  1. Would be guessing to help reduce splash back as a water saving measure.
  2. Isn't it just the SF ones that have reliability problems? From what I have heard Stunt Fall has not had any of the problems that the SF ones have had. Seems the problems have been somewhat sorted anyway. From Wikipedia (http://tinyurl.com/yqr86h): When Six Flags ordered their four Giant Inverted Boomerangs (GIB's), Stunt Fall was the last to be installed. When Six Flags saw the issues that the first three had, they allowed Vekoma to go and work out all of the problems before installation. This is why Stunt Fall ran on a more consistent basis. Vekoma has since implemented this system on their other three GIB's. Now all of these coasters run on a regular basis, possibly due to the removal of sensors to monitor speed.

    Which one?

Any chance of seeing a list similiar to mine about the good/bad things? From a non owners point it would be interesting to see what you think the good and bad things are.

    Which one?

I own a 360 and a Wii and will summarise the points below XBOX 360 Good - - Cheapish price - Great games catalogue including backwards compatibility with XBOX games - Live service is a breeze to use and worth the subscription cost - HD movie playback optional - Warranty now at I think 3 years standard - Customer service is great for when you do experience problems - Able to connect to a Windows PC with Windows Media Player 11/Windows Media Center and stream videos, music, photos and TV (with Media Center) directly to the 360 - Easy for developers to do games for due to extensive tools and support Bad - Heat (apparently the new ones are better) - Hardware failure rate somewhat high (also addressed in newer consoles) Wii Good - - Cheap - Easy to use Bad - Not many games and a number of bad games - No online play for most games There are probably more points about them but they are the ones I am able to think of at the moment, cannot really say about the PS3 as I do not have one and have not played one.
  5. I have played the demo on the XBOX 360 and found it alright. Easy to control and do things, looks alright, but as mentioned above it is nothing like RCT, more of an "arcade" based game. I would probably hire it before buying, most good video hire stores will have it on Wii/360/PS2.
  6. Same here, although where I am you can only get that Austar crap so no IQ box for recording.

    XBOX 360 Live

Just wondering if anyone else here has a XBOX 360 with a XBOX Live account. Feel free to post your details if you are/want to. Mine are as follows: Gamertag: d34thstrik3 Zone: Recreation Games: Project Gotham Racing 3, Crackdown, Perfect Dark Zero, Burnout Revenge, Bankshot Billiards, Rockstar Table Tennis.
  8. The maccas out here does that now too, and in peak period has someone with a PDA pre-ordering your meal so it is ready when you get to the counter. I also agree that Maccas food is better than some of the park food and I rate it higher. Or if you want healthy or different from what is offered why not just pack some rolls or something and take with you into the park. You will more than likely be hiring a locker anyway so storing it somewhere whilst on the rides won't be a problem.
  9. I am interested in attending. Would be nice to take a behind the scenes look of how some of the rides work (where possible). I would be able to attend MW but probably not DW or SW.
  10. Probably the same reason why people pump money into those chocolate machine things (these things) when there more often than not is a vending machine nearby with a decent sized chocolate for a fraction of the cost. Would be nice to see it done up properly if it is to become permanent, the dodgems need something painted on the wall in my opinion. A city side walk painting or something would improve the look from the black that is currently there.

  12. Source: couriermail.com.au A MAINTENANCE worker caused an amusement park ride in Queensland to malfunction just weeks before five people died on an identical ride in Asia. The maintenance worker put "The Eye" ferris wheel on manual override, causing carriages to crash into each other while doors were open. Fortunately, the ferris wheel was tested before the Gold Coast Sea World theme park opened its doors for the day. Photographic evidence Photos of the incident, believed to have been taken by a maintenance worker at the scene, were sent to NEWS.com.au. Warner Village Theme Parks CEO John Menzies said management was not aware of the incident until they were shown the photos. “We were all staggered, it’s the first time we’ve seen it,” Mr Menzies told NEWS.com.au. “(An apprentice) had it in manual override and inadvertently left the doors open… maintenance didn’t report it.” The ride was usually tested by maintenance workers in “fail safe mode”, which was disabled at the time. He also said that “it could never happen if someone was on the ride”. "Full-blown review" “Immediately after the Korean incident we shut the ride and contacted the Swiss manufacturer," Mr Menzies said. “After making recommended manufacturer’s changes to the operation of the ride, it was re-opened briefly but we voluntarily closed the ride two weeks ago to conduct a full-blown review of its operation to be absolutely satisfied that it meets our stringent safety standards. “At the moment we are working closely with Queensland Workplace Health and Safety Group to ensure the ride is safe to re-open.” Five people were killed at a South Korean amusement park on August 13 after two ferris wheel carriages crashed into each other, forcing the doors to open and passengers to fall to their deaths.
  13. There is another Intamin coaster with a launch that I have seen this type of track, Maverick - http://maverick.cedarpoint.com/_upload/gallery/mvt064.jpg
  14. Download the Soaked Update 1 Patch. You get the custom billboards that are included with wild when you apply the patch. A full list of fixes and additions and a download link can be found at http://www.atari.com/us/support/newfaq/rol...#faq_prodissues
  15. Must be a slow news day or something. I am glad I live no where near those places as the idea of visiting a chair and seeing two no-name randoms is not really interesting at all. I am looking forward to the day when both BB and Idle come to an end.
  16. Was quite smooth when I went on, no head banging or anything thing, 2nd last car from the back of the train (9) on the right hand side
  17. Lethal was only cycling the blue train today. The red train was nowhere to be seen.
  18. http://tinyurl.com/2s4ou4 Click on the "Photo (Beta)" button as seen in that shot and you should be able to access the aerial photo.
  19. The train track is only there as a alternative way of getting guests to the back of the park and will be removed for the final, there are also 3 coasters and a number of rides that will also be removed from the park. The final uploaded product will be MW without any additional rides/attractions. Front of the park progress shot, main street will be getting worked on a bit next for the modification of the path and placement of trees that line it. Update Two new progress shots, today of the main street area Looking down the street: http://tinyurl.com/336kxs Overview of the area: http://tinyurl.com/2um8xu Reference image: http://tinyurl.com/3djesf
  20. I have started working on this again and look at releasing a final product. I currently have got almost all the Batman area done, the front entrance ticket booths and scanning area is also almost complete. I will be completing the rest of the front of the park then moving to the western area and Police Academy and finally onto Looney Tunes Village. Only one shot at the moment and I am still to put the mesh above the viewing area in LW.
  21. I had a problem with downloading one of the files where it did not do it properly and had to redownload it. All four files can be found at Download link, just unzip the folders as they are to \Program Files\Atari\RollerCoaster Tycoon® 3\Style\Themed

If anyone would like to see any shots of the park (have almost got the main street part done, might not be exact but it looks good), send me a PM
  23. Custom scenery will work in RCT 3 with or without expansions installed.
  24. $200 to go to the show? Now I know why it has been years since I last went to the Ekka. That sure is not value for money for me, would rather go to Dreamworld/Movie World for the day instead and get change from $100 after lunch.
