Journey to the Center of the Earth OPEN!
BNErider replied to ShadowXL's topic in Theme Park Discussion
Well, I'm not sure about the submarine themed shop, but I know that the Sweet Treats needed to have that work done otherwise it would have been completely out of theme. I just find it sad that the Main Street facades are no longer treated like they once were. -

Thanks, Alex. I miss the days where shops would be totally revamped inside and out. I doubt that's going to happen this time. -
Ardent (Dreamworld) continues to decline

^ Agreed. And I'm not a huge fan of Impulse coasters. -

I wonder what's happening with the old Shrek and DC Comics shops? -
Sea World 2010 (Castaway Bay & Antarctic Penguins)

This is looking very nice! The attention to detail is great, but I just wish there were a few targets in the middle of the pool. I also thought the little themed shelters were great, but then they go and put that plain white shade sail over some of the guns. Grr... -
I really didn't like I305. I would prefer a B&M Hyper with no trims. Intimidator at Carowinds was very good. I think something like this would be a good addition: http://www.rcdb.com/531.htm http://www.rcdb.com/3631.htm

Matt, what's happening with the old Shrek and DC Comics store? Will the two stores merge? I would hate for the DC Comics store to remain empty.

What have they fixed up?

Are they going to re-paint the front of the building? Last time I was there it was looking pretty tired.

I have a bad knee at the moment, so maybe that's why I'm bitching The park was amazing. In fact, both parks were. Spiderman and Hulk were my favourites. Also enjoyed Disneyland. On the trip I did a lot of parks and coasters; I think upwards of 120-30 coasters. I found Dollywood and Silver Dollar City to be very nice, as well as Valleyfair and Worlds of Fun. Wasn't a big fan of the Six Flags parks. Yeah, they're good for credits, but not much else. I thought SFMM to have some decent coasters, but also a lot of ones that weren't that great. Lastly, I thought USH was a bit of a let-down. It had some good attractions, but I wasn't a fan of the layout.

Do keep in mind that you get free front of the line passes with the on-site resorts. So it may work out cheaper. Also the on-site resorts are connected via river boats, whereas the off-site hotels are not, and the only way to get to the parks easily is to use the shuttle bus, which is a pain in the a**. Walking is an option, but even the Hilton (at the entrance to the complex) is quite far.

IOA wasn't too bad. But it was my first time there (nothing to compare it to) and had front of the line passes. Harry Potter wasn't too bad, I think it was around 30-40min for a single rider, but was well over an hour for groups.

I went the other week. It's much smaller in real life. It's pretty cool, but Disney still would have done a better job.

WARNER BROS. MOVIE WORLD CELEBRATES DC COMICS 75TH ANNIVERSARY!
BNErider replied to Suhan's topic in Theme Park Discussion
They were out all day. If the lights slide back in then that's fine. The fog machines are quite off-putting, in fact a lot of the windows are quite off-putting. They should spend some money and refresh some of them. -

Saw the parade tonight. Great stuff! The only things I wasn't huge on was the ending. I felt it was quite strong at the start (The Joker dance scene was fantastic), but slowly got worse towards the ending. Nonetheless, was a very good production! I just hope that all of the windows are fixed up afterwards! Those fog/light machines look quite ugly! PS. Does anybody know what song is used for The Joker's dance scene? -

Glad to see position feedback! I have a few questions, though. - Is there still a day-time parade? Or has that been replaced with this new one? - What are the extra shows? - Are the additional characters roaming the streets during the day? - Are any rides kept open after 5pm? What stores are kept open? How active is the park after 5pm? -
1) Roller coaster (large B&M or Intamin) 2) Themed children's village (with a small roller coaster) 3) Indoor themed ride (would love something like Tower of Terror [Disney] or Indiana Jones) 4) Water ride (river rapids) 5) Major show

Does anybody know what the new characters will be? -
A roller coaster would be a bad idea. All you need to do is think about what is sitting right NEXT to the river ride...

I went to Movie World and Sea World yesterday. I would say that Movie World is still my favourite WVTP park, with Sea World looking worse and worse each time I go. Movie World: Main Street: - The 3D theatre paint is starting to peel (around the top) - The bubble machines look awful; you can see the internal roofing from the street! - Shrek shop is still open/DC Comics shop has its merchandise in boxes (most likely something to do with the DC Comics celebrations) - Otherwise looks good (besides a few speaker panels needing to be replaced) Scooby Doo: - First set of automatic doors (where you exit the load station) were not working - Few of the knights that lean forward were not working - A lot of wear and tear on the themeing - Fog was present, but not in the final room - The light in the queue line has still not been fixed; it's hanging down and the whole body/cords are exposed (above one of the doors to the exit station/fire hose reel) [not a huge deal, but it wouldn't be hard to fix and it has been months since I first noticed it...] Wild West: - Looked surprisingly good. Would like to have some of the themeing repainted/fixed though Hollywood Stunt Driver: - Was a good show, the bricks were even put back up - However, the final fire effect looks like it's taking its toll on the buildings' themeing Batwing: - Why isn't the mist working? --------- Sea World: Sea Viper: - This ride now SUCKS! It's rough and NOT fun to ride - Cannot put one of my hands in the air... - Was parking always so bad? It now parks like the Cyclone Jet Rescue: - AWESOME, as always... but I wish some thought was put into the themeing BT: - Should be closed down. I don't care if it's for a new ride or for a huge rehab, but it cannot continue to operate in its current form And the new game building looks awful! Seriously, why didn't they just theme them so they don't look temporary...

Went to Movie World. Wasn't too busy, but they seemed to be very low on staff, meaning that the lines for entry, ticketing and food/drinks were HUGE!!! And I think it stinks that the upgrade booth opens at 1:30pm. I know it's not a weekday, but surely they could open it a tad earlier? I was suck at the park until 1:30...
-
Doubt it's true. Does anybody know what was replaced/updated/changed in the LTRR refurbishment?
-
Went on the BT yesterday. The ride is a disgrace! There is a projector placed in plain view (just sitting on top of some themeing), with two pieces of wood leaning on either side of the projector Plus, many lights and effects (the UFO hasn't been fixed ) do not work. It's a shame that Sea World have let this ride go.
-
- How did the park look? - For Hollywood Stunt Driver, did they bother to place the bricks back into the building? (or was the hole there the entire time?) - How were the rides' effects? - Near the "Upgrade Booth" on the roundabout, what is that new concreted section for? (where the grass is/was)

What is exactly happening? Is it just a parade at 5pm and an extra show or what? How big is this parade going to be?
