  1. What is going on with this piece of track? They should have also said the pinkest roller coaster.
  2. @Glubbo & @themagician Can you tell us what time you both took your photos?
  3. We are overdue for a poll and I wish you added one to this topic. (sarcasm intended comment as a joke) As for your question, would it be a good idea? I think it’s a terrible idea. You are breaking my unique rule and all you are doing is copying MW. If you want a new parade my suggestion is for it to be at SW. If the Spit casino ever gets off the ground, I would like to see SW try and capitalise on it. SW opening the front of the park up at night, all the way to the kids ride area. SW to run a nightly Fire & Water parade on the lake where families can gather, have dinner and ride a few rides.
  4. How I see it- This is 100% a cash grab by Ardent Leisure to prop up the books. The most useful information I got from the ASX update was this. “engage with third party developers to discuss potential development opportunities” Ardent Leisure aren’t in the business of hotels. How does DW compete with Village new hotel when Ardent do not build hotels? They sell the land and get somebody else to do it. How does Ardent Leisure compete with MW night-time precinct? They sell the land and get somebody else to do it. Even if Ardent have the vision of a CityWalk what another party is willing to do and Ardent want could be 2 completely different things. A lot of members of Parkz would remember Dreamworlds failed attempts to establish at night time scene with AVPX laser tag, V8 simulators, Flowrider & Dreamworld Cinema. DW failed Skeet’s number one rule. Make it unique. DW believes that I’m willing to drive past 5 other laser tags places on my way to DW, just because this laser tag is at DW. This is what Village continues to do so much better than DW. Bringing unique experiences that you can’t do anywhere else in Australia. In other news, the wolves have started to position themselves to strike. “The company is preparing to face down a push for board representation from two activist investors who have snapped up almost 8 per cent of the company. Ardent has confirmed that Ariadne Australia directors Dr Gary Weiss and Mr Kevin Seymour requested board seats early this month, but a formal meeting has yet to take place. The company has attempted to pre-empt the push with a management shake-up that last month saw the appointment of a new chief executive, Simon Kelly, the sidelining of previous boss Deborah Thomas and a strategic review of the business by external consultants.”
  5. I think you can buy a cream to get rid of that.
  6. What is the distance from the Melbourne airport @Mark Shaw?
  7. Every news site is now clamming DW is going to be the new Disneyland so Deborah Thomas better deliver.
  8. @Gazza I have just attached some of the future transport plans from the Master Coomera plan. You can read them so I'm not going to note them up. Future new road to run behind DW from Beattie Road to Foxwell Rd. I read it as the current service road in front of DW will become a secondary road (mainly to access DW). The main traffic flow will be diverted from the front of DW to the back of DW. Eventually the buses will take this route that run behind DW. The buses also have a local route planned which connects to the side gate. The issue I have with this is it’s all designed on the assumption that DW will build a side gate.
  9. That headline is after you click on click-bait headline. It's 2 for the price of 1.
  10. @pushbutton You will be sad to know Lot 102 & Lot 16 (Lot 102 which was DW land) is part of the new Coomera Town Plan now and I haven't been over it with a fine tooth comb but I believe these two lot "Precinct" has a height limit of what is proposed to be built next to WWW. @GazzaThank you for the information. I'm not convinced the idea to recreate a Robina at Coomera will work. When I picture it I get flashes of a high rise ghetto.
  11. @Gazza I was being rational. Translink have said about the lightrail. "With frequent services soon to be running along the Gold Coast Light Rail Stage 2 extension to Helensvale, we won't need to run buses along the same corridor". (you will have to get off the lightrail and onto a bus at Helensvale) That whole post I was talking about side gate giving direct access to the train station. Of course I don't think the buses will be replaced by a train without direct access to DW from the station.
  12. I don’t know anything about the routes public transport take to any of the parks so is this going to be better or worse option if I was going to a park via pubic transport @Gazza?
  13. @pushbutton Don't forget the hotel/residential project 100m south of DW/WWW might get the green light soon.
  14. I would call it a side gate entry. Original plans for the major new entry was for when DW was going to build the Town Centre many moons ago. Now DW has nothing to do with the Town Centre I don’t think the new owners would be too happy DW guest taking up their customer’s car parks. If the side gate does happen it will be for the train station. Once the light rail is finished linking Surfers to Helensvale and because Helensvale is already linked to Coomera via heavy rail you might find Surfside bus will stop servicing DW all together.
  15. Areas marked DW is also owned by DW. When DW sold Area 51 the original contract of sale included Area 52. Once DW tried to separate the land from the current Title the Queensland Government requested DW hand the land either side of the creek over to them. DW ended up only selling Area 51 to the developer taking the creek out of the transaction. (Area 52 marked in yellow) The area the Government wanted to resume is roughly marked in green. If DW was to try and add this land to a separate Title again, I can’t see why the Government wouldn’t ask for the land again. (That’s one of the things I would assume the Town Planner would be considering). Where I have written, GUM is the area DW currently grow the Gum Trees to feed the koalas.
  16. If that is the case then I wonder why DW have been advertising for a project manager. In March I came across this one " Based on site at Dreamworld, we have a rare opportunity to join the ... Preparation of tender/ contract documentation " Only a few weeks ago I came across this one.
  17. . In early 2017 Ardent initiated a process to review its 2015 Master Plan for the Dreamworld precinct. Dreamworld is located on prime real estate adjacent to the new Coomera town centre and core infrastructure. This review is considering a number of important factors including: (i) the impact of recent events at Dreamworld; (ii) the feasibility of rezoning parts of the site for alternate uses; and (iii) analysis of the existing Dreamworld footprint to identify potential opportunities for unlocking value. As part of this review Ardent has appointed a town planner to assess the feasibility of rezoning parts of the precinct. Ardent has, and will continue to, engage with third party developers to discuss potential development opportunities and timing for any redevelopment within the precinct. Notwithstanding the review of the Master Plan, Ardent will continue to invest in Dreamworld to facilitate its recovery and ensure it remains one of the Gold Coast’s key tourist attractions. (Taken from Ardent ASX release) Does "Notwithstanding" mean if Ardent will make more money from developing the land and closing DW they will go that way? We also know DW were looking at a 3rd party developer to build a hotel before the events of last year. Maybe DW are looking at going down that path again.
  18. A off the cuff comment to Push that ended up going around in circles had to be stopped.
  19. Thanks. I just did the quickest flick in history and came across a few reasons why the contract can stop without even getting into it. Universal (unlikely) but possible might not even take the next option to extend the contract. So, we don’t go around in circles. I already know what’s going on with SDSC and it’s not Harry Potter. I’m just trying to make a point, nothing is plain and simple. 3 years ago, I would have laughed at you if you told me MW would build a hyper. If MW can buy a hyper then a RMC ride also would have to be possible in an Australian park.
