Cedar Point Guest Size Ride Policy
Gold Coaster replied to Gold Coaster's topic in Theme Park Discussion
^ It's from the Cedar Point website. -
Cedar Point Policy: I'm around 6'5"-6"6 with a 34" waistline - do you all think I'm going to have difficulty getting on Cedar Point rides? This makes me think so as while I'm not fat I'm technically a guest of 'exceptional size' due to my height. But it's confusing because they only say 'may apply''. What have your experiences been?

Grr. I'm having flashbacks to Maths Class. Thank you VERY much. -
Fired off an email to Guest Relations and got this reply: Thanks for your enquiry about the Eurika Mine Ride. Apparently it is needing a major overhaul and will be closed indefinately at this stage . Regards Reception Dreamworld www.dreamworld.com.au So, damn.

Do both, trust me, they're awesome. The Bro isn't that claustrophobic and you're not in the tentacles for long anyway.

You do get a lot of water in your face, especially around the tunnels; best to keep your mouth closed
-
Will be there on Thursday, I'll let you know. The website still lists it as under maintainance.
-
Mmm, yes. You shouldn't automatically assume it's going to SW. *taps nose*

Good to hear, I'll probably head there tomorrow for a little while to do Batwing again and get some rides in on Superman Escape/Scooby/WWF while there.

Why did the Blacklot at Fox Studios Close Down

I am so pissed off that I didn't get to do the 'die' situation (due to that limitation). -
You're not allowed to take pictures, unfortunately. I have ones of the outside stuff though.
-
I would imagine that to be the case since I only saw the one tent and the entrance only mentioned the Fashion House
-
To a certain extent you're right. I could have probably got a couple in but my friends were drinking a fair bit and I just wanted to chill with them and enjoy the music. The point of a night like that isn't to get a bunch of rides in anyway - particularly if you're drinking

Needed more Germans. Nah it was good. Absolutely packed. Made Screamworld look like Wiggles World in terms of crowds. Ride queue times were horrible of course but the atmosphere was fantastic.

That happened a few weekends ago. I was getting in all the Gold Coast theme parks with Miro - ParkFanGermany - who I worked with at Wet'n'Wild - and his friend Jakob before they left for Germany. On Saturday, we hit Whitewater World in the morning then DW in the afternoon and the Cyclone queue was non-existant. So we went on, mainly to experience it going near the water park... and regretted it when it started to rain on the lifthill. 'Ok, maybe it's not going to be so bad,' I thought. How wrong I was. Talk about painful! We had our eyes squinted against the onslaught for the whole ride and barely saw anything of WWW. Oh well

You'll love it. The park's much better now. As much as I loved the Maverick/Movie Magic Shows, MW is a much more rounded experience. and having Shrek 4D gives us a bit of replicated Universal magic here in Australia

^ Oh sure. I realise the context they use the word 'experience'. But I would love them to use the word in THIS context. This ride would be a really unique thing for the Gold Coast, Australia and even in a world sense. If it was a decision between this and a new family coaster, I'd go for this any day. That's saying a lot when you consider my love for rollercoasters.
-
How about this ride... looks insane. Just imagine it. Well, we know Dreamworld are into providing 'experiences' these days... so why not an experience that is also a ride and blatantly fun. ^ You don't. Don't forget the RCT3 expansion pack 'Wild!' It's very good too. It's not just about animals. There are some nice flat rides and coasters for one thing. You should be able to pick it up now for about $30, $40 tops.

This Tuesday January 9, on Discovery Travel & Living (D 646 for Foxtel subscribers): 10.30PM Inside Walt Disney Studios, Paris (with a replay 4 hours later) Queensland viewers should subtract 1 hour from the time, South Australia 30 minutes and WA 2 hours. DT&L's theme park specials are quite good so this should be worth checking out

I think if they went with a ride like that, people would be happy to wait 4-5 years for the next addition somehow.

Australian first or world first?
Gold Coaster replied to sonic123488's topic in Theme Park Discussion
World-firsts so long as they work But some 'clone' rides I would like to see - * A family horror attraction - something in the vein of the Haunted Mansion but maybe an alternate scenario to that of a house, perhaps with Aussie theme - haunted abandoned Outback town, haunted gold mine etc. Okay, we have Scooby but that's very American. I would also want to see more dark ride elements and ones that are done in a high-tech way. * A Rock'n'Rollercoaster style indoor coaster. A) Could be themed to INXS or something like that. If they wanted to totally cash in with something contemporary, Australian Idol -> - Media getting to the Grand Final in time ,or: - Something like two of the people in each train are selected to be the Final 2. Some of the rockier songs from previous Idols being played throughout the ride & you could be sent through the streets of Sydney. Ride could end with the winner being announced and lighting effects/applause/etc. If it's a family coaster, then the winner could always be a kid - like at Disneyland where the person who pulls the sword from the stone is always a kid. I would prefer A) though as they're such a big band in Aussie music history and is a pretty cheesy idea (but could be ok if they executed it well). * A ride in the vein of the Disney Tower of Terror. A random elevator drop ride would be awesome.
