  1. Yes, @Slick runs the OurWorlds site, and I must say does a great job with the filming work he does. Given the rules surrounding loose items, and potential injury to guests on a ride that does cross guest pedestrian areas in WWW, most parks only allow filming by special arrangement or during media calls whilst the park is closed, or at least all areas near the ride envelope to prevent injury. I'm going to go against the grain on this one now that i've heard the song (mostly) in context (Oh and @Slick - I actually thought the POV was great!) - I think the song is quite a good fit for the ride experience. I'll agree, it's suitability to the theme of hot wheels is a little vague (read: non-existent) but the intro works well with the pre-lift and lift area, it revs up at the right time at the top of the hill, and it's then a fast paced track that really suits the ride. Has the intro been extended to accommodate the lift hill? It's hard to tell as the (boring) hill was cut (appropriately) in the video, or was it legit the radio edit of the song? (If it was Slick - i'd have gotten the track and laid it over the top of the live audio so it was really clear) Was 'choose your own song' always planned to be a part of the ride? Are there buttons or such in place to activate this in the future? Or would it require a retrofit later to incorporate the choices? If it's easy enough, I could see Dreamworld changing the song for special events - something spooky \ scary \ hardcore or suitably suspenseful enough for a night time event like screamworld... or even a Christmas rock song (such as trans siberian orchestra) during christmas time. There is so much they could do with a generic themed music add-on that wouldn't hurt the hot-wheels brand that they could do various 'overlays' all year. TL:DR - I don't think Freestyler is that bad a choice TBH.
  2. scale of what? discomfort? pain? enjoyment? thrill? length? Might need to be more specific...
  3. Firstly - welcome to the forums. I'd like to say nobody is going to shoot you, but at some stage they'll probably try. If I can make a suggestion though - planned maintenance can usually be found on the park's website (in this case here ) Generally, it's a good idea to check the park website as it should usually be found to be the single source of truth. There is also a 'maintenance' thread where the park's annual maintenance schedule has been posted. As the guys have already mentioned though - Batwing Spaceshot Closed for scheduled maintenance from Saturday the 22nd of February 2016 until Monday the 28th of March 2016.
  4. Given I proposed to my wife on Cyclone, and we celebrated our marriage on Sea Viper - perhaps we need someone to propose \ get married on MDMC?
  5. Well, the good news is if\when brock goes, DW has a nice shed for an immersive dark ride.
  6. Well, we wouldn't want @OceanGirl to be overloaded now, would we? ok. thats enough from me. Promise.
  7. No worries @OceanGirl it's not a problem whatsoever to ensure you're notified whenever we discuss @OceanGirl's kids. We're also very glad to hear @OceanGirl and @OceanGirl's kids are getting a good chuckle out of the joke about @OceanGirl
  8. Guys, if we're going to keep this up, we should be tagging @OceanGirl so she gets notified about it...
  9. What about a space shuttle that makes round trips to the moon twice a day?
  10. I'd suggest that the headband \ screen \ whatever would either have hardwiring, or a safety cable attached that would prevent it becoming an issue should it be dislodged... which would mean it wasn't 'loose'... but yes the loose item policy here is atrocious, and given most loose items WON'T fall off because of inertial or centrifugal forces in most cases, it's overkill.
  11. Please don't use a potato. Please don't heavily edit or use filters to try and 'improve' them. Definitely leave the saturation alone Don't take shots on diagonals to be 'artsy' - unless you are actually an artist. Good photos of overall areas are great. If you see something interesting, and you take a photo close up, don't forget to take a wider shot so we can see what it is in context. End of the day, if you're taking photos of things to show people what has changed at the park since the last time someone took a photo of it, then it doesn't really matter what the quality is like, so long as we can see it, but if you're going to present it as quality, make sure it is. I look forward to seeing what you come up with.
  12. This will revamp revolution and revive its ridership, much like twisting did to colossus. I have a lot of criticism for SFMM over a lot of what they do, but reviving two of their oldest and most classic coasters for a new generation, rather than knocking them down and building something off the shelf is impressive.
  13. ^ @joz - thats a POLE not a POLL. I'd like to contribute with many poles. this should make @skeetafly happy.
  14. I do not want a lazy river to be shaded. Maybe a spot or two, but nothing approaching even 25% of the path should be shaded. People go to water attractions when it's hot. they should be wearing sunscreen. Shade too much of the river, and it keeps the water cold. It also means less people will use it when the weather is cooler as the sun isn't there to counteract the temperature. I also wouldn't suggest a swim up bar in a lazy river. too many chances for accidental spillage, contaminating the entire river. Leave your swim up bar to the hotel pool. Alcohol and water shouldn't mix anyway.
  15. Yeah - I guess wrap was the wrong word - I meant like printed board, that would stand in front of the demountable kind of like you see at box office or convention kiosks at temporary events - like this: I did think that might be the case, but also thought perhaps the Cubs wouldn't spend 100% in the outdoor habitat either... so wasn't sure if the demountable is staying around longer - they have built it into the Kevil facade (green board placed between shop and back of demountable) so i figured it'd be staying around as long as the cub kindy is - given that otherwise, they'd have to re-do the entire Kevil facade...
  16. Mark I think you and the team do a fantastic job of addressing the little things as they come up - many of them before people have a chance to have a whinge. The few things that do get that far, don't last long (Abyss weeds as an example, and the pathway to Kraken as another). I think it's awesome that you'd ask for our opinions on this, but in reality, I think we're all very well aware of how approachable you are, and we'd let you know if we felt there was something you should be doing, but aren't. I've got nothing. Keep up the good work.
  17. Considering how many members are on Parkz, if every single one of them donated $1500, we could form a consortium to buy a ride for you. Of course, we'd need naming rights, and free entry for life, and we'd need you to move the park to the gold coast where the majority of our members are so we could go anytime we wanted without arduous plane journeys... And then we'd all have to agree on what type of ride... I never realised you could get a dark monorail walkthrough B&M Standup Hyper Dive woodie flume waterslide for $10m though...
  18. BAHAHAHAHA. I missed it too. Shows you how much most people take notice of it!
  19. Wait for it.... Done. I absolutely agree. this will help me forget all about those horrible quickshades. I'm very glad they've gone to the effort of disguising Kevil. My next question is - is the demountable remaining for the duration? If so, then they really need to do as you suggest and put some posters up. Not sure how good an idea it is for the breaker box to be accessible to guests either. I kinda feel really bad for picking on them about it, since they've done such a great job with everything else, but BECAUSE they've done a great job with everything else it'd be nice if they put some posts up, or better did a full wall wrap around the bare demountable with something that fits the theme.
  20. ^That was kinda the point i was trying to make though - Boundary road is still shit. it's one lane across the highway, and for a few hundred metres prior. it clogs the road. Anzac avenue wasn't much better - and they've put in what seems like 5 or 6 lanes on the southbound onramp now to cope. Of course, we can just blame it on Stockland for the monstrosity that is North Lakes to begin with, but realistically, the current state of Boundary road is what should have been there before costco was even thought of. What is needed now is a much bigger expansion, which I think is currently the subject of a 'possible election promise'
  21. Did we see a logo, or did they just say 'take a hot lap with hot wheels' and someone took it out of context? Anyone got any images not created by Totta?
  22. Ikea and Costco. So the road was shit. two giant mega-box retailers choose that as their location - and naturally, they have to upgrade the road to cope. I'll guarantee the plans approved will probably only bring the road up to scratch WITHOUT those two retailers, so it'll still be shit. Except now, it'll be shit in the morning during peak hour, and in the evening during peak hour, AS WELL AS on the weekend when everyone goes to the warehouses, and in the middle of weekdays when the warehouses receive thousands of trucks delivering stock. Oh and no doubt Costco is building Costco Gasoline in this one too? So you can bet every car for at least 30-50ks around will go there for fuel instead of their local - good for petrol prices, bad for congestion. No - the upgrades won't help the current stores, and they're not going to upgrade again immediately just to build Wonderland. It's not going out that way. Guarantee it.
