It is the most boring ride at Dreamworld. Me, mum, dad and grandma all feel asleep on the boat. At the next stop, we got off and walked back.
-
Yeah but I loved seeing all of the pictures.
-
Yeah, I also felt that the seats were a problem. I'm not sure what the answer is, I guess Dreamworld would need to look at designing the seat if they get too many complaints. Though I cannot see them replacing them anytime soon.
-
Well I mean people would stay at one of the few hotels across the road from the airport, and then on the morning of the event, the bus would do a run through and pick everyone up. That way people wouldn't have to worry about making sure their flights all land at the same time. BTW: I wouldn't be needing a bus, I'm just giving ideas for the people who are flying in.
-
Yeah, That's not a bad idea. BTW, would this be at Gold Coast Airport or Brisbane? Because Gold Coast is close enough to hotels that you don't really need a lift from the airport.
-
^^ That's not a bad idea. I'm just thinking its ride time would be 'very' short if its speed was around 70K's around the whole track. Though a short mildly-thrilling ride would be better then a long non-thrilling ride. But I cannot see Dreamworld adding the extra launchs now. I mean they're already calling it a thrill ride, so why spend more money. That can't start saying "Motocoaster NOW MORE SCARY".

I liked the idea about a minibus. I'm sure people would pay 10-15 bucks each to use it. I would.
-
Yeah Movie World would be great. A ERT on Superman would be good, but I don't think they would let you without paying through the roof. Movie World or Sea World are prob the parks to choose if you want a good meal, Dreamworld's food is nothing special along with the water parks. Haha, I loved Gazza's idea to post on TPR! My vote is Movie World.

"Butterfly Feeling" A.k.a Weightlessness

Yeah, but Gazza, I didn't ride ANYTHING till I turned 15. There are a lot of people who are scared of rides and until people tell you it's not that bad, and you ride them, you will not get over them. -

Batwing is another one. -
Yeah, I'd ride it. The first time I went on I was like "oh no, this is gonna be so scary." But after, I just kept re-riding it. It was great. The ride is so good it's worth a 30min wait, I reckon.
-
You go right out of your chair. It is not good if you do not like the weightless feeling. It's basicly like going up fast, and then going back then without stoping mid-way. It's a cool feeling.
-
Yeah but I can see a use for that. I mean if you're going to get it to go the station, then you're wanting to use it. And that would be handy because it would act as testing it. I'm not sure though, But I can see the good in both ways.
-
I never thought of it like that. Thanks Gazza.

Ah that's cool. I really do not see the point of a soft opening. I like when they launch it BEFORE it's open to the public. In my eyes, it's silly and pointless.

Yeah Richard. It's really bad, you would think they would have a map in the middle around 4mb or something. Why couldn't they just have scanned it and make it a JPG, that would be much, much better. Also, about the comments, I don't really trust them. I went on Friday night (night of the Media Opening) and there was already comments on there. Some from people as far away as England. So I wouldn't trust them at all. -
Gazza, you've outdone yourself! Let's hope Gazza can get a job at Sea World helping them to design their future ride
-
I used to be like you. I then rode Wild West and Batwing. Once you can do Batwing, you should be set for Superman Escape. If you rode Batwing and didn't like it, because it was too scary, then I wouldn't do Superman Escape. SO I'd try out Batwing before you to on Superman Escape.

Richard, when you talk about mainstream media, do you mean TV stations? I haven't really heard anything like that besides on theme park websites. But then again, I haven't really been looking... -

It is really tight on your legs. You cannot move them what-so-ever. It's very tight and the whole top of the bike is pressing on the top of your legs. It's a very smooth ride Gazza. -

Stardust, What would you rate it out of 10? It seemed like you liked the first half, but the second half is a little of a let down. -
Wow, That's one cool ride. I can't wait to visit it some day. I love how they used the land scape around it to act as suppots.

In a sence of it being a thrill ride yes, a failure. But as a family ride, it's sure one of the best at Dreamworld. It's a fun ride. It's not that thrilling, but it's fun. I'm a thrill person, and most people here are too. That's why I'm rating it a 6 out of 10. But I'm sure there's kids (and some adults) who would say that the Motocoaster is a fun family roller coaster with a fast (and thrilling) launch. So while it may fail to match up to Superman Escape, Tower of Terror and other thrill rides, it will is a run FAMILY ride. On the same topic, I do not think the BIG SIX THRILL RIDES slogan should be used on this ride. Maybe something like "Australia's First" or "Australia's Fastest Family Ride". I don't know, I know it won't attract the thrill seekers but it may stop the people from being disappointed when getting off the ride. Another good judge of the speed slowing a lot in the end of Richard's video from on-ride the coaster. It also shows how smooth the launch is. BTW Richard, was it you who had to ride those 4-5 times at the start? Dan said he had to and his legs were killing him. (from the seats) Anyways... Now, you guys don't make up your mind yet okay. You've gotta ride at least once, to make up your mind, okay? -
That's basically what I was after, but also it's max speed? Sorry I would put it in my No Limits and look for myself but my computer got a virus two days ago, and had to re-load my OS. And with everything that's been happening lately, I haven't found time to load No Limits.

Well, Let me just say that the coaster's seats can hurt your legs a little nearing the end of the ride. But besides that, they aren't too bad. As for the coaster itself, the launch is good (not Superman Escape's power) and the first few turns really are cool. It feels like you're going to fall out because of the trains. But that's where the speed stops, and the second half of the coaster is slow (Road Runner speed, or a little faster) and it's not very thilling. Overall it's a good coaster but I wouldn't go to Dreamworld JUST for it (well maybe my first time) and if the line is over 30min, it's not worth it, unless you've never been on. I didn't get a chance to ride more then once, but Spotty (who I took with me) got to go like 5 times in a row and he said the sidecar was much more thrilling. I recommend the coaster to everyone, as It's not too thrilling, but thrilling enough to get thrill seekers happy for the first 20seconds of the ride. I must say it was also great meeting Richard there, He's a quite bloke but we had a chat and he's cool. Carries a good set of cameras too.
