  1. And now I have a strange urge for some Dippin Dots! Seriously... they are awesome!
  2. It's apparently in storage and reopening... like the rest of Downunderland But I *CAN* Verify that it was there at one point as I did see it myself.
  3. According to a post on Australian Amusement Fanatics a few years ago, the old Dreamworld enterprise was a Ferrari unit that ended up finding it's way to Downunderland where is is now probably either rusted away or in storage. Posts by Funderstruck
  4. http://youtu.be/-WiO5j89hwU WARNING: STRONG CONTENT / SOME COURSE LANGUAGE . Not recommended for anyone under 13. You mean someone like this?
  5. For a start, Taz's Hollywood Car's are not battery operated... your most likely confusing them with Speedy Gonzale's Tijuana Taxi's. Taz's Hollywood Cars use the same floor pick up system as the larger dodgem car's in Intencity. The only difference is the big dodgems are built by Preston and Barberi, and the Taz Cars are by Zamperla. I will agree however about Taz Cars being quite worn down and in need of a rehab.
  6. I personally find the Green Lantern Oath much more annoying... "GREEN LANTERN'S LIGHT!" *Shudders*
  7. I have ridden Sea Viper several times, and I find them anything but comfortable. Several people that I know who have been on it have said the exact same thing.
  8. The onboard audio was out of action from around 11:30am... technical difficulties apparently. One thing that I thought was REALLY poor of them today was around 3:30pm they announced that the ride was going to close to add an extra train to "increase capacity" so it went from 4 trains to 5... this whole process took around 40 minutes and the coaster didn't open till around 4:15pm... IMO it would have been better to not bother adding the 5th carriage so late in the day and just keep loading the ride... turned a 40 minute queue into nearly 90 minutes...I will say though, the staff on the ride really did do the best they could to keep moving the queue through today... but the loading procedure really does seem very complex and frustrating. Unloading 2 carriages first while 1 is behind it waiting to come into the station... then loading the 2 and moving them both forward while one starts the ride and the other waits for the train ahead to clear the block before moving forward again (much like scooby doo.) This system works well for rides like scooby as the cars are moving very often whereas with Green Lantern there is almost always 4 trains in the station whilst one maybe 2 are on the circuit...
  9. Yeah... but they are uncomfortable as hell if you ask me (Kumbak) I just find it still ironic that Efteling removed the Kumbak ones...
  10. I am quite concerned about the Kumbak trains to be honest... especially considering that Python at Efteling got the same trains as Sea Viper did and just over 5 years later removed them for the new Vekoma trains based on comfort... Not to mention how uncomfortable Sea Viper has become with the new trains... I've heard nothing but praise from the new Vekoma trains (inverted and standard) and I really do wish that Movie World had gone with their trains instead of the Kumbak ones...
  11. Really? I didn't know that... that really does come as a surprise to me, I honestly thought it would have been someone like the Sanderson group who did Bermuda.
  12. Today was very quiet as well today... guess quite a few people were too hung over to come to the park lol.
  13. Today was nice and quiet today compared to the rest of the days which is good. Amazing what a bit of rain in the morning can do for crowds
  14. 10,000+ guests on any given day in the last week. 1.5 hour waits for superman with 2 trains, 2 hour wait for scooby, hour for lethal and even 30+ minutes for the tweety cages in WBK. Advice, avoid the park until the end of January... also parking is a pain as well
  15. Expect it to probably be packed... 10,000+ guests within the park honestly... Today due to the rain earlier in the morning was a bit quieter than usual with only 8000 or so guests
  16. Theme park rides that I have been on that broke: Tower of Terror (Original): Drive Trip and E-Brake Cyclone: Lift Stop Claw: Various ride stops Wipeout: E-Stop mid ride BuzzSaw: Stuck on lift for 5 minutes Lethal Weapon: Lift stop (motor ended up frying) Scooby Doo: Ride stop (Evac from High Zone and Lift) Wild West Falls: E-Stop 2nd lift Superman Escape: Stopped mid course and rollback. Looney Tunes River Ride: Evac'ed mid ride Corkscrew: Stopped mid lift due to lightning storm and Evacuated Bermuda Triangle: Stopped both lifts and evacuated, stopped on first turntable (evac) and stopped mid flood dump scene (evac) all in the one day... Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters (HKDL) Ride stalled for several minutes which allowed us to get real high points before restarting. Pirates Revenge (Sunway Lagoon): Harness would not release, was sent around again. Carnival Rides that have broken down whilst riding: Space Roller: Main ride boom wouldn't lower, so got sent around again SkyWalker: Harness failed to unlock Cyber Party: Gondola's didn't rise and power failure Hurricane: Ride just kept spinning but refused to bounce Flash Dance: Ride just spun but didn't oscilate WaveSwinger: Ride lifted but didn't spin Thunderbolt: Power Failure
  17. The cars really do slam to a stop on the final break run. The ride however is very fun and soild, but Superman Escape is still my favorite coaster (behind Supersonic Odyssey and Space Mountain at HKDL) It would be my 5th favorite ride behind those 3 and Scooby Doo. The theming in the queue isn't anything extravagant but it's very presentable however and I think it will be a hit with the park for years to come.
  18. A Eurofighter or something smallish like that would suit the park really well... I'd love to see something like Mystery mine
  19. Depending on what the breakdown is will determine if you would be able to stay in the car while it's fixed or be removed from the ride. Considering it's in testing stages (Soft opening) still they probably wouldn't know how long it would take to be operational again so they would have probably evacuated the ride. Sadly that's one of the things with a soft opening, they can open AND close at any time and even if you are in the queue you might not actually be able to ride.
  20. Also, you are able to upgrade the "Locals Summer Pass" at the gate for 20 dollars for entry up until the 30th of June. They probably offered the 10 dollar White Christmas tickets for VIP pass holders so they could get the numbers because they might have been lacking (50 dollars at the gate is a bit much honestly... considering fright nights was only 40) But when they did this they got more demand than anticipated.
  21. Cars are not on track at this stage, it's mostly groundwork going on right now and what appears to be final checks on the tracks with staff in cranes inspecting the joints mostly. Hopefully testing will begin soon though
  22. Well... could you imagine the operators on the Wipeout trying to walk down past every seat to make sure they are locked in... would be a bit awkward to say the least
  23. Also, today Green Lantern's trains were delivered and covered in wrap. I can however confirm from getting a glimpse that they are 4 abreast with the lap bars shown in the pictures. Hopefully testing should start in the next week or 2.
  24. As of 6pm today the last barrel roll was completed on Green Lantern
