  1. I'm someone that definitely doesn't care about NFT's/web3 elements but as something that will get me discounts in park on F/B and Retail I may signup for $25. Some more info in the email sent on the 24th of Nov.
  2. Leviathan and Trident will be offered with Virtual Que. Sea World also now has One Shot (Fast Track) available ($10 for Storm and $5 for Battle Boats currently).
  3. It contains a fat load of nothing, just reminiscing. GOLD Coast theme park bosses are on the hunt for new rides and attractions. The Bulletin this week revealed in its Future Gold Coast coverage that Village Roadshow theme parks chief operating officer Bikash Randhawa was in the US this week to attend the IAAPA Expo trade show for the attractions industry in Orlando, Florida which showcases the latest in ride technology. While he was looking for new rides, clearing continued at the former site of a well-loved Gold Coast ride of yesteryear. The former Lethal Weapon roller coaster was a major attraction at Warner Bros Movie World in the 1990s and 2000s It’s one of the many thrill rides the Gold Coast has lost over the years. The Lethal Weapon was launched in 1995 at a cost of $16m and then-park boss John Menzies said it was created to bring more tourists in. “We have done a lot of exit surveys over the past couple of years, where we’ve asked visitors to the park what they may have thought could improve it,’’ he said. “The most common response is that the park needs a really exciting new ride. “What we have aimed for here is the ultimate experience in roller coasters.’’ It was rebranded to the Batman-themed Arkham Asylum in the 2010s before shutting down in 2019. It has made way for a giant Wizard of Oz-themed attraction. It was one of a range of thrill rides introduced in the mid-1990s. One of the most popular of that era was Sea World’s Bermuda Triangle which opened in April 1994. It took “travellers on a startling mission aboard Coast Guard research vessels into “the unknown’’ to investigate sudden volcanic activity and strange disappearances at sea.” Its giant fire-spitting fibreglass volcano could be seen from Southport and its bursts of flames from its roof would turn heads. It closed in 2010. Of course, the best-remember thrill ride was also the original – the Thunderbolt. Opened at Dreamworld in early 1982, it was famous for giant double-loop. Prominently used in advertising for the Gold Coast, it stood for two decades before being retired in 2003. Then-Dreamworld boss Tony Braxton-Smith said at the time it was necessary to say goodbye to old rides. “Removing the coaster paves … will herald some exciting developments in this part of the park, including the addition of some of the latest cutting edge thrill rides to be rolled out“
  4. I have always found the Wild West goes hand in hand with massive golden bananas.
  5. Have you considered it’s not planned. I visited the park yesterday from 2-4pm and can confirm I heard it had an issue at opening they were unable to resolve on the day.
  6. Movie World have announced DC Super Heroes & Super-Villains is returning for the peak period of 28 December to 29 Janurary - https://movieworld.com.au/dc-super-heroes-and-super-villains . Unfortunately it appears to be a very lite version of the event with only Riddler and Scarecrow being additions to the day to day lineup, no Penguin and Poison Ivy. The entertainment page lists two parade's (like the recent Tweety 80th Birthday Celebration) and the return of the Good Citizen Awards but otherwise just the usual daily Catwoman and Wonder Woman shows.
  7. Because it’s the current pass that the majority of Locals that visit hold. Just as they offer $50 Animal Adventures/Sea World Resort vouchers for renewals it makes sense to encourage in park spending. They also removed the two previous in park benefits (discounted digital ride photos and discounted unlimited sipper cup).
  8. I 100% expected them to keep it the same price as Rivals and it’s true they have it so high as some people will pay it. I more than likely will on my first visit and I’m sure a lot of those on holiday will too. $30 isn’t much on a $$$$ family holiday, a basic T shirt at the parks costs more. I’m one of those that used to do DCR Backwards most visits at $10 then $15. But can’t justify it at a higher price, did it once at $25 with a friend who never had before and haven’t done it since. I still question the logic of such a high price in offpeak where it does mostly run empty, have off peak pricing or discounts for Locals One Pass holders.
  9. I would guess @DaptoFunlandGuy is on the money. I’m fairly sure there will be an A-Frame in park advertising it on December 2.
  10. They really do need to stop testing updates on a live website..
  11. Update - Renewals will rise to $119 from November 23. You can renew your pass prior to then if it is expiring within the next 30 days.
  12. Saver remains the same, Value $119 > $129 and Locals $129 > $149. Renewals remain at $99 for a Locals Pass. They have joined VRTP in One Day park ticket for an adult being $105. WWW is no longer included in the one day ticket and needs to be purchased separately or as part of a multi-day pass.
  13. My thoughts are similar to last year, $220 is not to much to pay for a Season Pass and it's good and smart of them to not price shock existing renewals by only doing a $10 increase. I just hope we see investment in the park continue and things don't move backwards and are neglected (see Scooby, DC Villains Unleashed, JL Ride) Funny you should say that... Dreamworld just increased ticket prices (although not to the levels of VRTP) 😆
  14. Don't forget the World's Greatest Admission Costs... *well fairly close I'm sure
  15. Admission prices have risen drastically. A one day ticket has broken the $100 barrier and is now $105 for Sea World/Movie World, holiday tickets that previously increased $10 or so have jumped $30 or more. A new locals One Pass has gone from $189 to $219, renewals only $189 from $179.
  16. I think its a very fair assumption that the Dreamworks license is going in the not too distant future, the shop is currently being gutted/under construction and some of the character statues are looking shocking.
  17. I don’t have any issue with the design of the hotel apart from the rake on the side. I wish they licensed WB for the hotel, Abu Dhabi shows that a WB Hotel can be executed well. I’m sure the hotel will do well and be successful overall but “Hotel V” and the Oxenford site to me is not enough of drawcard to stay away from Surfers.
  18. *cough* Movie World Thanks for the update, WNW is a rare visit for me but good to see what’s happening.
  19. Village themselves have a good guide on how to use it although it is somewhat hidden. Worth noting that you can only book while inside the park. https://themeparks.com.au/download-app/virtual-queue Virtual Que does fill up very quick, it generally is opens/is ready for booking from 10AM. They have not turned it off during busy periods recently (and they shouldn't as it is an advertised ticketing inclusion). It's worth checking periodically throughout the day too even if it is full as more slots do open up.
  20. Great theming/surrounding area when it opened, left to degrade and have effects break and now is an embarrassment. Ride is a meh, loading times largely make the ride not worth it in my opinion.
  21. Speaking to crowd numbers last night wasn’t sold out in the traditional sense, like they have done in previous years they mark a night as “sold out” to encourage future sales. Despite what the FAQ said too they did have tickets at the gate for $20 higher.
  22. https://frightnights.com.au/event-info/entertainment-schedule Entertainment schedule has been posted, now we just need the park map 😄 Glad to hear some entertainment and Live Music confirmed. I do wish they would return to utilising the HSD arena for a large show.
