  1. Well, there has been a lot of debate about DW and what people think of it, so who is planning to spend 50 cents (or nothing for email) and send a letter to DWs managment to say what you think and how they could improve? Im sure if all who think that DW could improve the way they do things sent a letter, we would see some change.
  2. Well that settles it, who wants to send a letter of complaint to DW?
  3. Your right, but I thought that was pretty different, I guess thats how terrain inverts work out, terrain inverts are far better because you get some good leg choppers.
  4. It also anooys me how he says there are only so many ways you can go round on a roller coaster, you can go on wood, on steel, in a twister layout or out and back, flying, spinning, 4th dimesion, swinging, inverted, floorless, sitdown, standing up, launching, diving, backwards, leaning fowards like a motorbike, indoors, outdoors, shuttle, reverse incline, water dumping, dueling, racing, water coaster, geeze, he is ignnorant of the whole theme park industry, all of SFMMs or CPs coasters manage to be different.
  5. Yeah, Id rather just go to WA and ride powersurge at AW.
  6. To sum it up quickly, Vekoma made the flying duchman then didnt know how to get it to work. Dont see why they just didnt make the passengers load in lying down so they could get rid of the seat reclining system.
  7. Alex, i think you should send a complaint to DW about all the things that marred your day, in fact, I think everyone on this board should send what they think of DW to them, and maybe a barrage of complaints would make them pick up their game.
  8. Here is a terrain inverted coaster for NL aptly named "Hanging Out", the ride features a sidewinder, zero g roll, vertical loop, corkscrew and an upward barrel roll, Enjoy.
  9. An imellan turn is like half an overbanked turn then half a loop, but the loop doesnt turn you upside down, at its peak it is just slightly overbanked and it manages to wist around and level out at the bottom, a very cool element, especially with the spin involved. Got to the Maurer Sohne Website (http://www.maurer-soehne.de/en/) and follow the link to the Xtended spinning coaster 2000, then click on the layout description.
  10. Im not sure whether that part would have sand filling anyway, they would only do it on parts where high speeds that create noise are involved. Well anyway, the supports must do it justice, since it hasnt fallen over, you would ve suprised how strong some things can be, cylinders are pretty stong things.
  11. What about a Maurer Sohne spinning coaster, definitley a better model than the Reverchon , and it has a really good layout, Including a really awesome "Imellan Turn" And a pretty small footprint (43 x 20 m)
  12. Bus is right, a vekoma ride can do well if its in the right hands, But at Rich said, S&S would make the train.
  13. The places you were looking at dont have to support heavy loads due to high G forces, for example, at the top of the lift on Oblivion the cars would only be exerting their weight times 1 because there are only normal g forces at the top (1g) while it is slowly going around the turn. I can gauruntee that the supports deep in the tunnel would be big because they are supporting the cars weight times 4 because the cars are exterting 4g force on the track. Basically, the more force being exerted on the track, the bigger supports you will need. Maybe Rich should try explaining if my explaination wasnt good enough.
  14. Vekoma Could make it since they used the same track profile.
  15. Inveted, just find a picture of Wipeout in a few of its positons if you want to prove that the arms dont move together.
  16. Well, It is sea world so I guess thats what the park is all about, the sea. Nobody really missed the thrillseeker, it was very similar to Metropolis at LPM, Diamond Python at MMM and Tiapan at the show. But then again, I dont know how good a seal exhibit will be at getting people from interstate to come to SW when they could probably see it at a zoo in their nearest capital city. It also makes me wonder why the put on planet SOS 3D when those living in Syd or Melb could just go to Imax. SW should look to add some more rides eventually. But if SW do a good job on this it will be a good addition to the park.
  17. I saw it in the new posts thing and didn't tkae much notice of the forum it said, I thought it was talking about a left as in a left wing. Do you think any of the rides will be heading to LPS?
  18. Its been a while since I have been up there, when and why did they ditch it?
  19. I always thought they were the same height, unless you are talking about those brakes on the east side which give that "double drop" so one track has a bit less of a drop. I would imagine east would give a better view because it looks out toward the sea.
  20. Heres a clue, there is a picture of it on your avatar. With the onride footage, did you have to sign forms or something for them to let you take cameras on the ride, or do they just let you?
  21. The waterlides will probably be bought up by some piddling little park, only for the slide parts to lie on the ground, entangled with weeds and the supports to rust away, the slides never ending up being assembled. I have seen this happen when a large waterslide in my town that used to be operated by Apex was taken down from its lakeside location and moved to "Emerald Bank Herritage Farm", this all happened four years ago and the slide was never reassembled. BTW, when I first read this post, I thought it would be about the ALP wanting something more.
  22. That notice board is pretty cool, I like how it has a notice from someone whos Kingswood has gone missing. So, Is it like you are swinging on something between the creatures' four legs? They have done a really good job on the ride so I will have to convince my parents to tkae me on a holiday there. So, does anyone know how many intensity settings the ride has, and which one they will run it on?
  23. Im not, would you rather me write: "I wonder how on earth Walter Bolliger and Claude Mabillard came up with that name?"
  24. Why would they send it to Wangaratta ahead of Shepparton, we are bigger. Anyway, I went yesterday and had a bit of fun, but the prices marred it a bit. I firstly went on the crazy mouse/coaster , It was rater quite cool and its fun when you get to the second set of switchbacks where there is some good rotations, it could have been better if the rotations were there from the start, I was also suprised the ride had an on-ride photo. Next up I tried out hard rock and it was easily the best value ride of the lot and it had a short queue. You load into one of four sets of inward facing seats and sit down, unfortunatley the op pushed in my restraint so far i couldnt breathe all the way in. It was also rather funny seeing the op try to talk on the mike to us even though you couldn't hear him over the music. The floor system on the ride simply splits in two and the seats start rotating, then the fun starts with the swing, you get a good ever changing view, and its funny watching everyone else but the rotation was a bit nauseating, but bearable. I would rather the outward facing seats like on the Claw becasue you get a better view and it spins slower. It gave great airtime at the top and some strong Gs at the bottom, you got that wierd face putty feeling. Overall a great ride. Next up was mega drop, terrible value ($8) but I still did it, I got a nice view of the city at the top and you dont know when it is going to drop, suddenly you hear a hydraulic hiss and you are on your way down and braking before you know it. The freefall seemed to take longer then how it looks when you watch it. I then went on a simulator that had an underwater coaster movie, but I got a bit of a laugh when I saw that the film was the Crystal Beach Cyclone track from NL with some visual effects added. I had by then run out of time and had to catch a train into the city to see Geelong play Brisbane at the MCG.

    Can anybody help?

Thre is probably another part of the roller coaster in the way of the next track piece to be laid. And also, the only track after half loops that can be put in are half corkscrews or half barrel rolls. I assume you are attepting to add another half loop after the first one, but you cant do this because the half loops are in a straight line so another half loop would collide with the first one, you just use a normal vertical loop in these situations becasue they sort of veer across to the left or right (depending on the one you picked) like in real life so track doesnt get in the way. Only use half loops if you are making hybrid elelments like cobra rolls or sidewinders.
