  1. Hey Shaun, been laying lots of the 4:1 and 10:1? i work there too, and if the manager is being slack, it has a flow on effect and we can get a bit lazy too, but if the manager is telling you to be quick etc, everything runs better. DW does need to boost its attitude all around, starting with the supervisors etc. Maybe the best way to see change is for us here to send a steady flow of complaints, and maybe that will make them lift their game.
  2. Does anyone know about that park in Melborne named Wobbies World? we went past it in the car once and all it was was just an empty block with a run down sign, i also remember reading of it in an old kids attraction guide book, but there were no photos.
  3. Look at the supports on this lift! really keeping it to a minimum eh?http://www.rcdb.com/installationgallery605...5.htm?Picture=1
  4. Id rather use the space for an Invertigo and as people have said, Demon has had its day and its not a great ride. In regards to saftey issues with coasters above public areas, well what about Corkscrew? Or any other of the many coasters around that run above paths. If you really wanted to be safe then nets would be the go and an absolute no item policy.
  5. Generaly, the toilets would be inside the buildings (Red Stripes) or would be underground facilities like in the city (Except for baby change and disabled for obvious reasons) Really should have marked them in , They would possibly go under Fireball Frenzys station, Under Tornado's station, in the large building under Spinsanity, one in the building beside G2, in the main entrance building, underneath sewer rat and underneath man overboard. The maitnence side of things would add maybe 20m to the length of the park, but I was mainly concerntrating on the ride area so it wasnt added. As for administration, I had already considered that, and it would be on a 2nd and possibly 3rd floor above the entrance building. Staff room would also be in the admin building and a smaller one in the building beside G2. As for the set up costs, Ill have to calculate them. Could someone give me rough costs for Topspins, Breakdances, double hammers, wild mouses etc, maybe Zord could use my design as part of his campaign. If you want me to do a design using the existing WL, prehaps measure out a plan showing locations and waht I have to work with, and Im NOT re using demon.
  6. What have I done unrealistic in this? I drew it to scale and went to all the manufacturer web sites and other sources and got the proper dimensions. This park may get crowded though as its paths are around 10-15m wide but this has been countered with high capacity rides.
  7. Here is what could be built to Replace WL, The park is on a 100 x 150 m site and I have managed to fit in 21 attractions. This would go perfectly with the previously mentioned Commercial site with large stores etc. The park would have more space to expand along (maybe another 100m across and another 150m up) with the potential to install other exiting but space efficient rides, eg a Rocket Coaster or a Shoot the Chute (minus the vertical drop, too unsafe). The Rides:1) G2 (Intamin Gyro Drop) 2) Canyon Rafter (Intamin River Rapids) 3) Funny Frog (Zamperla Jumping Star) 4) Man Overboard (Interactive Rides Sky skater) 5) Fire Rescue (Zamperla Fire Brigade) 6) Battering Ram (Huss Rainbow) 7) Play zone (Megatoy Playground) 8) Goofy Greens (Mini Golf) 9)Disco Whirl (Huss Breakdance) 10) Spinsanity (Maurer Sohne Spinning Wild Mouse) 11) Vulcan (Huss Topspin) 12) Fireball Frenzy (B&M Floorless Coaster) 13) Jungle Jeeps (Car Ride) 14) Satellite Spin (Zamperla Mini Jet) 15) Tornado (Intamin Impulse Coaster) 16) The Virus (Intamin Suspended Twin Hammers) 17) Mechanical Mayhem (Zamperla Disk-O) 18) Mini Jetter (Mack powered coaster) 19) Sewer Rat (Proslide Madeira series) 20) Immersion (Intamin Simulator) 21) Traffic Jam (Zamperla Dodgems) Red Diagonal stripes are food/gift shops and Blue Diagonal Stripes are Queue areas. Red numbers are Thrill Rides, Yellow numbers are Family Rides and Green numbers are Childrens rides. Also, just to clear it up, Fireball Frenzy and mini jetter are a minimum of 6m off the ground, so the space below is usable and the supports would be enginneered to be unobtrusive, but inevitably there would be supports in the middle of paths etc. but they could be sued for lamp posts, banners, signage etc. Alsp Spinsatiny is atop a building (red strides) and traffic jam is above the Disco Whirl. The small yellow line in the bottom left corner repesents a distance of 5m. This could work as a 200 x 300m site could be found somewhere in the west without too much dificulty and cost.
  8. Personally Id rather just see a small, dense park somewhre else, and just wave goodbye to the Wonderland that exists now, we have all ridden the rides and let go and its not worth the effort to make some park with just a few rides that are many years old. Sydney would rather something new.
  9. Ah yes, of course, how could I have missed that? It kinda confused me because the letters looked slightly raised up, and waht does top in mean anyway?
  10. Maybe Ill hold out till more posters are avaliable, to cut down on shpping costs, do you have many other park posters in the pipeline?
  11. Why are the letters on Top In backwards? Was the photo taken in a mirror? Flipped in photoshop? Subliminal messages?
  12. Dont worry Rich, Im sorry, so hard to tell with just text . I wonder how much Australian Waterslides and Lesiure charge? (they supply WnW for their slides. has anyone seen the factory in Coffs Habour?) Though, The figure I got for Tobbogans was $1000 per metre, but then again a waterslide would use more steel than the shallow channel of a tobbogan.
  13. I think they should make a small park with lots of rides packed in, using the space efficiently, for example, it would be laid out in a style like a subdivision, and all the rides would be directly side by side, like house blocks side by side. A rollercoaster with an out and back design would be built above the footpaths, imagine how cool it would be having a coaster zooming around over your heads, even better if it were an inverter. I dont know if it would be themed, maybe it would be better as a nicley kept park with lots of bright colours etc. A space Hafema saving rapids ride with a fairly rectangular layout would be slotted in, but to stop it being boring there would be lots of water slopping around, rapids etc. IIwouldnt like to see another boomeranf, I think we can move on from that, and Id rather see an SLC boomerang (Face/off) Space could be saved other ways by putting rides above other rides, eg a flat ride above a dogems ride. Parking would be built underneath the park (like at Telstra Dome in Melbourne). There would be other fun attractions above the footpaths, eg Pedal Monorail, a kiddie coaster etc. I think a park like this could work as long as you filter out the unneccary stuff and use good, but small attractions, having everything so close would give the park a great atmosphere, If i get time ill draw up a possible plan.
  14. Sweet, an IOA poster, gotta get my dad to buy me one on my behalf, hope to see more posters in that style. BTW, waht are the shipping fees and is the 2-3 days of delivery in the US, or is that worldwide?
  15. Nah, I meant how the paint was chipped off on the hand rails where you exit the boat.
  16. Hmmm, DW usually do have good PR, they acted on my e-mail about the poor condition of the log ride hand rails I spied on the TV ad. Did they end up getting re-painted?
  17. Richard, were you taking the mickey out of me? A 100m long weigand slide can be bought for that price, not sure if their slides are more expensive or cheaper than fibreglass, but a slide is a slide. If im barking up the wrong tree then sorry in advance.
  18. Waterslides are cheap as chips anyway, one cost around $1,500,00 so they could easily add 5 or so for under $1,000,000
  19. Well, you learn a new thing every day , maybe B&M should take a leaf out of Intamins' book and try that, their rails wear down really bad. In todays Herald Sun was a shark bay article, but yours is so much better.
  20. But what about the posters? Are the 2 taht are avaliable the only 2 Avaliable? I really do need some posters for my room, but if I had one of "Sleeping Beautys Castle" my friends would think Im a pansy or something. The cyclone one is cool, but I'd really like to see A dueling dragons poster, that ride is so cool. Ill probably buy some when more become avaliable to put up in my room.
  21. But the pics were nice, did you notice on the main photo there was a bit of rope tied around the track? the rails were worn so obvioulsy the ride was not still under construction. Hope it got removed before the ride started again. Also, notice that the descrtiption of Daemon says nothing about it being floorless.
  22. Nope, The Herald Sun is Melbournes main paper, Anyway, here is the article, sorry about the dots, its inevitable on printed stuff and the lines, because i had to fold it outwards in a wierd way so it would fit in a scanner, then piece it together onthe computer.
  23. What posters are available? ones I would really want to see are a Dueling Dragons poster ,a Riddlers Revenge poster or a Kraken poster
  24. Hey Joz, in regards to Air,(lucky bugger, I wanna go to AT) how do the restraints work? I have heard of a restrain vest, is it made of fabric and zipped shut? also, how does that Y junction at the station work, I still can figure it out.
