  1. ive said it before and ill say it again speed up the lifts, and improve the que system so the ride works smoothly with only 1 operator (which is all this ride has most days)
  2. i like the idea of a launched lift for the GD. however how youd have to launch the thing pretty fast to get it all the way up to the top of that tower (120mts approx). i think just a faster winch to the top is the key here. i mean it takes what 90 sec or so. think about space probe you were up there pretty quick and it didnt stop for ages at the top either, unlike GD which stops at the top for ages. i like the idea of more seats like the pic on the last page, but the thing you gotta remember here is that the track the gondola runs down is only in the very centre and would be only about a meter wide at best. wider seats means more easily the gondola will become inbalanced. also remember most days its pretty windy up the top of the tower even if its not at the bottom. with cyclone i dont think you really need another operator, just let people que at the last set of doors...that way the ride op dosent need to move from the station at all...just let people in, check the harness and let her go....same as demon was set up...worked well even with 1 person.
  3. Pay for my airfair and im there!
  4. RICHARD: Would you grant us an exemption to use offensive language in this thread so we can 'propperly' reply to Huss' comments...
  5. Shuttle mode you mean? Im guessing your having trouble getting the train to stop when it backs into the station? Tip have the station segment slightly tilting forward and the brakes not on too hard...you want it to very slightly over shoot the final destination OR be moving at a moderate pace as it comes into the station segment. If its moving too slow back into the station the brakes will stop it infront of where its supposed to stop and harness etc will not open and ride wont recycle.
  6. I guess just contact the website. Unlike most games sited, No limits is actually quite good at getting back to you with help for problems you might be having.
  7. I would highly recommend anyone who has No Limits to download this update. It is awesome!! :)
  8. Correction: Wouldnt be the "only wooden coaster in australia". You are forgetting that Scenic Railway, Luna Park Melbourne is not only a woodie, but also still in operation.
  9. To be honest for the TOT I think all the graffiti and stuff kinda fits in and actually suits the themeing. I mean isnt the idea supposed to be that your escaping form some sort of disaster. Kinda like you getting thru the last bit of wreckage as your waiting in the tunnel. However having said that Im not a fan of vandalism. Just as i said it kinda suits here.
  10. Hey Psyco, better keep it a secret that its an Intamin, lest people on this forum bagging it to death and rating its roughness before its had the chance to take its first passenger
  11. To get back to the point of this thread. The main issue with this ride would have to be capacity, and the que-style it currently has. Yes simple answer to get more people thru is to have more seats...ie second train woud be the simplest and i would assume most cost efective way to achieve this. As for the que i dont think id change much really. Only add stairs for the way out (tho im sure most use the emergency exit already am i right???) and id add stairs in the que for the ride to shortcut all the walking you gotta do to get on the damn ride...block it off when the que is large of course to stop que jumpers. To be honest im not sure that any amount of pre-ride entertainment really does anything to pass the time. You get in the que to ride the ride not stand in a que and enjoy the lights. Even if it was something good your still gunna be impaitent to get on the ride and long waits would still be and feel long. I guess in my opinion there is no substitute no matter how good compared to the real reason (the ride) that you got in the que for.
  12. Why you ask? Ill answer that with another question WHY NOT? I know it was old and rough, but no visit to wonderland was complete without a ride on the beast. Was the first coaster i ever rode on and i love it as much today as i id the first time i saw it. I still remember as a kid driving down the highway and the first thing youd be able to see was the top of the first turnaround, and as you turned off into wallgrove rd and went past the first drop id be all eyes out the window of the car with the excitement building that we were about to spend the day at wonderland. Mum and dad of course getting annoyed at me by this stage as hyperactivity set in hehe... Of couse over the last few years and the many trips ive had down the M4 in my own car, there was not one time i drove past where i didnt feel excited and the urge to pull up the car jump the fence and go for a ride. What can i say? I am just a person that loves rides...i love to ride em and look at em...and come on guys seriously is there any better looking or more impressive ride to look at then some massive wooden rollercoaster. Sure the newer steelies look mad too, but the sheer size and look of the wooden ones is someting that no steel can replace. wouldnt you want to drive towards your house and see something like that rising up from your backyard.......i sure would!!
  13. Wont run on my computer. Keeps crashing. Is anyone having the same problem or is it just my computer being stupid? Happened with the Seaworld Corkscrew that i downloaded of this site as well. I had a good look at it in the editor tho. Pretty good job mate nearly there... Track notes: there are some small errors on the layout of the track. However having said that youve done a really good job in getting the basic layout of the track reasonably accurate. ive listed my notes on it below with some things i noticed. 1- after the second drop, the track should be straight, and and it should raise till it meets with the lift hill again. This design has a dip and a bend in this section. the dip is actually between where the track joins with the lift hill and the 2nd fan turn (near station) 2- after the 2nd fan turn the track heads back towards the lift hill again. This layout has the happening BUT has the return back towards the lift hill going OVER the track that came from the frist fan turn....its actually the opposite way around in real life. the track goes over from the 2nd drop and under from the 2nd fan turn (catch my drift??? sounds like chineese to me too hehe) -3 after the 3rd fan turn (under the 1st fan turn) the track should run alongside and connected to the track following the second drop. this piece of track is actually supposed to be connected alongside the track from the second drop, till you get to the braking area. ALSO the raised profile of this section of track is way over dramatised compared to the real life version. 4- there are no trasnport wheels on the real bushbeast...this design has them on the trim brake on the first fan turn and in the braking area, and in the station....bushbeast was completely gravity operated, except for the lift chain. Some PETTY things i noticed was 1- speed of lift hill i think should be a little slower 2- youve used auto supports and havent bothered to edit them after...there is no internal diagional supports on the real bushbest on the INSIDE of the circuit. only on the outside of the lift hill and the 2 big fan turns (excusing the cables that were there of course). its pretty easy to edit by deleting the unwanted bits of support. 3- on the real thing the track that runs alongside other bits of track (above and below) are always directly next to each other. this design its a little wide in places and tends to stray a little. (see 3rd fan turn and retrun to braking area) 4-height...checked the height of the track in the editor and its about 50 mtrs high on the lift hill....real design was 90" or 27.5 mtrs (RCDB.COM)...however having said that it does look pretty good on the game at the height you have it. Anyway like i said those last things were petty and i just have a real eye for detail like this. On my last trip to wonderland i took stacks of photos and a notebook and maped out the design in detail, for the puropse of doing my own design in no limits. So i have a fair bit of info on it with my attempt to get it as real as possible. I havent had the time to finish it but ill let you know when its available...wont be anytime soon cheers
  14. Dont get me wrong murph DW is a great place. It just has certain annoying problems currently. For instance the days I visited earlier in the year (a thurs and fri) there were long waits on any decent ride. Cyclone 30mins or so, TOT and GD close to an hour, and WO 20 mins or so. The only things we walked onto was vortex and reef diver. You just get kinda sick of standing in lines all day. Also who would vote to turn off the speakers in the TOT tunnel...Anyone wanted to smash the speakers after the 100'th time of hearing "this area contains toxic waste.....etc"
  15. Yah common sence would go a long way from the park visitors. I mean for me, and anyone ive visited parks with it hasnt been a problem to leave all our stuff with a non riding friend or have cameras, glasses etc put in our bags as we near the front of the que. However having said that not all people think like this and forget. Not to mention that a lot of people who visit these parks are visitors to australia and "do not speaker the english" which adds another complication.
  16. Alex I think you have made some fair points in your posts. I visited DW for the first time in August and one of the first things both my friend and I noticed was the "Gap" between que and ride station, on GD, TOT, W-O and Cyclone. Particularly Cyclone is probably the best example of wasted time on this behalf. So I have to agree with you that fixing this style of queing would fix a lot of time problems. And yes i think wonderlands system was better with Demon, BB etc... I think DW has a good loose items system. Compare it to wonderland which you just chucked your stuff on the other side of the station or floor (SP) dreamworld have done a good job i think giving you a place to store your stuff while on the ride. Its easy and quick to chuck a backpak in the box and grab it again at the end of the ride. I have to dissagree with you tho when you say that shows and staged events would dramaticly help the capacity issues. Would work for a number of people in the park but not the majority. I along with i think most of the people who visit DW go for the rides and arent interested in shows. Also DW unlike SW does not have drawcard wildlife attractions (except for the tigers) However having said all that I believe the real problem with ride attractions is that most of DW's drawcard attractions are low capacity rides. GD has a capacity of what? 150-200 p/h and the same goes with cyclone (being a single train coaster) and TOT.
  17. Mate if i wa a millionare, Id move the whole thing to my place. Along with anything else decent that i could get my hands on SP and demon for example... (Would have free rides of course for members of this site )
  18. HAHA that comment made me laugh a bit i have to say. A coaster built to be NON thrilling, why would you waste your money? I mean we arent talking about a family coaster such as reptar or beastie. What your saying is almost like saying that youd build someting the size of the bushbeast to be not a thrill. Hardly well thought out i think mate. Besides i dont think "fun" rides are built to go 90-odd kph and have 2 inversions. Besides i think if you look into it a bit youll realize the designt of cyclone/big dipper had more to do with the limited space available at luna pk, hence the reason it wraps around itself twice and has a long and narrow footprint. In my mind when i think roller coaster i dont think FUN, i think THRILL, and i think most people of the public would agree there. Besides if you went to luna park for fun and not thrill, there is no rule that says you have to go on it.
  19. I agree with Brady, its a LOT more impressive to look at then to ride. Looks great from outside the park and within, But my over-all impression was that it was a pretty dull ride. On my first ride I noticed 2 things: Firstly how nonthrilling it was and secondly how short it is. For me the best element on the ride is the steeply banked turn before the loops. Its about the only part that gave me any sort of thrill even on the first ride. As I said also its very short. Really its over almost as soon as it goes down the first drop. I know other people on here will bag me out for saying this but Demon was a lot better in my opinion then Cyclone. Yeah sure demon was short too and a heap rougher then cyclone, but for me demon produced a far more intense ride and a better thrill. But I guess thats just me. Id rather something with a higher thrill factor then something all nicely painted and super smooth like cyclone. However At present its probably Australia's best roller coaster (not that, thats saying much) so i guess we can be thankfull that its still in australia and in operation after it was closed in sydney.
  20. file wont run for me. did anyone else have trouble with this?? just keeps crashing for me
  21. hey rich any video footage of floor under the riders seats? id be interested to see how that works is all
  22. this wouldnt matter much either way as the gondola in the event of power failure would be slowed to a safe speed by the magnetic braking on the tower...might stop at the bottom with a little clunk instead of nice and smooth as usual
  23. Hey guys dunno if this has been posted before but i came across this coaster model the other day and thought it was worth puttin up here. www.coasterdynamix.com if only i had that sort of cash sitting around
  24. Light kits? Id be goin down to dick smith and buying a bag of assorted LED's. Reasonably cheap depending on how you buy them and they come in a wide range of sizes and colours...also very bright! Either that or has anyone thought of using a bit of fibre-optic cable? If you were to srtip the insulation and use the fibre strands separately and spread them over the ride then you could have litterally thousands of tiny lights everywere on it. All you would need would be one small central light source (or more if you wanted different colours) at one end of the strands then go crazy with some mad light design....another advantage of this would be that you onlu see the light right on the end of the strands so you could just lay them on the surface and theyd be almost invisable...no running wires and things anywhere either...very simple way if you ask me. I might suggest that a simpler way of doing this would be to use a small headphone jack and sockett. These are great as they are designed anyway to be a moving electrical connection. Ive seen these with as many as 5 segments on them as well! The standard stereo jack has 3 segments so even that allows for 2 separate circuits on moving parts.
