  1. I know its a fundraiser, but they'd better be bloody good snags at $5 a pop.

  2. I'd love to help but I don't really understand the question. The parks are all much bigger, and going back to your hotel at WDW is similar to traveling from Sea World to the southern end of Surfers or Broadbeach on average (haven't stayed at POP but apparently it's in a pretty good location though so you might be a bit easier than where I stayed on property, one of the All Star Resorts. Open late though so potentially worth the effort if you've got kids with you. Per park is tricky, but for my tastes I'd say 6 days overall with the option to park hop, though again haven't done that since they brought in Magic Bands. Disneyland most hotels on Harbour Blvd are within a 20min walk of the park, I'd plan a stay of 4 days for the 2 parks. You'll still miss stuff but you hopefully shouldn't feel too 'rushed' and you should be able to more than easily do the things you wanna go on, and lots of re-rides on the kids favs.

  3. If it's a fundraiser, why are they still doing it at "theme park food prices" ?

  4. What is it? 8 years since the kumback upgrade? You could hardly say it killed the ride after the conversion given the time span. I guess what do you define as a serious crack? One that occurs largely due to fatigue and is anticipated; Or one that shouldnt occur, but has, and everyone freaks out about it? One probably happens frequently enough its dealt with and repaired to a standard or procedure, the other probably grounds a ride until the manufacturer can work out wtf happened and put a fix in place. You wouldnt need vekoma to come in for pretty much anything other than control systems I imagine. A motor is a motor. Theres plenty of people that specialise in that locally. Changing the control systems though I imagine is akin to having kumback replace the lower section of the train. Someone doing it is going to have to take on all the risk, so you probably cant just google someone local for an upgrade.

  6. Can't help but notice Storm's downtime has been taken off the maintenance page. Wonder if that's due to Sky Flyer closing, Jet Rescue's current closure maybe blowing right the hell out, Vortex running late or straight up being called Morons on this forum? Good to see they aren't going to redeploy Star Flyer to a new concrete slab next to JR in the interim to keep the pitiful attraction count up. They never said they were going to, and that was never a rumour, but good to know no extra effort is being put in. The Monorail being closed is embarrassing enough. If Green Lantern can stay open nearly the whole time Rivals was going up, there really isn't much excuse to close what is the park's last genuine ride for the whole family. Wow sorry apparently I just really needed to unload

  7. With the rail pass, its good if you want to do a lot of adhoc slightly inefficient travel....random daytrips and the like. But for me, i only had to do one long and one short Shinkansen trip, plus a lot of travel on private railways (Eg to Parque Espana) so the economics weren't there. My itinerary was more of a loop i guess. Also, the rail pass doesnt let you use the fastest class Nozomi Shinkansens....And for me, doing the Osaka Tokyo run at full speed was a big thing I wanted to do.

  8. I'm judgmental, but i'd like to think i'm a little more balanced. I have never desired to ride a kids ride as an adult until I had a kid to go on with, and its cool to be able to check out things like driving school and spongebob coaster while riding with him. I probably wouldn't choose to ride it myself without him, but power to others if they choose to. I'll sit back and judge them silently.

  9. I don't know what is more sad. A grown adult judging other adults for having fun in their own way, or that you really struggle to be anything but negative about other people's opinions.
