  1. Well, we have had lots of talk about exreme rdies for the park, but what about smaller broad appeal rides, what would people put and where? Also, would goldrush have space for a new ride?
  2. Plus it has broader appeal, and seriously, how would you market it? the GP would just think it was the normal pirate ship, or would just compare it to something like the hangover, A waste of money, there are other rides i would rather see at SW.
  3. Could they pump extra power in to make up for any losses caused by the rides ageing?
  4. How much could a new computer cost anyway? $20000, $30000, they would make that much in a day.
  5. I know it is owned by MLT, which is kind of funny because they have a waterslide named the tunnel of terror, they must have been real short of ideas. I would like to visit sometime, they have some good rides, and thats pretty good considering they are in an isolated city smaller than sydney and melbourne (and then people turn around and say a big park wont work in sydney even though AV works in perth)
  6. Well, the other record is creating "structural and design history" which sounds a bit vauge, its not as if i go "OMG, i gotta plan a trip to DW, GD has created design history, and the gondolas are 8 across, man that is soooo cool! the only real record it has that's at all exiting is its tallest freefall record, and even then its just 12m ahead of its nearest competitor.
  7. Cool, you didnt fail to let us down when it comes to captions. I got a laugh reading the tge Las Vegas gallery in the bit about wendys burgers being square, I remeber seeing and advert for one in an american magazine and thinking it was really unnatural. Also, what is so good about krakens zero g roll?
  8. So alex, with all the footers you saw. how were they arranged? were there lots of little ones like on a coaster, or were there big flat ones like for buildings, or a few large ones like a flat ride.
  9. To telly you the truth, being the first freefall to have 8 across seating is a pretty crappy record,
  10. Flyers are not suspended all the time, what about the lie sections of the ride, you are just trying to be to utopian with your ride choices, if the rides are so similar then why are they seperate products? why do all the SF parks, and AT have inverts too? Eureka and Cyclone both run above the track, but I never heard you whinge about them being to similar. I never heard anyone complain that WL had two woodies.
  11. Saftey has nothing to do with it, it used to go higher, so why not do it agin, plus there is a brake right at the top to stop in an emergency. And what about Impulse coasters, they get right to the end of the track, its not like the TOT is in RCT and will shoot off the end and fall backt to the ground and explode like its made of ethane. I dont see how running it a bit slower would make much of a difference to power consumption in the scheme of things. it might be the equivalent of having the park open for an extra minute a day. Well, why dont people stat doing something proactive about what they think of TOT and GDs queue, write a letter instead of complaining the same things we have heard before and have agreed with.
  12. Gee, not for at least another 20 or 30, maybe even longer if they overhaul it.
  13. Yeah, DW should build up some more lift hill coasters before its next launcher.

    TOT recreation: NL

Yeah, an NL treack, just unzip and go.
  15. Here is my recreation of the TOT, I didnt bother with a screewn, everyone knows how it looks, anyway, enjoy.
  16. Lethal weapon and cycone have better layouts, but are too rough, but corkscrew is smoother but it has a less interesting layout. My vote goes to LW just for its size.
  17. Cool, if they are looking , lets all suggest a B&M to them, send a letter. Delirium does not go all the way around.
  18. If you were looking for an inverted launch coaster, Intamin would bethe wy to go, they Built Volcano: The blast coaster, a four inversion ride at a paramount park somewhere (cant remember which one though)
  19. And anywy, id hardly call a 6 or & or even an 8 looper an enthusiast only ride, there are plenty around and they are popular. An enthusiast ride would be something like TTD but with like 11 inversions and tons of airtime hills etc, and I would not expect any park to build a ride like that. I just want a coaster comparable to the rest of the world, i mean there is a park in Taiwan with 2 B&Ms.

    My Coasters

Black nova - really just TTD, but with an inside top hat and brakes that dont stop the train properly in the unload station. Also, no need for the brakes at the start of the launch to be so long, and it should have a complete stop for about 5 seconds. Raptor Vengance- a nice fast layout, but whats with the 90m long oddly shaped u turn transport section after the final brakes, it was unnecesarry when you could have just had the final brakes parallel with the station, and a u turn only about 15m long. Also, im not too sure how comfortable the passengers would be going down the top hat in the riding position involved with a motorbike coaster. An OK attempt though. Corkscrew Classic- Launched start was cool, it left you wondering, but the ride detierorated after that, it wasnt heartlined, it had support collisions, gs were out of the green in some spots (keep them in the green except for positive vertical gs which can go to the yellow) The corkscrews were mis-shaped. The mid course brakes were curved, they should be perfectly straight. There were missing supports on the first drop and on the loop twist thing before the mid course brakes. Also, the final brakes shall not have friction wheels, in real life there are none because they would get chewed up quickly. Fireball - a good go at an impulse, probalby the best attempt of the four.
  21. Yeah, the next ride might be a family one, which is why my Whirlwind coaster idea is such a good one . People drive across (or rather up) the country to visit theme parks here too and for the some people, you might say its a once in a lifetime trip, a fair percentage of the GCs parks visitors would have to be holiday makers. What i was saying above was more saying that scott shouldnt be so intimidated by a 6 inversion or 7 inversion ride.
  22. I said two 32 passenger trains, 2 times 36 is 64 and 64 divided by 15 is 4.266666 so i rounded that back to 4, i was right. How can you really say that you dont like too many inversions, what big multi loopers have you ridden, i think i remember you saying a while back you hadn't been to any parks out of Australia. Yeah, I wouldnt really want coaster after coaster, i would rather just a few good ones, like what AT has done. And anyway, if you cloned raptor you could pick your own colours, and it has only one more inversion that LW, i think most of us could endure that extra one, we are after all, a forum of coaster fans who would ride anything.
