  1. After riding it today will say I was impressed. The looping audio in the queue became somewhat annoying though. Still not as good as Superman but it is up there. Dreamworld may have a well themed ride with Buzzsaw but Green Lantern beats it hands down through ride experience. One thing it has against it is loading though. Seems a complicated setup which gets worse when for some reason something goes wrong and they have to restart the whole procedure from pulling down the lap bar. Looking forward to getting out of the peak period and getting a large number of rides in. On board audio wasn't noticeable either but even without it the ride is a solid addition and something the park should be proud of.
  2. Have to agree with Spotty and cannot understand why they chose someone other than the manufacturer for replacement trains. Guessing cost has been a somewhat large factor in the decision.
  3. Have to totally agree with Sea Viper being worse than Corkscrew for smoothness. Least with Lethal Weapon they cannot really make things that much worse!
  4. Here's a link for you Jacko! http://lmgtfy.com/?q=Sally+Corp
  5. You make Happy Feet no longer featured sound like a bad thing.
  6. I haven't been but based on what I have heard if you enjoy a good queue then it is going to be an extremely fun day for you!
  7. Died in the arse, long term hiatus. Either way this sure did end quickly. I blame the no gnome business
  8. I wouldn't be too sure with Monday being a public holiday. Things could be busy.
  9. Sounds like the kind of sensationalist crap you would find on Today Tonight or A Current Affair. Guessing this is from a News Limited paper. Only they seem to go out of the way to write such pieces of fine literature as this!
  10. As said above this ride doesn't need to go. It is the first with bonus smooth section (helix) and not really that old. The new trains and touch up to the area should have people riding again. Will say I wouldn't mind trying it with backwards trains. If it has worked for one ride then I cannot see why it wouldn't for this. Would make for one hell of a unique experience.
  11. Another flat ride would be nice. The problem with a tower is the noise for nearby residents. Will say with Green Lantern and even Buzzsaw it is nice to see parks returning to a traditional lift hill coaster. We already have enough launched coasters in our parks.
  12. Wouldn't mind seeing something like this done in the Looney Tunes building. Replace a motion simulator at one end of the park with another different type at the other. It looks like something that could be really good themed to the characters and it would be something the family could do as a group.
  13. Am I the only one feeling too much emphasis being put onto coasters in a park? Sure it is good to have a few decent ones but the park should be more than just a bunch of coasters. Even Cedar Point have realised this with additions like windseeker, maxair and skyhawk being added in the past decade to compliment the coasters. I personally don't mind which company comes down under (good bet our next one will be Legoland based on Merlins recent acquisitions) but as long as it is well planned out and has a good mix of attractions for both thrill seekers and families then I am happy. Having a park full of coasters will only attract teens, those without small children and enthusiasts. That is a large portion of the population to neglect and in cases one of the largest groups for potential income.
  14. I see it coming back to the point of being there for the atmosphere of the night and uniqueness it has than the rides. I know I went to Halloween and White Christmas for the things that are only available on those nights and not the rides that I can ride any day. Sure it may be different riding them at night but that shouldn't be the main reason people are going to these events.
  15. Asked the all knowing source of everything if it will open tomorrow and.... It seems the universe has spoken and even it isn't too positive!
  16. Because soft openings allow the park to get an idea of what it will be like to operate the ride with actual guests and give them a heads up on things that will need to be improved/changed. It is more of a troubleshooting thing to prepare them for the big day. You can test loading and unloading all you want with staff but people as a whole are unpredictable and there are a whole heap of things that can happen they may not be prepared for.
  17. Looking at what I saw when there on Wednesday it is safe to say the station roof isn't going to be plain white. There does however seem to be no signs of the station building being enclosed or work of that nature happening. The fencing around the ride may seem insecure but it is classy looking and compliments the ride unlike the pool fencing that can be found around Wild West Falls.
  18. Wouldn't even call it best thrill ride. Wipeout running its normal cycle is more thrilling and fun!
  19. Since Sunday they have added an additional trim to the drop.
  20. Cannot see that happening! Unless those working on the ride are owners of Deloreans!
  21. Sounds kinda familiar to something another park has done. Lets hope the path is at least covered. Will not be good standing in it on a hot day.
  22. Screamscape is thinking the London side of Potter (Diagon Alley etc). http://www.screamscape.com/html/universal_studios_florida.htm#Potter2
  23. Nice to see a video where what you wanting to see happens within a minute of the video starting and no horrible intro! It still flies around the track not losing much speed so will be interesting to see if it stays the same when it opens.
  24. Whilst people may be grammar Nazis it comes down to it being one of the Community Guidelines Getting back on topic I guess things will be well under way to get the ride in a state where it can be opened. Only around three weeks left. Although I can't see them doing a Dreamworld and opening the ride only to add to it later.
  25. In regards to the drop now being steeper I have a feeling the initial measurement given was a safe amount until the track work was complete and finalised. Would have looked bad coming out from the start saying worlds steepest then having to retract it if something happened that resulted in the ride being not as steep when completed. Either way it should make for a great ride and a decent addition to the park. Going to do the stupid thing and go down opening weekend to ride it. Will look at using the ERT for VIP Gold pass holders (with a bit of luck Superman or Batwing next month) to get in the park earlier and try to get an edge over the general public getting onto it.
