  1. took our first visit of the season to WnW today. the place is a mess. AquaLoop closed, looks like some form of groundwork taking place at the base of the tower, Mammoth closed Calypso Bay closed (sign says due to it being a seasonal attraction... funny, if a 30 degree day isn’t the correct season to operate, what is?) SurfRider closed - the upper sections of track on both sides are removed and not onsite that I could see. Sensors/cables just hanging down on the remaining track. Blackhole closed - surrounded by scaffolding on all sides, and sheeting covering the entire side facing Tornado. toilet block in H2O zone closed, obviously Calypso toilets closed too. pizza shack closed Photo kiosk closed so you have to go in the exit shop dripping wet to see/get your photos All slides in desperate need to repaints. Having been at WWW last weekend, WnW feels and looks like a second rate regional water park

  4. There are these detections of the virus in waste water around Queensland, that are concerning though.

  6. From November 7 until December 19 on Saturday nights, Dive n Movies are back again. They’ve only announced the movies for November so far https://wetnwild.com.au/attractions/dive-n-movies

  7. The rides removal has not come as a shock. Power Surge temporarily replacing it tho. That's a shock. Joyland's (Carnival ride company) are also trying to make a buck. So I understand why they have leased out another ride to LPS. Given they don't have many carnival rides and this one can easily be set up within the confines of the park means it would going to be picked. As for what goes in moving forward. Who knows. One other ride is currently hidden behind a fence. I've said it before and ill say it again. Troika's days are numbered. It is old and even tho a fan favourite is really annoying to load and unload given its usually only got a ride op and during peak times gets one attendant. I do wonder tho is the HUSS breakdance will survive much longer. This ride as a modification many years ago to allow guest under 130cm to chance to ride while being accompanied by an adult. But looking at the future. Yes, they need to spend money to make money. But with COVID its ruined many things, Those function centres won't be getting used for some time I imagine. So it might be a while before we see anything special come into the park. SO the Joyland's rotating ride roster is the best deal we are going to get for some time. I just see a bad side to this all. So many old rides being retired and not enough replacements. We can only hope ideas are already in motion for new attractions. It is not good for the park. But thankfully Sydney siders are semi-used to this. Unlike QLD people who do get a large number of parks to choose from.

  9. So I decided to make a little rough concept art for an expansion and remodel of WNW. With Mach 5 gone and the unsure outcome with Black hole. I thought if they decided to gut the entire H2O zone and start from scratch this would be a cool idea. This is a rough concept so excuse the quality. This plan has the follow: New food outlets around the area along with lockers, toilets etc... Water slide Wheel (White Water West) A Mammoth style water coaster (ProSlide) Rain-fortress and Splash pad area (White Water West) Tower 1: (Proslide) Tornado 60 enclosed Tornado Wall 60 Tantrum Alley Tower 2: (Proslide) Bowl Alley Family raft slide UFO Raft slide Tower 3: (Polin) 2 Family single raft slides Corba Waterslide I feel like this plan gives the park some good solid waterslides for thrill seekers and family. Along with some gimmicky stuff and world class stuff. I doubt we would ever see investment off this size at WNW. But we can dream. (Also the Poling slide complex comes from the original concept art from Outback Splash)

  11. Fun fact. Velikolukskiy Myasokombinat means Meat Processing Plant in English. There's also a second coaster with this sponsor in the park Velikolukskiy Myasokombinat-2.

  16. The coaster will definitely will a gap the park has had for a very long time, but I agree and think another thrill ride and another family attraction will complete their current line up. With the ABC refurb next year too, that will take their good line up of kids attractions even further. But new rides cost money and I would expect it to be another couple years before another major investment. Another new tower of slides and/or lazy river for WWW will complete that park

  17. I am also pretty impressed with how this seating area has turned out. I had very low expectations for that area, but it’s pretty decent for what it is. @Gold Coast Amusement Force were the videos on SV an improvement, informative and rewatchable?

  18. It’s great to see they are finally modifying the queues of their most popular attractions to make way for bigger crowds, but it’s a shame they’ve removed the theming. They may still install it somewhere else in there, but I’m doubtful. A shame when the attraction had some decent theming to it
