  1. Dreamworld- Blinky Bill Movieworld- 50 Shades SeaWorld- Atlantis
  2. I know it will never happen, but for the UTT, utilise the kids area again:
  3. Christmas Eve was a month ago already? Wow, the time flies.
  4. True, but I guess I mean something that isn't just a flat ride thrown in somewhere. Be it a family ride, family coaster, etc, just something for families to replace the missing pieces.
  5. Eventually, yes, but replace 2 rides with an event venue? Ehh. Not this year. I'd like to see a new ride go in first. Ideally a coaster or some kind of track ride to make use of space, and then replace the BL area maybe late 2018 / early 2019.
  6. I think it's a software thing. After downloading the file and ensuring the correct rotation was done, I tried to upload it full size and got this result.
  7. Not that I can ever see it happening, but how good would this be as a match for Sea World https://mack-rides.com/products/dark-rides/submarine-dark-rides/
  8. Probably didn't need to, but wanted to make sure the whole room was black. Sadly the wall pieces don't snap together so it was done almost piece by piece. There are currently 2009 objects in this building. It still needs a roof and another dual wall (white outer and black inner). Not to mention all the lighting, effects, and a coaster inside. For size reference you can see one of the black parts just under the monorail track.
  9. Now THAT could really add to the "wild" side of things if you have to fight the instructor before you go anywhere.
  10. A movie studio area type thing I'm working on.
  11. Good to know their website is just as good as Sea World's ^ That's from the (i) tooltip
  12. Welcome to the extremely small club of 2 or 3 of us who don't mind this temporary interruption to the normal ride experience. What does have the potential to disappoint me though is the proposed new time frame that it's going to be going under maintenance. I guess at least that way I'll have more time to get back to the park and check it out than what I originally thought.
  13. I think the fog is always a hit & miss regardless of what state the ride is in. I thought someone mentioned the fog, lasers and music were still active?
  14. Isn't that what they normally have? It wouldn't look any different to what you see on a normal star tour I don't think. The disco room is the only one you visit.
  15. Throwing in extra fog/smoke would cause more problems than it would solve I believe.
  16. Photo Credit: Theme Parks All In One VRTP have managed to combine Movie World's love of A-Frame signs with Dreamworld's love of A4 signs! Although I'm not sure what a "spoky" coaster is?
  17. I especially like how they clearly tested their site before releasing it to the public. I opened the page to see how the booking process goes, here's a step by step of what I found. 1 - I decided to book myself and 29 friends a buggy ride. 2 - Apparently that entitles my friends and I to some free goodies! Well, some of us anyway.... (maximums were selected in each category) 3 - Ok, so clearly WnW knows more about me than I thought and knows that I don't actually have 29 friends, so they've decided that while they'll charge me for 30 tickets, I'll only get 1. 4 - But, they seem to think that maybe I'm not completely sad and I might actually have 14 friends, so they'll let me update the cart to reflect that and check out. Although I do like the merchandise names...
  18. You're right though, this isn't Disneyland. We have a lower ride count and more of a chance for vocal guests to cause brand damage. It's better they opened it. Give it a month or two and when it shuts down for the refurb, everyone will be over it.
  19. > Certain theming did not meet certain standards. > Park has 2 options Close ride and rebuild theming - park already has rides out of action - people will complain Removing theming and open ride for peak season - people will complain The option they have chosen seems to be the lesser of 2 evils. There's no way they were going to be able to pull this off without some kind of complaints. They know that and they'd be expecting that. What disappoints me is the lack of communication. We all know MW love their A-Frames, so why not a sign out the front that advises guests the ride is currently undergoing refurbishment, however it is still open for guests enjoyment. It can be fairly safe to say that they don't want to operate the ride in its current condition however, given this has come at the start of peak season when they need to have as many of their rides open as possible, they had to do something. I seem to be the only person I've spoken to so far (yes I talk to myself, what of it ) that doesn't have an issue with the ride in its current state, given we know it's a temporary band-aid fix.. We know it's going to close after peak season for a theming rebuild. Can't we just be happy that they have the ride open to soak up some of the crowd in the meantime?
  20. Disclaimer: These photos were sent to me. I am not at the park today and do not endorse people taking loose items on rides. Please adhere to VRTP's policies.
  21. VRTP are investing around $500 million into their parks. That kind of capital isn't going to result in thing being built overnight. I see where you're coming from, but I don't think it's all doom and gloom for the holidays. There's been a few things out of everyone's control that have impacted operations. I'm happy with VRTP's efforts for the season. It's been enough for me to swap over to a membership rather than just a VIP pass. Yes, there's always room for improvement in everything, but nothing is perfect. As for Ardent? I think they're doing pretty well given what's happened. They're progressing quite nicely and things are starting to come back online. Some things just take time.
  22. I don't remember much of the early stages of this year, so just whatever 10 coasters come to mind from DW/MW/SW I guess.
  23. We got told while we were at the park, then we walked over and as @pin142 said, you could hear it when you were nearby.
  24. I thought we could use a specific thread to discuss the reopening of the Scooby Doo Spooky Coaster, and everyone's thoughts on it post-reopening. As we all know, SDSC is scheduled to reopen on Boxing Day. The ride was testing this afternoon. Yes, this thread is a couple of days early, but I figured tomorrow being Christmas will likely be a quieter day on Parkz and this way a thread is ready to go without the talk being lost in other threads.
