  1. Hi everyone, just thought I'd officially update happenings here at Jamberoo Action Park, NSW's favourite water theme park. As known we've completed Stage 1 of the 4 stage master-plan known as Kangaroo Island. This staged development will, once fully realised, incorporate 7/8 world class rides and attractions with a capacity to accommodate between 4500-5000 persons an hour. When fully completed the Kangaroo Island section of the park will have cost us around $60M, with stage 1 costing us $15M in 2012. We are still very committed to realising the entire project in the coming years and look forward to offering the NSW water theme park going public with some of the best world class rides available at that time. So to wet any appetite we are announcing here, for the first time, some really exciting news... Stage 2 of the Master-plan, incorporating 2 new world class rides and attractions, is well progressed in both design and development AND because new ride technologies available we will be NOT be incorporating a Behemoth Bowl BUT will be building a whole new ride to rival FUNNEL WEB, that will be more exhilarating ride experience, as well slightly longer in ride time... I cant say much more at this time however, I've seen the new "Top Secret" ride design and believe me it is going to be amazing! There is no firm date on commencement of construction of stage 2 at this time. Cheers for now, Sammy

  2. At this point I think they'd find more success in charging $10 a pop to use an Oculus Rift headset running Forza with an Xbox Controller then running V8 Redline.

  3. What is the factual basis for any of your comments? What is this "more and more injuries" nonsense? Even it you've heard of more, that's more a reflection of the internet and media today and any exponential trend. And if I were six flags Id be insulted as to you implying their maintenance was sub par compared to Disneyland. You've got no idea what maintenance regimes they have. Would you say the same about Dreamworld? To put Disney up as a poster for maintenance is laughable. Their lack of maintenance standards have killed people! Regardless of who was in charge of the company, that's irrelevant here.

  5. Foundations are starting to be laid. I'm guessing that this part will feature the kids coaster (photo source: theme park social network)

  6. I'll tell you what, this afternoon was a great one to visit Movieworld. Miserable cold rainy weather all day, but we decided to take the kids after school anyway, figured what the hell, there's indoor rides lol. The park was dead, car park was fairly empty! The parade was on when we arrived, so we went straight to Scooby Doo. Quite literally walked right onto it (they were sending empty trains around!) and chuffed at our luck lol. The ride attendant said that it had been like that on and off all day - they only had 1500 through the gates today. Also walked straight onto Justice League. Hubby rode Superman Escape 3 times in a row. Kids also walked onto a lot of the kiddy rides. Not bad for only an hour and a half of park time lol. Winning! Comes to show that if you are happy to withstand a bit of bad weather on an off peak, winter weekday afternoon, you will be rewarded with what almost feels like having a theme park all to yourself ???

  7. You got to have faith. I think all parks should be on here - it's a win-win situation. Most of the medium sized parks are eager to get the good word out.

  8. FWIW, I took my girls (3.5 and 6.5) a couple of weeks ago, and we got in a full day pretty much avoiding rides (long weekend = hideous queueing). We saw all the shows, a few of the animal feedings, and they spent an age climbing in the Castaway Bay fort area. Older daughter is tall enough for Storm Coaster, but it was not running for a while. Both tall enough for Flume Ride, but with Storm down, the line too long. It's a bit of a hard age for rides - my older daughter is a bit over the MW kids area (with the exception of Road Runner coaster), marginally to short for BatWing, or anything above it so just has Scooby and Wild West Falls. I found Dreamworld the best pick for rides for that age - she could get on MDMC, most of the Dreamworks offerings, rapids, log ride, etc. She hit 120cm about a month after our annual passes expired, so that opens a few more options too.

  10. I understand the comments about getting larger and losing control of the detail etc., but coming from Merlin where our teams there were far bigger than MW/DW I'm certain we have the resources, passion and skills to continue to expand without losing focus and whole team commitment. I'm also 100% committed to AW for the long term.
