Nickelodeon is moving for a Sea change!
themeparkgc replied to S.W24's topic in Theme Park Discussion
ParadePants-tacular?!?!? I dislike the name but I still do like the idea and scale of it all. -
^ It was in regards to Lassiter's Lost Mine $3 million price tag though: http://www.parkz.com...-Lost-Mine.html

Outdoor rides operate up until 9pm. Everything else is till 11pm.

The closest house to MW is about 100m away from the park border. DW has about four times that buffer zone.

Just to put it out there 38 of their coasters are listed as custom on RCDB with 27 coasters listed as having duplicate layouts: [*]Batman: The Ride - 14 [*]Superman: Ultimate Flight - 4 [*]Raptor - 3 [*]Oblivion - 2 [*]SheiKra - 2 [*]Medusa - 2

I'm interested to here your thoughts on the Wizarding World of Harry Potter (in particular Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey) if you went to IOA.

The Parkz Update: Movie World, September 30 2011
themeparkgc replied to Richard's topic in Latest News & Updates
I guess this throws out the rumour from the Gold Coast Bulletin that the ride will be scrapped. I can't find any information about KumbaK manufacturing trains for Vekoma SLCs though. They sort of seem like the new style Vekoma trains. Does anyone have a link or some information about other KumbaK train upgrades for inverted Vekomas? -
Posted just over a week ago to YouTube... (unfortunately the end is cut off):

Here's a video of the new show... http://www.facebook....150368954804400 For those that are interested, the original show consisted primarily of the one-on-one competition which now is a part of the bigger show.

^ that would be the same style of base as all of the and the Christmas floats as well (pic pic pic). My guess is this could just be another one to add to their lineup.
-
I think the above combination would be a good replacement for Batman Adventure. Bermuda Triangle: I'd like to see something like that I came up with last year. Looney Tunes River Ride: I'd like to just see the whole ride refurbished from the ground up. Maybe some new scenes would be good also. I feel a Looney Tunes shooter ride would be a bad move. In saying all of this though, I am thinking that Village Roadshow are starting to move away from dark rides after letting these three rides slowly deteriorate. The sort of "partial dark rides" that GoGoBoy has mentioned are probably more realistic as the style of replacements we will see.

Village Roadshow to sell Sydney Attractions Group
themeparkgc replied to GoGoBoy's topic in Theme Park Discussion
Another update on this. Merlin has started to rebrand some of the attractions: [*]Sydney Wildlife World has become WILD LIFE Sydney [*] Sydney Tower has become Sydney Tower Eye [*]Hamilton Island Wildlife Park has become WILD LIFE Hamilton Island Sydney attractions as well as some new attractions including Illawarra Fly, Otway Fly, Icehouse, and Phillip Island Nature Parks. -
Top journalism here by the Gold Coast Bulletin. Not only have they confused the Green Lantern rides at Magic Mountain and Great Adventure online but the story in print is much worse. Highlights include: Here's the full story in all its glory:

It's official: http://movieworld.my...en-Lantern.aspx

The Saw Maze is in Soundstage 1 (I believe where it was originally designed for) with the Zombie Apocalypse Maze being in Soundstage 2. Arkham Asylum is in the show stage and Psycho 3D will return to the Scooby Doo queue.

Paralympian Movie World Embarrasment
themeparkgc replied to aussienetman's topic in Theme Park Discussion
Reminds me of this from a couple of years back: It's unfortunate for her, but safety should always be the number 1 priority. I feel Movie World have done the right thing here on all accounts. -
I think it might be all of the above.

Next Monday is the 12th of September.

^ definitely. Just to put it out there, the press release for Superman Ultimate Flight says it is being manufactured by Premier Rides not Maurer Sohne. Seems like Premier are borrowing a few ideas from Maurer though (non-inverting loop, SkyLoop style heartline).
-
EDIT: Official information has now been released: [*]Press Release [*]Official Webpage with a heap of information on everything I think a combination of the two would have been ideal for Dreamworld. A chain lift up into the heartline roll but on the decent it would go into the non-inverting loop like Superman: Ultimate Flight will. I don't think a third launch coaster at Dreamworld would be good. Others are fighting back - I just saw this on Facebook.
-
^ as long as it isn't Gotham City Gauntlet: Escape from Arkham Asylum (the longest coaster name ever?) I think I'd approve. The Joker would be another good theme.
