  1. The park is obviously in the middle of spending a fortune of money, time, and effort. While I'm sure Scooby is on the cards somewhere I agree with what's been said above and I think the refurb won't be until later this year, or perhaps they're wanting to go all-out and we'll only see it next year (which would be annoying to have it in its current state for so long, however if the new experience is worth the wait I'm definitely ok with this)
  2. are we not worthy of your presence reanimated, lord of all?
  3. ^me I'm on DW currently, and I'll probably switch mid-year back to MW (well, I have to before September)
  4. Looks like you have your priorities set straight. ?
  5. Yeah, I don't have a staff ID card because I'm only a casual employee, so it obviously wouldn't work. I think I can apply for a staff ID card, but it's sorta complicated since I already have a student ID. I was just wondering how lenient they are with the "educational staff" term.
  6. So... I technically count as staff at UQ (I tutor)... do I get free admission?
  7. Agreed 100% Happy is one of the most overused songs in modern culture...
  8. Great, another thing that makes ToT's theme even more ambiguous! So it's a space mission now?????
  9. A nice green but shaded place with a few benches would be great - something that can easily be overlooked at a theme park but at the same time very necessary.
  10. I think what they did to make it "dreamy" was pretty decent, any visual effects I reckon could have been a little over-the-top.
  11. Honestly, I didn't even notice the "hold your breath" line. It's part of the song... and I'm sure most people will think of it as that as well.
  12. Send me twisty track like that and I'll be a very happy chap
  13. The bit about SE does make me wonder if it's just me or is it starting to fade noticeably again already? Perhaps its just the picture lighting?
  14. I think they did answer part of the question well enough - they made the point that no matter what the conditions are the safety checks are the same. The bit about checking after rain obviously wasn't answered - but they were half way there. The music though was way too loud (or maybe they were speaking too quietly), but I'm glad they had subtitles to make up for that. Sure, there were a few technical terms that most members of the GP wouldn't understand, but better to include them for the people who understand them (like us) instead of having it half-completed, or 10 minutes long because it's filled with explanations for everything (plus, if it sounds technical the GP would be easily convinced). There were a few obvious issues in it, but overall a really great video from Movie World. I'm looking forward to a possible continuation of this series, hopefully with a few of the problems fixed up.
  15. Now that there are two doors connecting the lego store with the park, I wonder how DW will manage to keep the park guests from the non-park guests. The obvious choice would be to just double what they're doing now, with a staff member manned at each door, however we do know how much Dreamworld likes to cut staff numbers in half during off-peak and perhaps we might see one of the doors closed during quieter times of the year? I do think some permanent turnstiles there would be a good investment for the park, it must be difficult for the staff member out the front to constantly monitor people entering and exciting the park.
  16. I'd also imagine a single rider queue, seeing they implemented one on DD too.
  17. Because they will totally keep the lego figures there when the door starts being used...
  18. I'm sure @djrappa is having a good chuckle behind our backs.
  19. Sounds like the entirety of these forums will be at the park today snapping away at shipping containers. The GP must think there's something wrong with us enthusiasts.
  20. And doing that would cause the ride to be shut during off-peak because they can't get the min number of staff.
  21. It sorta just disappeared after the TRRR accident, never to be mentioned again. I'm glad they didn't go ahead with it.
