquatrax since that has jet ski trains, and the sole Aquatrax in existence looks far better than Motocoaster.
  5. On the top hat its only a small pop for me, but on the two hills it seems to last 2 or 3 seconds.
  6. Well, obviously my post is meaningless now since you went and changed your entire post like you always do (Stop doing that! This is what, the 20th time you have done this! ) , therby disrupting the flow of conversation. We're not stupid, In the post prior it says: And in the post above this one it says: So all you did was change the first post, and then a minute later wrote the second one pretending what I wrote didn't make sense, when in fact I did make sense before you went and edited. What are you trying to achieve?
  7. Don't know what was going on there, I was using the slider to jog along to the point in the video I was after and was using the time it was showing, maybe doing it that way doesn't work. I just did it by pausing, and it is at 1:01.
  8. At the 34 second mark of this video: look on the right and you can see the track switch in the shadows. Its hard to see on the backwards bit since it is on the inside of the backwards turn.
  9. I don't see that as being out of the range of our parks, but its not my first choice either. Let Superman be the ride with the launch and keep that as its unique feature, plus I'd rather not see a Vekoma as their sucky train designs have the ability to ruin a good layout. I'd rather a bit more variety for the time being...A coaster type not yet explored by the park since there are a few of them out there. I'd also personally rather a looper to be one with a lift hill, nothing beats the anticipation of them. B&M Diving Machines are something I really enjoy though, they have probably the best first drops of all the coasters out there and have a decent ride time. Another good point is that they range in cost at about 15-17.5 million AUD, which is certainly within the budgets of our parks. I actually think that cost could be driven down more by ditching the MCBR and running two trains instead of four. 30 people per cycle still means it is throwing down more people per cycle than any other thrill ride in the park. Plus we would be getting a floorless and a 'big' ride all in one go.
  10. What, and motocoaster doesn't have separate ones?
  11. Wouldn't the animals get disturbed if a ride was running around them? Though I suppose Journey to Atlantis at SW San Diego has that tank of commersons dolphins at the ride exit:
  12. Arrgh, if you are going to copy a competitor at least copy one of their good rides. Edit: Oh wait, DW were talking about here, copying a good ride would involve building a gyro swing or a freefall, out of the question in this case . Well, I think 'jet' would be referring to a jet ski rather than a jet plane obviously given this is SW we are on about here. Maybe this sort of theme, it relates to the ocean after all? Now, I don't know if Intamin have any alternate themes for their motocoaster accelerator, after all we only have one, but I do know that Vekoma offer a few different options for their motorbike coaster: http://www.vekoma.com/index.php?option=com...5&Itemid=13 one of which is a rather sleek looking sea doo type vehicle, seems to match Mattcrombies description anyway....its a derivative of the motorbike concept, its more thrilling (Vekoma have the better layouts than Intamin) and its definitely marine themed, come to think of it it would be pretty cool, SW is lacking a family coaster ever since thrill seeker left. Zamperla are also another option if it is like motocoaster, they make alternative themes to normal motorbikes, such as the horses being used on Pony Express at Knotts, maybe they could do a sea doo vehicle also? Please let it not be the pandas. They dont want to lose their job. Still, Ill wait till we see something official.
  13. ^Vekoma has 4 (Lethal, Reptar, Roadrunner, Wipeout and formerly 7 if you count in Centrifuge, Supernova and Demon) in Australia off the top off my head, though I don't know why people would want them ahead of the products from other manufacturers.
  14. They'd better get moving then if its a 2008 attraction...Maybe it will be worth getting a MyFun Mega Pass for SW too when I get up to Brisbane just so I can see how this all pans out. I must also say that $22 Million sounds like a decent amount. Realistically WnW would only take at most $2 Mil given the average price of water slides (The Rip at WWW was on;y $1.4 Mil) At AOS I cant imagine there being any major captial works, so its probably $20 Mil between SW and MW really, no huge rides most likey (unless they spent all their money mostly at one park), but probably something quite decent in each park.
  15. ^If you were riding Superman, would you put things in the lockers in preference to riding with them?
  16. So its definitely going to open by the end of this year?
  17. Arrrgh, that just defies logic doesn't it, wish people would be more careful. I have taken stuff on with me many times on rides and this was with open pockets, and never came close to losing anything, dont know why it would be any different for other people. What sort of things are people managing to lose? I wonder if people are just trying to scam free stuff by saying that they lost it. I say let anyone take stuff on, just do it at their own risk of loss, which seems quite workable to me since MW would have no real duty of care if the items are in possession of the guests themselves.
  18. ^Second the Popeye motion (Though not necessarily that theme), A decent rapids ride is something Australia lacks, Thunder River (and Snowy River Rampage) were just not wet enough and have quite tame courses, I'd love to see one with drops, bigger rapids, and those boat swamping waves.
  19. Are you guys referring to the Hippo exhibit? Or will there be another ride built after the Hippo exhibit but before the water coaster?
  20. ^That's what I have always thought too, we seem to get quite a few big brother threads (often just basic news articles about minor events or cast changes)...I guess because its at DW people create some sort of connection. Its just happens to be filmed next to the park, but its not at all theme park related. Its just another show IMO, I would have thought a single superthread for all BB stuff would be sufficient.
  21. ^It would be tough to beat Disney, but that definitely is a park I want to visit, Obviously for the B&Ms there, but Curse of DarKastle seems worth the trip if it is anything like Spiderman. If I ever visit the NE USA I will make a special effort to visit (will probably try to head over that way since I want to see NY on my next trip to visit my sister) Yeah, but WL wasn't that good in the first place. I guess it also comes down to the fact that if you were in the US, there are better parks to be visiting than the Cedar Fair Paramount ones. This has to be a pretty odd thread, I posted it, got one response and thought "Ah, must be a crap topic on my part", all of a sudden I get a bunch of replies months later in a couple of days.
  22. What? To make I'll informed assumptions, Yup, you are totally on the money there. How am I being childish? All i did was point out (validly) the error in your logic.
  23. Wow, you really do give Sherlock Holmes a run for his money dont you? I never realized that knowing a basic fact about a show meant that you were a frequent viewer. I guess you would be able to argue that I watch Teletubbies daily because I know they are named Tinky Winky, Dipsy, La La, and Po.
